IHOP san marcos… how long has IHOP been around? how many kinds of pancakes do they have? No gluten free cakes. how sad. I went down the block to Broken yolk and spent $ 30 on breakfast. their cakes aren’t spectacular, but at least they offer them. come on IHOP, when you gonna get on board?

Horrible! Staff was rude and unfriendly. Unless you like bad food avoid this place. We will never be back.

My dad and I went in there tonight. I don’t know if its the location. So many restaurants there have failed. It took 15 minutes to get water. Then they messed up our order, after when we were paying up front the cashier didn’t say one word. Although the actual inside of the restaurant is spaced out well. To be honest I don’t think it will be there in a year.

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon after driving to San Diego for a funeral — there were 6 of us. We were seated almost instantly, and our waitress was amazing and super attentive. She made sure we had everything we needed at all times. If she wasn’t sure, she went straight to the manager(who deserves his own review) and got an answer for us almost immediately. Anyway, she took our order, brought our drinks and kept checking on us. Once our food arrived, the manager came out with her and greeted us. He was VERY friendly. He even recommended to mix ranch with the hot sauce(which was amazing — you should definitely try it!) and made sure if we didn’t like it, we knew we could get more ranch. He also came and checked on us a few more times before we were done. Then came time to pay — our waitress was ringing us up and we asked if our coupon that we had from LA(where we came from) would be valid… she said she needed to check with her manager and she went to hunt him down, he came out with her and he let us know that he would authorize it for us. He questioned why it was from LA(jokingly) and we told him we came for a funeral and he IMMEDIATELY offered his condolences and it was so genuine it felt like we had known him forever. We told him that their service there was GREAT! If we didn’t live so far, that would be our new breakfast stop. but we will DEFINITELY stop by whenever we are in the area! Thank you guys so much for working so hard and making us feel so comfortable. You guys are truly amazing and should definitely be recognized. –The Medinas

My day did not start that great I had an appointment with my mechanic and my car is more damage than I expected. So as he working in my car me and my girlfriend decided to have breakfast here. As we walked in I was greeted by Walt or Walter, I believe he is one of the manager, my girlfriend was giving me a hard time so he gave her a hard time as well(non disrespectful) just having my back. His attitude was so positive it rubbed off and made me forget about my not so great day. We sat in Tamara S. Section, she was great! I eat out a lot and I am not a morning person but the entire restaurant staff had a so up beat attitude it rubs off. I recommend this place, even if you just come for coffee. Both of the managers kept checking on every table, servers were alert food was excellent! Great job folks! Keep up the great work. I live in Escondido but I will definitely be back to this location.

We were there this morning and our server was on point, our food came out so fast and we didn’t even have to wait long for our table, everything tasted great and we left full and happy.

So hubs and I went to this location since we have a storage unit across the street, and we had expected the place to be worth while. Our waitress didn’t seem very pleased with us at all, which is why I’m taking off a star, maybe she was having a rough morning? I thought, but nope‘as she starts to take another table’s order she seemed extremely happy and dandy, but as soon as she came over to us? The worst disgusted type of face she had on. We anticipated to dine in, but due to hubs and his peers needs we had to take it to-go. The food could have been packaged better, and honestly priced a little bit better. I had asked our waitress if they were able to have a side of mac and cheese(y’know only expecting to spend around 3 dollars max for it) instead, we were forced to place the kids meal order(in which the amount wasn’t even every much and the taste was so bland, worst than Kraft’s boxed mac and cheese) There was even some missing items in our bags! But that was a shame on us for not even double checking anything! I’d rather spend my money on Denny’s/Norms.

Great experience here. Staff was very friendly and service was great. Portions were larger than expected and when I asked to substitute fruit for the toast, the waiter did so willingly and without an up charge like most other IHOPs. Nice! Thanks for a lovely breakfast

I love me some IHOP pancakes with their butter pecan syrup that combination in itself deserves five stars. The only reason why dislocation receive three stores is because we received below average customer service. I definitely do understand if they were short staff, but it just seem like the waiter didn’t care. He was nice but very lax for the situation. But even though the customer service was not great, the food from my iPad is always great. My family and I had breakfast for dinner, you can never go wrong with that. If you’re watching your weight or watching what you eat you can order the T-bone steak with egg whites and pancakes. I believe I helps always a good time especially for A group of people. in their pancakes are to die for, I recommend going back again I have paving at this location but deafly if you want pancakes go to IHOP.

