It’s always been clean the times I have stopped by here and I have had no problems here. This takes care of my swirly and fries fix. The road leading to this place off Midway sucks. Be weary of rough patches of uneven road before pulling into the driveway. Midway Drive in general is a road the city needs to fix.

On my particular visit the service was lifeless, food mediocre compared to other Wendy’s, there were tweakers trying to use the bathroom(which you have to pay for), and a lady who was chilling at a table like she’s was at Barnes and Noble. She had here legs propped up at a booth reading a book, stuff all over the table, and her phone charging next to the counter. Another man ordered something and spilled his drink at the counter, he then informed the restaurant that some had spilled on someone’s phone, her phone. This pissed off the trashy lady and she then proceeded to mouth off at the man for spilling his drink. This went on for a while until she’s stormed out. All this in front of kids and families. Classy.

My Mom(90) Son(26) and myself(57), all went in to this Wendy’s all ordered a variety of menu items, salad, chili, Jr. sized and ¾ pound burgers frosties ect. All the food was super tasty. As we we all commented on how well it was tasting, and how it had been a long time since any of us had been to a Wendy’s. The woman who took our order came to our table to ask how our meal was, offered to clear some of trays and wrappers. Then offered to refill the pop my son had ordered. She was very personable, helpful and sincere. I believe her name was Maria. We were all so pleasantly surprised at this nice touch. We will all be back. And we all felt badly that we hadn’t left a tip. Service and customer concern like she gave us is so rare even at high dollar restaurants. Very impressive.

Came here today for lunch with my best friend Dena after deciding not to have Filipino food. She had a coupon for 2 chicken burgers and fries for $ 7.99. We walked in and placed our order. Received it super fast. Then as Dena went to put our tray down I grabbed her water and my drink, then went to grab a straw. Maria came and as I stood there she asked if we wanted ketchup and put use each a small cup. As we sat and ate she came by and made sure we liked our food and offered to get a straw for water but didn’t need it. When we finished we sat and talked for a bit and Maria came by and took our tray to threw away our trash. Very thoughtful and helpful! Great customer service from Maria!

Just stopped in for lunch and was so blown away by the friendly service of Antonio and Walter I felt compelled to leave a Unilocal. It’s people like those two guys that keep me coming back to the same businesses. If I could find guys like them to work for me, my business would better off for it. Oh yea. My lunch was good too.

I didn’t think I would ever review a fast food joint, but this Wendy’s is so fantastic I have to. Huge props to a brunette male in his 20’s who was working the register when I came in. He had the best customer service, welcoming my boyfriend and I the second we walked through the door, mentioning he would take our order whenever we were ready, and continuously had a genuine smile on his face. He took our order and wished us a wonderful day and continued to help the other guests. Our order was the best we have ever had at any Wendy’s. Usually the food looks nothing like the pictures posted on display but my boyfriend’s hamburgers were perfectly hot, and looked just like promotional images. I ordered a salad with a baked potato, and I kid you not, somehow they were able to make the salad and baked potato even better. I had generous toppings on my potato, and it was HUGE. I listened in to the male cash register as he was taking orders, and he made my day. I have never been more impressed by a cashier before, and he just made everyone he talked with leave in a better mood. The location is spotless with great customer service and even better product. If there was a Wendy’s of the month, this location deserves it.

I’ll tell you one thing: If getting your drive thru order ready was an Olympic sport, this place would get a gold medal. Unlike the McDonald’s across the street(the 24hr one that takes ridiculously long to get ANY drive thru order ready, and has NOPROFILE on here) this place usually have my stuff ready while I’m still reaching for my wallet… that’s how they roll. Bravo.

I have a very busy temp job in Point Loma, and don’t always have the time to get something to eat, so I’ve been eating a lot of fast food these days. The value menu at Wendy’s is great — for $ 3.00, I got a double stack, fries and a soda. Plus, on the back of the receipt was a offer to take a survey and get $ 2.00 off of a burger or salad on my next order. I took advantage of that, and will use it next week.

