Recently purchased one of Grant’s pieces. Makes me smile every time I look at it hanging in my home. Buying it was a great experience, everyone at the gallery is so nice and friendly, especially Grant and his wonderful wife.

I walked in last night by accident and fell in love. As a surfer and nature lover Grant’s work spoke to me in a very personal and emotional way. I had to leave with some art and so I did. Meeting the artist and hearing about his vision and inspiration was a real treat. He was friendly, open and very mellow and down to earth cat. The kind of guy you want to grab a wave or a beer with.

Interesting gallery in Little Italy. A fun exploration, though most of the paintings aren’t something I would buy, but I can appreciate the genre. They paintings sort of look like the psychedlic stuff from the 60s. Colorful, good movement. Fun people in the Studio, nice little side trip in Little Italy.

I always LEARNSOMETHINGNEW when I come in here and spend any amount of time in here. I find that I can come in here and get happy. My goal is to one day own a Pecoff modern painting, SD painting and one of his old more ‘real’/photograph like works and put them all in the same room and explain that they are all done by the same artist. :)

We were walking in Little Italy on Saturday night and saw the colours in the staircase of the gallery. We were intrigued so we walked up the stairs and were immediately overwhelmed by the amazing colours and perspective of buildings and scenery from Hawaii to New York to Amsterdam. We spent a lot of time in there and spoke with Grant and learned about his techniques. We ended up leaving with two paintings and are very happy :)

I suggest stopping by this art gallery to look at the beautifully crafted vibrant paintings this artist has created. A must see when visiting Little Italy in San Diego.

A very nice place to happen upon. I haven’t seen the artist in his studio yet, but the lady who works there is very knowledgeable about his work and also quite personable. What I like most is that the artist has his current projects posted up in the front of the studio, overlooking Little Italy. Aside from admiring the end product, I love seeing the progression of paintings even more. This place is a definite must-see if you’re in the area.

Grant Pecoff’s art is uplifting and cheerful. My family and I stopped by his loft gallery in Little Italy, California, and were greeted by his sweet dog, Baby. Grant was in the studio, and he took the time to talk to us. This studio is an awesome place to stop at and admire. His paintings of California scenes explode with movement and color. Any of his works would make excellent presents for a person who has grown up in San Diego– His brilliant paintings of the coast, Coronado bridge, and Balboa park show a new side of familiar landmarks.

I absolutely love this gallery. In fact, it is where my fiancé and I fell in love and where I asked her to marry me. The artwork is intoxicating and it just screams with the allure of travel. The beauty is all around us and both of these artist capture that beauty. If you enjoy art, or are just our for an evening stroll, take a look at this gallery. If you like what you see as much as we did, I ma sure one of the paintings(or the books) will end up in your living room!

With the Artwalk coming up, be sure to stop by the Grant Pecoff studio. It’s right in the middle of India Street, you will not regret this walk up the stairs to the gallery(and stand during the Artwalk). Even if you’re not that much into art, you will enjoy the beauty of your hometown(San Diego) that’s been captured in a lot of the paintings. My hometown has been painted as well, with a beautiful reflection of the houses in the canal. There are paintings from coastal areas, cafes, islands and city skylines from all over the world, visiting this gallery makes me want to jump in an airplane right away. The paintings are painted in fish eye distortions and with amazing colors and color variety. Playful shadow/light reflections keep coming back, especially the reflections in the water are beautiful. Art resembles something different for everyone and more than anything words don’t do justice, but for me the paintings give me that dreamy but energetic feeling. I have a hard time picking my favorite, but from the ones that are currently up, I think«Jungle Twilight» comes close. I love the intense purple/blue/green color combination and simplicity of life that the house in the middle of nowhere resembles for me. I never thought I would write anything about art, I started to appreciate it later on, my mom would be proud of me. I still always look at art with a practical and critical eye: would I want that in my living room? I can say yes to that question, and this is the first artist I stumbled upon where I can do that because I usually always find«something». What makes these different for me is that the paintings never bore me, they’re unique and what it resembles fit my personality(at least I love to believe that). When I grow up(or consider myself as such) I plan on buying one of the paintings, that will be such an eye-catcher on a(white) wall. The hardest part is going to be to pick just one. Also, be sure to chat with Grant and his wife Layne for a little bit if you get the chance. Both are so friendly and inspirational. Grant’s wife Layne is a writer and has written the texts for two of the books you will find there and can peak into(they also sell these as well as coasters and cards with the paintings on them). One of the books is titled: «Live your Dream» and that’s exactly how you will probably leave this place: full of inspiration and energy.

I so happened to stumble across this little gallery this afternoon. The stairs actually caught my attention and my curiosity got the best of me leading me up a very steep staircase to a really unique gallery. The art inside is from a local artist who has a very interesting take on things such as San Diego’s buildings, boat scenes, etc. Vibrant colorful paintings really make this place somewhere you want to linger for a while.

I attended the Uplifting Vibrations show at the gallery this past weekend and I got the chance to not only appreciate all of the art on the walls but actually talk with Grant Pecoff and his wife Layne Pecoff. I will start with the art. They had a few artists displayed but mostly had the work of Grant Pecoff(given that it is his gallery). They also had some very moving pieces from Stephanie Clair, the expression that she created with her cubism style and simplistic faces was very apparent and warm. Then I noticed Grant work and immediately recognized it. One of my friends has a piece of his I have always loved, it is of about 10 narrow homes above a reflective river in Amsterdam, the colors used and the reflection created are so unique and awesome. I love his art and hope to one day own a few of his pieces as they would compliment any room. He also has many San Diego paintings, including one of the Coronado bridge… which elicits a very interesting story of how he met his wife Layne. She had seen this painting for the first time a week before her parents came into town. When she was showing them around Del Mar she remembered it and brought them over to the window to check it out as she went on and on about how much she loved it. A guy was also looking at it from outside of the window and let her know there was a marching band on the side of the beach that day, that man was Grant Pecoff and only 5 weeks after that moment, they went on a trip to Europe together and had gotten married. Layne is full of happiness and it radiates to you when talking with her. She provides such a warm and comfortable aura and will leave you in positive thought after conversing with her. She writes the children’s books with Grant’s art next to the words, I have read through some of them and would recommend to any parent who hopes for an active imagination for their young one. The art and words dance and mingle in a lively fashion that stirs even an adult mind. If you are in the Little Italy area and you are look for an uplifting gift for your eyes and mind, please oh please, come on in and surround yourself with beauty.
