Found this Starbucks after a loooonnnnggggg day of drinking bad hotel coffee at a work conference. Pretty standard location. It’s buried in a shopping center so be on the lookout. Not familiar with the area so had to circle around the block twice since it’s sort of hidden from view. It was late in the afternoon and pretty busy so the place/bar area looked a wee bit unkempt. Energetic, young baristas singing Morrissey while they prep your coffee. Nice staff. There’s a Peet’s Coffee within a couple blocks of this location if you are looking for a Starbucks alternative.

Love the new location. Finally a Starbucks with a decent amount of room to wait for your coffee. I never knew that standing in line and waiting for coffee would be such a big part of my existence… But it is. Friendly Starbucks folk as always behind the counter. Really cool high top tables too. I’m a fan.

My first 5-star review for any Starbucks. This location is a little challenging to find, but I was quite impressed w/the cozinesd of this location. I came in at 7:45am on a Wednesday and was pleasantly surprised that there was no crazy line upon my arrival. There is no drive-thru, which actually makes for faster service. There were 4 people on bar and they were ALL friendly, fast, and efficient. I ordered a tall soy latte and a low-fat reduced fat breakfast sandwich. My sandwich was ready in 2 mins. My latte was ready in 4. Out of curiousity, I timed how long it takes for the average customer from start to finish. Woman walked thru door at 8:04, ordered some kind of latte. Her drink was ready at 8:07(venti decaf peppermint mocha). Out the door at 8:07.

I was in bright, early, and cold Sunday morning. My biggest priority is getting my drink, not a friendly smile, but today it was both. Anna was the barista who helped me and she was very friendly and sincere… nice way to start off a cold morning! I don’t go out of my way to write a lot of reviews, but some people are just deserving of the effort.

Service was quick and the baristas were awesome. You can tell there are a lot of locals because they were catching up and asking about their kids. Always nice to see that type of connection.

I really love this place and its energy. I’ve lived in Rancho Bernardo for 15 years and always went to the old Starbucks near Vons. I was so happy to learn that they were opening up a new and bigger one next to CVS. I work right by the area and go to this Starbucks every day. The baristas are all so amazing. Shout out to Natasha, Sergio, Jacob and Taylor. They always bring a smile to my face and all know me and my order by heart. This is my Cheers! Thank you!!!

Walked in this morning, ordered and waited, and waited and waited, so I finally get up, and my coffee was there, unfortunately it was wrong, Soni tell her and she makes this face that she knows nothing about it, as she is the only barista there… horrible…you dont mess with a person’s coffee at 6am.

I really like this rather large Starbucks with plenty of room for study groups, not that came for a study group, but simply pointing it out. I came in for grande cold brew and to get some work done via there internet use. Oh yes, I just had to have one of those petite vanilla bean scones which I made quick work of. The cold brew was terrific as usual. It had that great smooth and rich flavor that went down easy and provided a great kick which lasted well into the few hours I was there working. The cold brew was well main because even after being iced, it still maintained its great flavor and strength. The petite vanilla bean scone was quite the treat and I really liked the vanilla icing on top. The lady at the counter was great. She had a great sense of humor, simply because she laughed at my jokes and she provided service with a smile. The restroom was clean and in good order and the Wi-Fi worked very well. A great Starbucks for working…

Really inviting starbucks! Plenty of seating– tables, couches, high stools, and a nice large outdoor patio. Beverages are typical starbucks beverages. I ordered two kids chocolate milks, two cake pops(yes, I know. mother of the year over here– HAHA!), and water for myself. Baristas were friendly and efficient. I’ll be back!

I have been to this Starbucks at least 5 times. All I can say is I have been disappointed about 5 out of the 6. The cashiers do not understand the menu if deviate from the set one. There never seems to be enough help for the baristas. I has waited up to 15 mins for my coffee with one barista and others wandering around the back. The last time I just walked out. Never going back

I frequent starbucks daily, sometimes twice a day. From Rancho Bernardo to Scripps Ranch. Every time I go into this particular starbucks, the line is always very long, not that I mind waiting… But the staff is chatting amongst each other. There is one employee making drinks, one at the register and the other 3 are talking, walking around, laughing and having a great time. Meanwhile the line is practically out the door and drinks are backing up. This is every single time I go in there! I’m all for enjoying your job and people you work with. But not at the expense of the customers. Extremely disappointed in the service at this location.

I looove this Starbucks. It is always busy but worth the wait. They always have the hearty veggie salad almost like it is waiting for me! The people who work there are so kind and friendly and that’s something that really sets apart this Starbucks from others. I’ve worked in the service industry before and it is definitely challenging to balance all of the madness with orders and remaining calm and most importantly, holding a smile! I love going there in the mornings it is a great positive start to my day.

There is am guy that works here that looks like he is in his 40s is a complete d!$&! I order all my drink and he seemed like he just wanted me to stop ordering and get it over with. But when I orderd a chocolate chip cookie warmed up he got so mad. He actually yelled super loud GODSODIFFICULT! people looked at him a his co worker was kinda like what the heck. He then pretended lime the register would take my card. The guy is a complete ass and probably hates his life and his job.