I’m going to just copy a segment from my original blog post( ). —– Around noonish I got to thinking of my upcoming meeting this afternoon, how there will be food involved, but how that’s still a good three hours away. Why not head over to Wendy’s for a quick bite and some light reading, right? The first thing I notice is the guy at the register. He’s actually kind of cheerful, but in a genuine way. Let me go ahead and say that I too work directly with the public(customer service), so that sort of thing is kind of embedded into my radar. The interesting things is that while he’s going through the standard procedure, he’s actually interacting on a real level with customers. He’s smiling, for chrissakes! He asked me how it was going, nice day huh, that sort of thing — but didn’t make it awkward or robotic. And you know that awkward pause that I mean, where somebody automatically asks the question but doesn’t expect an answer. Then I notice the guy serving my food to me is doing the same thing, nice guy, good interaction, good service time. Well, that’s cool. The dining room is packed, but there are some corner window seats(score!). I’m enjoying my food, when I notice that the counter guy is walking around, doing an Actual Restaurant procedure. He’s doing a brief stop at people’s tables to check on them, he’s not pressuring, he’s asking if we want refills. He’s asking how we are. He actually… cared about his job! Wait a second. You… can get a refill at Wendy’s? Someone will get that for you? Okay, look. I don’t spend a lot of time these days inside a Wendy’s(despite the ideas this post might give), but of all the times I’ve been inside one, nobody has ever asked me how things are or if they can get me anything. That was AWESOME. You know why it’s awesome? Because it cuts out the awkwardness. Let’s say you get your order, you sit down, but oh crap you’ve forgotten to ask for your special item that makes things tastier. Sauce, whatever. You now have to cut the eight people in the lunch rush line to ask really nicely, blushing, if you can please have your whatever. It’s fine(because it’s a restaurant), but it’s awkward. You know what I mean! And refills? No. No, you just forget about that. You don’t really need a second 60 ounces of soda, honestly, but I know you’ve got a long drive ahead of you and maybe you just want some more soda, okay? You have to go up there. You have to ask. It’s a little embarrassing; it always is. But this time… it wasn’t. I’m not saying that all policies should be to check on everyone and get them whatever they need, because that would kill the service time, but it was a really nice touch. Maybe in between when they’ve got an extra minute or so, or when they’re out cleaning the dining room, say hi. See how it’s going. This guy went the extra step and did kind of what waiters did when you go to a nice restaurant but without making it seem like it was something he was forced to do. Kudos to whoever motivated him, that’s for sure. So… in conclusion, thank you, Short Dark-Haired Front Counter Guy Whose Name I Didn’t Get, Working Around 12:30PM at the Midway Store(3760 Midway Drive, 92110). Thank you for reminding me that just because we’re used to fast food being a bad experience doesn’t mean that’s the way it’s supposed to be. I don’t know what you’re trying to do, Wendy’s, but I like it. I’ll be keeping my eye on you.

After the bad day I had in the office today, I decided to leave work early and not think about work until Monday. I crammed in a bunch of errands as I made my way home, but my stomach was running on empty and had to eat something fast. A few of my errands were in the Point Loma area and by the time 1:00 rolled around, it was time to feast. There I was at a stop light, still feeling like crap from work when low and behold, there was Wendy’s to my left just calling out my name(at least it was in my head). I don’t eat at Wendy’s that often, maybe three times a year? I decided to go in and eat versus get my food via drive-thru… To me, the food at Wendy’s overall is a little above average compared to other fast food joints like BK or McD’s. I usually order the spicy chicken sandwich whenever I go, I tend to stick with what I like. Why write about Wendy’s of all places? Because of the laughter I caught myself doing from the entertaining cashier and other employees that work there. I don’t know what this cashier’s name was but man, I’ve never seen a more enthusiastic guy that seemed to love his job more than him. In the twenty minutes I was there, I sat facing the cashier and was entertained by how this guy treated the mic like he was on the ones and twos like he was DJ ficky-fick or something… lol! If you order a spicy chicken sandwich, he’d say«EXCELLENTCHOICE!!!» then go to the mic and say«spice-ehh chick-ennnn sannnnndwhiiiiiiich!!!» or «chill-ehhhhh with onn-niiions and ch-ch-ch-eeeeeesssse!!!» I dunno, I guess you had to be there to see what I was giggling about. I’m glad I came in here for lunch today because for a while, I forgot about the crummy morning I had thanks to their very friendly and entertaining crew. Thank you for putting a smile on my face, I certainly saw that with other diners sharing the same entertainment I enjoyed today. =)

Well, I went here again today despite my fears and the food was OK. Again, I ate a few jbc’s. I did not get sick and the burgers were great for fast food. Again, quick and friendly service. 3 stars for fast food.

I like Wendy’s in general because I like having options, but why doesn’t this Wendy’s have stuffed baked potatoes like the Wendy’s by my house? I guess that’s what they mean when they say«Prices and Participation may vary» in the commercial. This Wendy’s is not participating in baked potato sales. They also don’t seem to be participating in cleaning all that much so just use the drive-thru and try not to think about it.

I’m not going to try to convince you there is anything special about the food at this Wendy’s. You either like Wendy’s food or you don’t. But what makes this location special is its SERVICE. They are the fastest drive-through I have found ANYWHERE! I haven’t even ever been inside the restaurant because there is no point, I can get through the drive-through in three minutes flat, no joke. You place your order and by the time you coast up to the window they already have your drink on the ledge waiting for you and the bag of food follows as soon as you finish putting your drink in the cupholder. And get this, they aren’t only fast but they almost always get your order right. In fact, they have never gotten my order wrong and only once nearly forgot to give me a salad that I had ordered but realized their mistake before I could drive away. If you are short on time and want to get your food NOW with no fuss, point your car here, you won’t be disappointed.