Over the top hospitality(4 «good mornings» before I was seated) great service and happy atmosphere. Best IHOP I’ve visited. Food was average.

If we had zero stars they would get it. Same crap every time I come to ihop. Usually once a year and only when everyone else chooses it. Terrible service. Terrible food

Went there because my wife was craving pancakes. Herman was the only server there. He apologized for the wait. In all honesty, his service and attention was better than some restaurants I have been to with 3 tables to a waiter. He was taking care of the entire floor. OUTSTANDING!

Always treated well, quick service and very good food for this type of restaurant; greeted consistently with courtesy, esp. from hostess Marley…& I’m sure all others who work the front area. We’ll be going fairly often.

I like this ihop the best out of all of the ones in town. The food is at the same level, but it is so much cleaner than the other ones. It looks like this staff actually cares about the restaurant. I love honest employees when it comes to recommending food, however our server was a little rude about it. My boyfriend asked his advice between 3 items and the item the employee did not recommend was the one item that my boyfriend wanted to order. When he placed the order, the server was like, «I told you it’s not good, you’re not going to like it, but okay.» I thought that was a bit much. It’s one thing to be honest, another thing to create buyers remorse for your customers. I would recommend anyone to this ihop, just don’t ask your server for recommendations!

This LOCATION has been our«go to» spot for breakfast every year for the past 15 years when going to the MCAS Miramar airshow. Granted, up until two years ago it was called, Keith’s Family Restaurant, but we didn’t find this out until someone that was going to meet us there was totally confused and called us to say that there wasn’t a restaurant by that name there and that it was an IHOP! We didn’t know that of course, because last year’s airshow was cancelled. IHOP is IHOP. You know what you are getting and what we got here was outstanding customer service and outstanding chow. We had a party of 10 and they were able to seat us right away. We split our checks and no complaints. We ordered our food and everything came out almost all at the same time. As always, omelet was big enough to share. Coffee was hot, and they had flavored creamers too.

Most awful experience ever! Everything we ordered was wrong, 2 hours to finally get the food! Management was beyond poor. Save your time and go somewhere else!

This dinner started off pretty good. Friendly server, not many people dining here. It did take us a while to order between deciding on food and kids having to use the bathroom. After ordering is where everything went down hill. Food took a while, with one of the kids meals coming out last. My French toast was burnt with the rest of my food kind of warm. I spent most of my meal with an empty cup and no sign of our server. We waited at least 10 minutes after we were done with our meal to have our server check in with us. We ordered desserts and more drinks. Kids desserts came pretty quick. Over twenty minutes later we got our desert which was hard to cut with a fork. All in all, this experience took 1 hour 45 minutes. Another plus would have been if the server would have asked to split the ticket. Instead of waiting longer, we figured it out on our own. I will not be returning to this IHOP. I hope it didn’t ruin me for the rest of the company.

Comfort food cravings can only be satisfied with a heaping plate of breakfast sausage, hash browns, eggs your way, a stack of pancakes and mucho syrup all over everything — and this IHOP is one place to get such a morning feast. The food comes out quickly, and the service is excellent! IHOP recently introduced sweet cream cheese crepes to their menu. You can choose your preferred fruit topping with the crêpe. I kind of left my fruit stuff to the side, since it looked goopy. I ate the whole sweet cream cheese crêpe. I think it sounded better than it tasted, but it was still okay. I was a little disappointed by my food. For some reason, I liked the food a lot more at the IHOP in San Marcos. No worries though, could’ve been a one-off time. If you’re looking for a fast-casual restaurant with simple diner food, this IHOP can be a convenient and quick place to grab a bite. Love the service here!

The Mira Mesa and Penasquitos locations have a new member added to the IHOP family. Parked right off the I-15 fwy off ramp, this ex-Brians, ex-Keiths diner has made a major upgrade in honor of all purveyors of flapjacks. Interesting how they made a tall fence with trees to shield the view of the Shell gas station next door. Serving pancakes, burgers and popular diner favorites at all hours of the day, traffic through this once quiet street will be heavy, especially on Sunday mornings. Denny’s down the freeway has competition.
