Clean place but the portion sizes and the prices of each dish would deter me from eating here again. Needs to be a bit more reasonable. But the lamb was tasty

This place has gone down hill. Horrible service. In addition to getting the order wrong. I especially didn’t like the coercive way they were about getting a tip for a take out meal. The food preparer made a point of saying that there was no tip when giving me my food. I was concerned that they might have adulterated the food ion some way. I won’t be back.

I love the Kebob Shop, but for some reason the few times I’ve been to this location, they have messed up my order… Like wrong meat in my Doner o another time I asked for feta and there was so much feta in there that I couldn’t taste anything else… Another time I paid for extra meat, but it wasn’t in there… Mira Mesa and Mission Valley are almost always on point!

This place has a really enthusiastic and nice staff. And their döners are deliciously completed with mint and garlic yogurt sauce. I order that excessively. Never had a bad experience at this location, and the food is probably the best Americanized twist you can eat! Definitely always a 100% satisfaction with customer service and garlic cravings!

Had my car serviced so walked down the street to get lunch. Didn’t want your typical fast food joint and found The Kebab Shop. I ordered their döner kebab with lamb and beef and a side of fries. The kebab meat was tender and tasty, greens were fresh, and the yogurt sauce was fantastic. Oh and the fries were crispy and yummy. The place has plenty of seating and it was very clean. Overall a great first experience. I’ll be back with the fam!

The Kebab Shop is the Americanized version of Mediterranean food… gone right. It’s the California twist on the European joint. Kebab shops are prevalent in Europe as they are like burger joints in America. I couldn’t be happier they brought some of that tradition here. Think slow cooked meats, salads, saffron rice, Mediterranean inspired side dishes/salads. YUM! It’s difficult to find fast food places that deliver on quality. This place definitely does that. Service: Super friendly. Walked in and was greeted right away and was genuine. Props Food: Known for their Doner Kebabs which is a combination of mixed salad, choice of meat(or Falafel), all wrapped into a nice large thin flatbread. It’s really easy for the Doner Kebabs, just pick your choice of fill: 1. Rotisserie Chicken 2. Beef/Lamb 3. Mixed Meat(Chicken + lamb/beef) 4. Chicken kebab 5. Ground beef 6. Falafel 7. Fresh Salad 8. Grilled Veggies 9. Salmon Filet 10. Moroccan Shrimp The garlic sauce is included(you can ask for more) and is the holy grail to this wrap. YUMMY! TIP: Ask for spicy sauce if you want to spice it up. It has a nice kick of spice that is tomato based. Their plates are just as awesome. You can pick a plate: 1. Rotisserie plates 2. Shish Kebab Plates 3. Falafel Plates They all come with 1. 1 side + salad 2. 2 sides They also have lots of extras you can add such as more meat, fries(DOIT, try it inside the DONER!), and alternative sauces. Their Mediterranean inspired sides are freshly made and stare at you going«BUYMEE!» through the glass. Everything from caprese salad, cucumber dill salad, hummus, eggplant, tabouli, mac salad, orzo, greek salad. This location also serves, FRESH, COLDBEER… and different types of BAKLAVA!~ My only ‘gripe’ is that for«fast food» place it is on the pricey side… but it is totally worth it. The portions are very filling. Cheerios.

Pretty good option for a quick, semi-healthy meal. Call in your order for the quickest/best service. There are a lot of options to pick from and all of them are worthy.

This was my first time coming here. I was in the area, so I decided to try it out. The inside is decently spacious and the menu is easy to understand because there are pictures. I ordered the Shawarma sandwich with chicken kebab but they told me it would take an additional 12 minutes to cook. I was very hungry so I just got the Chicken rotisserie instead. I was disappointed because I was looking forward to eating the chicken kebab, thus I came here in the first place. My brother ordered the beef and was also told that it would also take 12 more minutes. The cooks should prepare all the meats beforehand; not just a few types. It seemed like they were too lazy to cook the kebab. So basically, the only meats that are already prepared are the lamb and chicken rotisserie. The sandwich is very large, so I was satisfied about that. Plus, they give you the spicy sauce and yogurt sauce, so it was a nice combination. I’m not certain that it is worth coming here again.

