I’m not sure if this was just a bad visit, but it was my first and I don’t think I will be returning. I went in on a Sunday afternoon with no more than 10 customers in the shop, but had to stand in line for 20 minutes to even place my order. There were only 3 – 4 people in front of me. It then took at least 30 minutes to get my food. By that time I already had to leave and ask for my food to go. Hopefully with more than 2 staff, this could be improved.

Fantastic ambiance. Live music most of the time. Homemade scones are so moist with a little crunch on the outside. Jam served with is dip your spoon in and eat good! Very friendly and bring your dog! Just had drip coffee. But it was hot and smooth.

Fantastic service, great atmosphere, and coffee that will not disappoint. Will definitely be back. I was having a particularly bad morning and went for a long walk to blow off some steam. I arrived here and noticed that they weren’t able to take cards(I had no cash on me), so I turned and walked out the door. A very sweet woman popped her head out of the door on the side of the building and gave me a coffee, free of charge. Really brightened my day.

My friend chose this place to meet up and I expected a lot more from the reviews. Sadly I missed a lot of reviews that states they don’t accept cards. So yea wasn’t too happy about that, never heard of a place that doesn’t accept cards… When I ordered a Cuban latte, the worker stared at me with deer in the headlight eyes. I was confused on what to do at that point. Drinks I agree are fairly priced but I just wasn’t too impressed. It tastes like any other latte… It was a hassle for me and although my drink wasn’t bad I got a headache of this place. Had to inconveniently walk to the liquor still near by to get cash. Charges you $ 2.95 lol but at that point I paid for street parking already and didn’t know where else to get cash. They should have a big sign stating they don’t take cards before entering. Maybe I missed it?

Rebecca is so kind-hearted and an amazing cook too! Amazing scones and homemade jams! She is also a big support in the community giving back. The café is a little slow so I wouldn’t go there if u r in a rush but perfect place to relax and enjoy some live talent on certain days

Let me start by saying I’ve never actually tried the coffee here, so I can’t speak to that. But I have had other beverages(tea, usually) and tried some of their baked goods. They offer breakfast foods, baked goods — gluten free and vegan options, along with random things like hard boiled eggs, which my dogs enjoy. Which brings me to dogs — Rebecca’s is very dog friendly. Back when I first stopped in here some years ago after a visit to the Grape Street Dog Park, I was amazed to see people walking right in with their dog — I had never seen someplace so dog friendly! How nice :) There’s sofas to lounge on, or tables and chairs, and also outdoor seating. I also spotted board games on a shelf for people to play. As previous reviewers have mentioned, food does take a bit, so don’t come here expecting fast food — it is a coffee shop after all!

Great food, coffee, and entertainment. Fair prices. Don’t be in a hurry food can take a minute but worth the wait.

I really like Rebecca’s. How cool is it that the owner, Rebecca, works behind the counter? Everyone else that works there is friendly. No snooty baristas. Rebecca’s is similar to coffee houses like Lestats, but more mellow. There are comfy couches, and interesting people. The teas are really good. I especially enjoy the blood orange herbal tea. I get it on the regular. A huge perk is that they have lots of delicious gluten free pastries. This is a huge selling point for me, because not many other spots cater to GF folks in that way. It’s totally cozy and relaxing and people actually smile at one another instead of pretending the warm bodies nearby are invisible. It feels very welcoming in that way. There is also always eye candy. A couple I’ve seen more than once, but I doubt I’ll ever say hi. It’s also a good spot to go on a first date. If the dude can’t hang with the vintagey vibe, then they are a no-go. Good to get that out of the way initially.

I’m a musician and I came here for the first time tonight. Nothing but great vibes, good drinks, and great, diverse musical performances. I didn’t know it was a cash only place so I didn’t have cash. The Batista had already made my drink and gave me a slip to remind me to pay her next time I came in. This place is wonderful. I’ll be back shortly to pay for my drink, buy another, and play more music. Highly recommend.

Amazing coffee. Highly recommend the dirty chai latte. Laid back setting and they had live music when we were there on a Sunday morning.

Only been here a handful of times. The coffee is great, there seasonal lattes like the pumpkin spice is amazing. They also host local artist such as bands, musicians and comedians. This place is huge with couches inside and tables outside. They are super dog friendly. I will never forget the first time I came here(just moved from NYC), I ordered a latte and when I went to pay with a debit card the cashier said they don’t take cards. I was completely shocked and there were no atms near by. So what did she do… She gave me a IOU card so I can pay whenever I came back(this would never slide in NYC). Rebeccas made me feel at home and like a local.

No credit card or bitcoin accepted. Kinda dumpy inside. Staff was not attentive even during an uncrowded mid-weekday visit.

Went with a friend this morning at 9:45am. The place was not busy at all. Ordered a bagel and egg sandwich and coffee. It took 20 minutes to get our food. Twenty minutes! I can understand if they had a crowd but they didn’t. The food was rather bland. I like this place. I like the cozy atmosphere. But they have to do something about the slow service. Even ordering takes a long time. If I go back it will probably only be for coffee.

