I was recently in San Diego on business, found this place on Unilocal, and decided to give it a shot. It was a Friday night, so it was a little dead, but don’t let that fool you. The service was fantastic and the food was awesome. I went for the create-your-own poke salad bowl, and every bit of it was awesome. Highly recommend!

I’m giving this place a one star not because of the food but because of the service. Don’t try and do an online order because they will either not receive it or they will get it wrong and blame it on you. The girl at the register was rude and decided to yell at me and pretty much tell me it was my fault in front of everyone in line. They aren’t cheap so when you order a medium poke salad and they mess up and give you a small salad and then just transfer it to a bigger box but don’t add anymore to it your costumer will complain. When you order online they make you choose the size twice but charge you extra which makes no sense to me. When I went to pick up my order and pay I mentioned it to her and she said we know about it but we don’t charge you, you just need to pick it and we fix it on our end. Ok so anyone ordering online just needs to know that??? Aside from the rude register girl the food is pretty good and the portions are decent except for in my case today. With that said, I’m never going back and I’m letting others in my office know so it doesn’t happen to them. Looks like I’ll be going elsewhere for poke.

I’ve gone here solely for poké, and have yet to be disappointed. Enough protein to fill you and avocados are perfectly ripe to eat, eating here has always left me satisfied and a happy customer. Great for lunch!

It’s been a while since I’ve had decent Asian food in downtown. I brought a group of people here who wanted a good sushi and/or ramen experience. This place does not disappoint, the egg roll appetizers, mixed tempura, and miso soup are really good starters. I enjoyed the Shio Ramen as well as the dragon hand rolled sushi along with kappa rolls, you can taste the fresh ingredients in each dish. Overall a very good place to have lunch or dinner at.

This is not your typical ramen resturant. It’s more of a grab and go type of place. I came here for lunch today and it was relatively busy. You go to the cash register to order your food and then get a number. The sever then delivers the food to you when it is ready. I ordered the shoyu ramen which includes ramen noodles, two slices of meat, half an egg, bamboo shoots, and other ingredients. I thought that the meat tasted pretty bad. It’s not the typical meat you would get when you order ramen. The broth was mediocre. Overall, okay place downtown. It’s not as authentic/tasty as other ramen paces.

This place offers Ramen and sushi, usually it’s one or the other. So I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this place ended up passing with flying colors! The sushi actually was the highlight, the girlfriend roll is amazing! I also got kiss of fire roll along with a bowl of Ramen. Both of those options also were also good, making this place a spot to go to in my opinion. It’s a small little place in downtown, I’ll be back to get more sushi for sure. The waitress did a nice job and was very attentive. She was right there if I needed something and paid attention, which I appreciated. All in all I enjoyed my experience here and would recommend people to this place. I can’t promise you’ll find anything mind blowing but I’m thinking you might, and you’ll probably enjoy the experience. Happy eating!

walked over a mile to come here based on Unilocal reviews and this time i think i should have followed my instinct. I walked in and realized there was no sushi bar, there is a hidden kitchen in the back and a small salad bar next to the register. Famished and tired, i decided to try this place. I didn’t feel it was fresh and i really thought the shrimp crunchy roll should contain fried crunchy tempura instead of the soft old tempura from potentially the night before. Service was quick, rush hour(lunch hour). Don’t think i would return, the woman who brought my sushi to the table was very nice and attentive so i rate three stars for her service. Food was meh: /

I just discovered this place and I’m so upset it took me this long! It’s conveniently a few blocks from my office, great for lunch or grabbing dinner for a late night in the office. I used to get their chicken teriyaki bowls(very hard to find good teriyaki in San Diego) which are very good but a coworker just opened my world to their sushi selection and I haven’t been able to go back ever since. They have lots of rolls, good quality fish and all very well priced! My personal fave is the Hawaiian roll and my coworkers love the lemon roll which is also harder to find. Aaaand they have poke bowls which are huge and so good! These fill you up for sure so if you are extra hungry do the poke bowl. Overall really great hole in the wall downtown. Really good prices for the quality of food you get. I’d recommend to anyone working in the area!

Pros Poke Salad: The only reason why I give this place 3 stars versus 2 stars was their poke. It’s a typical DIY poke style service where you choose your base, proteins, and toppings. The sauces were okay but their portions were very generous. They don’t charge extra for the crab salad and seaweed. Prices: The prices for all their menu items were super cheap and it’s a great place to grab an inexpensive meal. They also offer smaller sizes for their rice bowls, poke, ramen which is great since you can mix and match items on their extensive menu without spending too much. Cons Teriyaki Chicken: The chicken needed more grilling since it was close to being under cooked and the teriyaki sauce was too thick and slimy. I barely ate the rice since it was mushy and wet. However I was impressed with the portions for the«mini» chicken teriyaki bowl since it was more than enough food for what they call a small serving and it even came with a small bowl of miso soup which is included in all their rice bowls.