I don’t give out 5 stars very often, but I’m telling you this place rocks. We live a mile away which is convenient for us. I’ve tried just about everything on the menu and have never had a bad meal. The prices are fair as well. They have a decent size eating area or you can get it to go. The only thing I wish they would consider changing is the little ketchup packages. I wish they had ketchup in a bottle or plastic container like other places. I know its nit-picking but we hate those little ketchup packages. Oh, you also get a refill on your drink. Give them a try, you won’t be sorry.

I don’t come here often, but I’ve been here a couple times. It’s a really nice place to go to and the food here is delicious. I usually get the Doner Kebabs here, and I would say it’s my favorite item on the menu. It’s basically packed in a flatbread like a burrito, and it fills you up so much. They also include a couple sauces, one spicy and the other a garlic yogurt sauce, which I think go great with at the same time. They give you plenty of vegetables inside as well so it balances out the protein and you don’t feel like it’s too heavy. I decided to try something different today and got the lamb and beef rotisserie plate. It’s not bad, but I think I would still prefer the Doner Kebabs. Even though I chose a greek salad as one of the sides, I felt like you could taste the grease from the meat a lot more than from the doners, so it did end up feeling a little heavier for me. The meat was also kinda luke warm, because it’s been outside on the rotisserie for a while, but I wish that it would have been a little bit warmer. The fries were delicious, though. They are made fresh and they are nice and crispy. They also pack it on top of your plate so it’s almost falling over everything else on the plate, as they do with the meat as well. Jordan was great, it was the rest of my familys’ first time here, and they were overwhelmed with all the choices. He took the time to answer all the questions, along with letting us know what the coupon we had would be applicable for. He was quick to come back to the register when I came back to get the fountain drink, and he was patient with us. The food did take a little longer than expected to be ready, considering that we were the only ones in there when we came in, and the couple who came in 5 or 10 minutes after us got their food before we did, but I’m assuming that it’s because there were more of us, even though our food should’ve gotten a 5 – 10 minute head start. Overall, the food was delicious and the service was good, so I would come back here. Be sure to check in here on Unilocal! You get a free fountain drink when you do!

I am getting pretty annoyed with this place. Don’t get me wrong. The food here is good. Their staffs here are not trained at all. How hard is it to get our orders right every time??? It’s not hard and they seem to get it wrong. We always place our orders online. I swear, I don’t think they cook your orders until you show up. We would show up 30 mins later and would still have to wait additional 10 mins. We have gotten used to our orders being wrong every single time. We would double check our food when it’s ready and somehow they would still overlooked a side order of a chicken skewer. I love their food here. The manager really need to invest into their employees into getting them trained better. You can’t expect your employees to run when they can barely know how to crawl.

A very solid, consistently good spot for a quick lunch or dinner. They offer to go boxes for a micr moderate portion of food, or large plates if you’re hungry.

I have been fraquenting this place for a while now but always postponed the we view part. Great kobab place. I always end up taking the shrimp and salmon kobab. Shrimp kobab are the best I have had so far and have the right taste and right flavor. Salmon is always juicy and rightly done highly recommend. Pair it with the great variety of IPAs. Add the falafel and have it with the siracha and garlic sauce the meal becomes heavens. Chicken kobab are good to and the spices are just right. Add the side of the various salads and there you get a great combo. The meal is never complete without the baklava. YYUMMMMMYTHEBESTTASTINGBAKLAVA I like the pistachio and cinnamon but others are good to. I always end up taking one Togo for later and it is worth it.

Consistent and delicious! I have yet to be disappointed with this place. Delicious tzatziki garlic sauce and red Sriracha style sauce. Lamb/beef doners are my go-to, but everything else I’ve had was fresh and tasty.