I used to visit Starbucks in this same strip mall before it moved over to its new spot and the reason I stopped using this location was because of the attitude from one of their baristas. I am not entirely certain if Connie is the barista I recall from the previous location but she certainly embodied the poor attitude and rude demeanor I expected at the old location. And I do recall that unless you are 45+ or a «regular» you’re not going to receive expected(not even good) customer service from her. Example — i regularly(3 times per week) order a venti green tea, unsweetened, no water. The tea I got this morning was either brewed weak(in a rush so it doesn’t brew for 5mins) or they added water to the batch before serving. Regardless when you order the same drink regularly you know what it tastes like. My girlfriend asked for the tea to be remade and was informed it hadn’t been watered down. This wouldn’t have been an issues but for Connie’s attitude and approach, my gf walked away and told me about their interaction. I asked for the tea to be remade, when it was the result was still the same. Btw my girlfriend was a barista in San Marcos for 3 years. I can honestly say I am bummed about this, I love Starbucks, I have my gold card, I’ve managed to make first name friends with baristas at several locations around SD. This location is really nice, shaded outdoor seating, plenty of room on the inside. I just had to reduce my number of stars given based on how we were treated this morning. I’ll continue using one of the other RB spots even though it’s out of my way. For me good customer service goes a long way. And it is something I expect from Starbucks as it’s something this company is known for aside from coffee.

This is the new spacious Starbucks located in Rancho Bernardo. The location has moved next to the Big 5 Sporting goods store. It has the new«Clover» coffee machine! One has to order a «Clover» brewed coffee. This special way to brew coffee by using an infused method keeps Starbucks ahead of the competition!

Let me tells ya what sticks out the most and the brightest in this new Starbucks(that just moved from their dumpy location in the same plaza). SEPARATE men and women’s bathrooms. AND… wait for it… The women’s bathroom has TWO stalls. Bless you Starbucks in this RB plaza. Bless your little coffee heart. I’ve never seen a Starbucks with separate men/women bathrooms AND have more than one stall in a bathroom. It seriously felt like magic when I saw the two stalls. A bit dramatic I can be… true…but try waiting for a one person restroom the next time you’re at an SB with stomach pains and then you’ll get it. The new store is beautiful as well as comfortable. I don’t like this particular location in the strip as it’s more tucked away and parking sucked in this part of plaza. The baristas were nice and my iced coffee was prepared quickly and tasted fine. The patrons out front in the patio seemed to be comfortable and relaxed under the beautiful sun this afternoon as well. So yeah, this Starbucks is great and would come back in a heartbeat.

Brand new Starbucks that opened at the other end of the plaza. It’s a Starbucks so you get all the expected touches and menu, with new construction and a well designed setting with plenty of seating inside and out. I anticipate this will be very popular for people to hang out and do work in. Problem is the service here is pretty lacking, to the point of rude. I asked for no ice in my shaken green tea but still wanted it shaken with ice to make sure it was chilled in the cup. Okay, an annoying order I get it, but this is a Starbucks and hey maybe I don’t want to pay for ½ a cup of ice in my drink. I got the rudest eye roll touched with an exasperated sigh from the barista(whom I won’t call out here, though I did write her name down). She then proceeded to not do it, just pouring the drink into a cup. When I reminded her of my order, she paused, stared at me and repeated my instructions slowly as if disbelieving I had to audacity to ask for such a thing. Yes, I want my tea shaken with ice but no ice in my drink, is that too hard to believe? Shaken is in the freaking name. She finally made my drink(took probably an extra 30 seconds) and handed it off with a curt nod. The counters around the front of the store were dirty and riddled with puddles and sugar. The barista who took my order was okay. Overall I’m pretty disappointed with this location, it’s really gorgeous and spacious and it’s a shame bad service and negligent upkeep is getting in the way. They should seriously consider doing extra training to make sure you still the Starbucks experience without the entitled attitude. There are at least 8 Starbucks in a 2 mile radius of this place. I won’t come here again, but they will not lack for customers but most customers won’t lack for choices. The one next to Albertsons on Pomerardo/Rancho Bernardo Rd is the best of the bunch in this area. Super nice staff who are sweet with all their customers, who are conscious of making sure they deliver on the Starbucks promising of making a drink the way the customer wants it. The workers at the Starbucks next to Trader’s Joe on Carmel Mtn are also really nice.

An amazing upgrade to the prior store. I have fond memories working at store 52 on the other side of the plaza. The new place is huge with tons of seating. The covered outdoor patio has lots of tables and seats in the shade. On this beautiful Monday afternoon the place is far from empty, there are the ladies with their freshly groomed doggies, RB book club seems to have a corner staked out, as well as the hipster kids in the patio corner. My beverage was made promptly and correctly. Service was friendly and what we have all come to expect from Starbucks. The big thing that separates this Starbucks from others is its large seating capacity both indoors and outdoors. Happy times in RB!

This new Starbucks has turned into the best of Rancho Bernardo. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxing with calming music in the background. The wide variety of tables and seating also make it an excellent place to study or just chat. Although the grand opening is making the crowds larger than usual, there’s so much seating that it’s not too hectic. At most Starbucks, it can be hard to work because of the close proximity to coffee shop regulars and baristas, but a side wall gives some privacy if needed. The outside seating is also very large, and it would be a welcome change for when it gets warmer. Definitely a new favorite!