I tried three ramen places while I was visiting san diego. The tokatsu ramen here was just ok. The broth wasn’t as rich as the other places. It had ginger which I don’t like. The meat was also really dry. The avocado and tuna sushi was fresh and delicious. Not too bad of a place for a quick bite during lunch.

I’m writing this review after being a regular here for several months now. I’d say we come here at least once a week, every other week at the very least. When I first came here I was blown away by the food and service. Over time, both have seemed to dwindle. The service especially. When we first came, they would greet us when we walked in and ask how we were doing. They would joke about how often we came in. After we were apparently regulars, this all stopped. Completely. I’ve never experienced this before. Usually when you become a regular somewhere, the owner/employees are even more friendly. It was almost as if they didn’t feel the need to earn our business anymore. There have been several times when we have come in and there are no other people in the restaurant(which is often the case) and the owner/chef literally walks out the door without even acknowledging us. Like literally leaves so that there is no one there to make our order. Several times, the women who runs the place with him has had to walk behind the counter and try to make our food for us because he doesn’t come back in time. The past several times we’ve come in, we haven’t been greeted by anyone. Despite being the only ones there. Today, I ordered online and the only thing they said to me while I was there was confirming if my order was the one on the receipt. After that, nothing. No thank you. Nothing. Just put our food and bill on the table and walked away. The portions also seem to be getting smaller. We order the same thing almost every time. The large poke bowl with an extra scoop of fish. That’s 5 total scoops of fish so the size should always be the same. It isn’t. I also ALWAYS ask for extra ginger and NEVER get it. I have even written it down and asked the chef directly and still, nothing. I’ll give them 3 stars because, overall, I still enjoy their food and will continue to go because its by my apartment and its very convenient. But man, I’m so disappointed.

I came here so excited for Ramen because I live in Florida where there is none. When I walked in the door, the girl there looked bored out of her mind and kind of annoyed that she had to seat me. I ordered the shio ramen and when I got it, it had no flavor(tasted like water) and the noodles were all stuck together. The meat was dry. Omg I just wanted to cry because it is my favorite food! Anyway, I almost always suck ALL the broth down but I just pushed my bowl away in total disappointment. I’m sure there are much better ramen places elsewhere. Don’t recommend.

Finding good poke bowls in San Diego is pretty difficult. I love how the concept is definitely spreading down past LA. Ramaki is a quaint sushi place located on the corner of 6th and B. I don’t know what I was expecting when I Walked in this place but it is really smaller than I expected. I love the fact that you get to create your own poke bowl on a piece of paper. I got half and half(half rice and half salad) with a double scoop of ahi tuna, with the seas and shoyu dressing and a side of citrus mayo, topped with all the goodies I liked the best on their menu list. They literally pack your bowl to as much as they can and will give you your money’s worth. I consider myself a big eater but the small was more than filling for my needs. The fish was fresh and I’m glad it didn’t have an ranks fishy taste. My only complaint was that despite my bowl being a small size I wish they would give a bigger bowl. So that I can mix everything together. Find a meter for a parking and explore the streets of Downtown San Diego when your finished.

I got the chicken ramen to-go. It was decent. The noodles were not too overcooked, though I like mine a little more al dente. The chicken broth was salty, but I am okay with that. It had decent flavor, but it was nothing out of the common way. The ramen itself came with a few pieces of chicken and some bean sprouts. I didn’t like the fact that there weren’t many vegetables or anything much to make this ramen stand out on its own. Rather than chili oil, all they seem to have is sriracha, which isn’t bad, but it’s also not chili oil. Overall, it was decent ramen, just not great or amazing ramen. I’ll be back to give this place another try. I’ve read much better things about the sushi and teriyaki. But I won’t come back here for ramen.