At Rebecas the staff is Über nice. So This could be a good place but like most non-corporate places, they are so poorly run. I literally clocked someone coming in at 1:56 with seven people ahead of them and getting their order in at 2:08 and that’s with four people leaving the line. This means that it takes nearly 4 minutes per customer. One person waited 16 minutes with four customers ahead of them. Those four people probably took $ 30-$ 40 of business with them just because the wait was ridiculous. Someone was had to wait ten minutes to put in an order. I doubt I’ve ever waited that long in a Starbucks. Maybe the slowness is a San Diego thing, so def not a place to go to if you are in a hurry. In all other respects the food choice is decent, there is lots of space, bands perform here and they have books and games and coffee is average. Their hours are ok as they close much earlier than most coffee shops. Another example of how and why Starbucks conquered the world.

Dear Rebecca, Your café kinda sucks. At least in the customer service department. I wouldn’t know about your coffee or food because I never received my order. I stopped by today because I was worn out after my walk from North Park. When I went in, there was a line. Usually that’s a good sign, so I waited. After about 10 minutes it was my turn to order. I ordered two iced Vietnamese coffees and a lemon bar. The woman behind the counter informed me that they only took cash. She said she’d write me and IOU, and that could go to the ATM at the liquor store across the street. Cool. So I lugged my 2 year old and the stroller over to the ATM. Took out $ 20, got charged an annoying ATM fee and went back to the coffee shop. There was yet another long line, so I went to the side of the counter and let the woman know I had the cash. She acknowledged me, and said she’d have my order in just a second. I stayed by the side of the counter and watched as she proceeded to make drinks and take food orders for about 5 or 6 other people. Eventually I sat down on one of the giant chairs. My daughter was starting to get antsy. I attempted to make eye contact with the barista. Nothing. At that point I was irritated, my daughter was on the verge of a tantrum, and I could feel my blood sugar dropping. We left. Without coffee or food. We definitely won’t be back.

Rebecca’s Coffee is somewhere I’d go to study for several hours. It was as quiet as a library, and had plenty of large tables and couches, though it’s pretty hot on summer days since there’s no ac. It was really nice because OC doesn’t really have anywhere quite like here. On the flip side, if you’re wanting to meet a friend, I would go somewhere that is a bit more loud or sitting outside. I felt like I would annoy everyyyyone in there if I was chatting away, which is a bummer. The coffee itself was okay, I got the drip coffee, black and it tasted like foldgers, and there was an impressive pile of coffee grounds at the tail end of my drink… I’m really picky about that kind of thing. May have been just a fluke because I did have a sip of my boyfriend’s dirty chai and it was FANTASTIC. On my last bit of this review, I want to mention how amazing the service was. I got a regular coffee, and didn’t realize they didn’t take card until after I ordered. She just took my total and put it on tab. Next time I’m here I’ll be bringing her cash for the coffees, but also a fat tip. You don’t get many places in cali that do that kind of thing. Takes me back home!

I have been wanting to visit this place for quite some time now. I am in the neighborhood for a few and finally made it in for their prized freshly baked, still warm, sell-out way too early Scones. The scone held up to its’ hype and pleased on multiple levels. Salty & flakey like a biscuit, yet subtly sweet and moist. The butter comes through and the strawberry preserves seal the deal. This being my first official visit, I was graced by the presence of the legend herself– Rebecca! This café made me feel at home and I could see Rebecca was the working force behind my wonderful scone(picture red apron, dusted with flour)! Great space for meeting, music, reading your own book or checking out their comm. library, and people watching. They also welcomed the little dog I am watching with open-arms, providing him with treats and water. Good place, so Go!

It’s a neighborhood coffee shop and I like and prefer neighborhood coffee shops over the chain places. However… at least when I go to the chain places I know I’ll be able to order off the menu and get what I want. On more than one occasion I’ve gone into Rebecca’s only to find out that they were either 1) out of one or two things I’d been hoping for, or 2) didn’t have groceries at all and could only do bagels or pastries. The latter is what happened on my most recent visit. I’d just finished up at the gym, was starving, and wanted a turkey bagel sandwich… but the shop was short staffed and«had no groceries.» I resorted to a vegan pesto with tomato bagel, had one bite of the bagel and couldn’t eat anymore. The pesto tasted like pure garlic(I think?) and I just couldn’t stomach it. To be fair, my boyfriend thought it tasted fine, so he took it home and ate it later. I want to like it more, but it’s just so hit or miss for me. I’m sure I’ll go back, but it won’t ever be a first choice place for me.

I like this place for working because it is big and spacious. It has a homey, quirky feel. The vegan banana walnut(I think) muffin was really good! They have open mic nights. Wifi speed Ping 17.10 ms Download 7.38 Mbps Upload 2.45 Mbps