Still just as delicious as the first time. Our order consisted of: Chicken kabob platter with lentil salad and fries Chicken doner box Side order of falafel Everything was really enjoyable. Just a note though… the chicken doner box is made with dark meat. Not really my thing BUT it was still very flavorful. The lentil salad was definitely fresh and there was a hint of mint in it. Delicious! Check in with Unilocal and get a free fountain drink.

I normally order a wrap when I come to the Kebab Shop, but this time around I ordered the plate entrée of lamb and beef gyros with a side of saffron rice, hummus with pita slices. With a Unilocal Checkin, I was able to get a ice tea. The plate was very good. The lamb and beef were very tasty with their seasoning and tender. I thought the meat was a little on the thin side for my taste, but they made up for it in quantity. The meat was a pleasure to eat on its own or with the pits bread with a smearing of either the hummus or creamy garlic sauce. The hummus was very good and had a mild garlic and olive oil flavor. It was thick and rich and no doubt filled with a great garbanzo bean flavor. The saffron rice was light and flavor with a mild flavor. It had a nice yellow color, but I would like to get a little, just a little, of that saffron flavor. In the end, the rice was well made. Service was good. The girl at the counter was I believe the shift manager and she was busily getting ready for the day. I think I was their first customer for the day. The place was well kept and the bathrooms clean for the start of the day. I do wish they offered tzatziki sauce.

This kebab shop is my favorite!!! AMBIENCE: like any other kebab shop. Clean and cut. Not too plane and not too cluttered. Simple. SERVICE: the staff is great! Extremely nice, helpful and patient. They use fivestar so scan your cards each visit and get thise stars. They also offer monthly(almost monthly) coupons that come in the RB monthly. They use the fivestar rewards card. FOOD: I always always always get the lamb doner box with rice and a side of fries!!! Mostly everything is delicious on the menu, but the lamb is my favorite even if it’s not all lamb. And their fries, so simple and crispy just delicious, especially topped with that dry green and red condiment they offer on the side that I put all over my fries. And of course, you have to ask for a side of the special chili sauce!

Oh Kebab Shop, this is going to be a long happy marriage. In fact, I’m a little scared I may grow to like you a little ‘too much’, get needy and drive you away by stalking your Beef/Lamb wrap late every night. So far it’s the only item I’ve tried as its the All-Star QB of the menu… but it’s sheer genius is worth noting: The perfect blend of burrito, savory gyro meat, tsaziki, and greek salad in one foiled wrapped beast. Why haven’t more places done this? Like a great sculpture hiding in a block of marble, It was there all along, waiting to be discovered! The fries golden deee-licious viscious… could choke-slam McDonalds on tastiness/crispiness and I’ll be damned, they don’t even give you the grease-bomb food-coma blues. Probably the only thing holding this franchise back is the name. Most people, when they think of kebabs envision skewered meat and vegetables. Nothing could be further from the truth. Something great is happening here. Bah-dap-bahp-bahp-BAAAH. I’m lovin’ it.

I’m a fan of «The Kebab shop» fast food chain here in San Diego. I’ve had their sandwiches a bunch of times but I’ve never tried their Iskender kebab until now I’ve had Iskender kebab before, from a family owned Turkish restaurant in Encinitas called«Bird House Grill»(search it on Unilocal, you’ll find my review). I wanted to try the Iskender kebab from this Turkish fast food chain and see how it compares to the one I had from that family owned restaurant The verdict? Same price and same delicious flavor but one huge difference. The portion size here is not that generous. The one I had in Encinitas, it was HUGE. There was A LOT of meat, tomato sauce, and especially LOTS of yogurt. So yes, I prefer the Iskender kebab from the family owned Turkish restaurant in Encinitas to this one. Still, I give props to this restaurant for having an authentic tasting Iskender kebab and that extra grilled pepper was awesome(the one in Encinitas didn’t have that) Tip: If you have a smartphone with an app called« Unilocal,» and if you«check in,» you’ll get a free fountain soda!