Love their Poke love the fresh seafood in the sushi! Great vibe to the restaurant! Not huge not tiny, very nice little hole in the wall. Hidden treasure in downtown. I think this place would succeed even more of it was in an area where parking isn’t so hard to come by. Metered parking around the corner, up the hill, yellow parking spots avail able after 6; however, if you do manage to find a parking spot don’t pass up on this place. It’s worth the 2 block walk. Food/service definitely a Create your own Poke bowl with the topping available and trust the chef will have an even balance of sauce the toppings! Friendly staff

This is a must visit location for all San Diego natives and tourists alike! Beautiful family owned restaurant… The staff is very professional, friendly, and eager to help with any questions about the menu. If you have Jasmine as your waitress you are very lucky! She is very knowledgable about the items on the menu and helped us decide on the the Kiss of Fire(which was AMAZING), albacore delight, and the caterpillar(which is the cutest sushi roll I’ve ever eaten)! The chef, Jae, even let us try an item that he is testing for the menu !!! He mentioned to us that all items on the FOURPAGE menu were all made from exclusively fresh ingredients… YUM! All in all this is a VERY cute family owned haven for all things sushi nestled in the heart of San Diego. I’m taking my coworker’s here next week for a lil treat ! I highly recommend this place to ANYONE who enjoys sushi or wants to support family owned businesses.

I don’t know how this place has 4.5 stars. Everything a group of friends and I got was so bad, boring, and down right undesirable. The ramen, with their«extra flavorful» broth, was extra bland. We had to jazz it up ourselves with some lemon and soy sauce. At the table we got 2 rolls as well. Half of one was left because we really didn’t enjoy it. Then there were the sweet potato fries… I didn’t try any because every single person at the table that had one did not like it and they kind of pushed the rest to the side. Overall they had nice staff but the poor was very sub par.

Ramen was awesome! Only wish the portion was a little bit larger. Price point was slightly higher than most other Ramen spots I typically eat at, however the quality & taste was top tier! Excited to have this new little gem on my block :)

Was very delighted to find this little gem downtown. It’s everything you wanted from Japanese cuisine without the ridiculous crowds and wait times downtown. I had the teriyaki chicken nigiri combo. Decently priced and tasted good. What solidified my trust in this place was the salmon skin hand roll that was perfect. I ordered to go and it came in a beautiful little detailed box. This place has a poke salad bar and yakisoba combos. Definitely coming back.

Stopped into Ramaki because I kept walking by it. You know the feeling when something is different on street you walk on often, and you keep feeling that feeling until you stop and say«WAIT! This place is newish! I have yet to unleash my unholy hunger on this poor establishment!» So dinner it was! The prices are really inexpensive and the portions are very good. So I want to warn anyone who is going in with big eyes and a smaller tummy. The sushi isn’t out of this world but it is good, and I was well the next day. I can dig it! The service was a tad slow because it was slammed for dinner on a night where it should have been pretty empty. That was ok. I was able to take a few rests in order to stuff myself a bit more. The chef came around to check on everyone and it felt like a family establishment or at the very least super friendly. Next time I will have more than the noodles and simple sushi rolls to really get into the menu. It will be easy with their super great prices!

They recently started staying open a little later. Had dinner and a few drinks there. We decided to sit outside. The sushi chef came out several times to make sure everything was good. He even brought us a free shit of some plum saki. Very personable person. He’s even certified to serve puffer fish. Too bad they don’t serve that here,

Had to try this«new» sushi place in downtown with my friend who always goes out with me to have sushi! As soon as we arrived, I realized that this place still has the name of the old restaurant on the outside. I was confused at first, but then the menu offerings told me to just enjoy what’s on the menu! I had to try the Poke Bar which let me build my own poke bowl. It was delish! The fish was fresh! There are so many rolls that I want to try… so I’m definitely going to have to come back. We ordered the gyoza… perfectly fried and the the sauce has a little bit of a kick! My friend was able to order a sushi roll that had no raw fish… and the other ordered the chicken teriyaki combo that comes with soup. The service was fast and friendly. We had stayed to talk and by the end we had received a tasting of their sweet potato fries which were very tasty!

Love the make your own poke bowl concept. Size variety and taste are all on point and they’ve certainly made a regular out of me when I’m down at the office. They serve a generous portion, even for the small size, and its very fairly priced. There are lots of options, from the type of fish, to the seasoning sauce, to the toppings, and the base(rice/salad/half&half). As long as you like raw fish, there are definitely enough combinations here to keep you a happy camper. Ramen was a little less impressive. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I like my ramen to pack a real punch of flavor and for the whole bowl to really come together. The broth was good but mild — tasty to drink but not flavorful enough to give the noodles any flavor. The tonkatsu had a great sear but most of it was too fatty to eat. Noodles were on the soft side, which is a plus for me, but a minus for others. A fairly simple place but definitely not one turn up your nose at. Gets busy at lunch, consider takeout!
