Outstanding sushi and a great atmosphere. Not as much rock and roll as I would have liked, but a lot of fun.

I have been lurking on Unilocal since the beginning of Unilocal-time without leaving a review, but the time has finally come. This review is for the sushi bar in the back, specifically with Will. While a sushi snob might be reluctant to enjoy the experience at Ace, you would be judging a book by its cover. I frequently sit down in front of Will and ask for an omakase style nigiri/sashimi meal. Will does not disappoint in fish selection, variety, style, and skill. That’s not to say that he doesn’t do a great job with your standard-fare American-style rolls(I’m looking at you California/spicy tuna roll orderer, but you do you), but if you’re looking for a higher-end omakase experience in an affordable and informal environment, the sushi bar at Ace(and Will!) is a fantastic go-to option. Just sit down and ask him to do his thing. Try to go before the sake-bombing crowd piles in toward the later side(especially toward the end of the week) and the noise level will be acceptable.

My bestie was in from SoCal and we decided to find a place to eat in my hood. We decided on sushi and this place was amazing!!! We sat at the sushi bar and Will was THEBEST. He helped us with our order and made our experience incredible. The fish was super fresh. We had 20 pc sashimi and rolls made by Will. We will definitely be back.

There are a lot of sushi places to choose in San Francisco, but Ace Wasabi is by far my favorite. The atmosphere has a more modern and cool feel and the food never disappoints. I recommend the Rocket Man, it’s my favorite roll on the menu and a classic. I typically take friends and family when they come to visit!

Great Happy Hour, kid friendly, attentive service. I am here with my kid a lot; the food and service are consistently good. Bingo is a fun touch, the tv is on local sports, and the soundtrack is fun rock/pop.

We ate at the sushi bar last night and the kitchen staff was amazing!!! The sushi was the freshest, along with the most creative and tasty that I have had in quite some time. I highly recommend Ace Wasabi if you are visiting San Francisco, you will not be disappointed! They do have a regular bar and seating, but if I were you, I would dine at the sushi bar.

A must go… sit at the sushi bar and Mike and Will are sure to be two of the most inviting and affable sushi chef’s you will encounter. Great food, great drink and great conversation. Sit down and let them drive the meal. They will get you not only eating, but loving everything they put in front of you. It is a fun atmosphere and our go to spot on a regular basis. I would give it 4.5 if Unilocal would let me.

I love this place. I usually sit at the sushi bar because the sushi chefs are so friendly! Will was one of the first sushi chefs I met. He was awesome and let me try one of the ahi tuna tostadas(there’s 3 in one order and I didn’t want the full appetizer). Everything I had there was delicious and the fish was very fresh. I love the Sake Kirota and order it almost every time. I’ve definitely become a regular!

We have been coming here for years. Ace Wasabi is a very fun hip happening spot and has the most fantastic and fresh sushi in the Marina District-S.F. TORO, TORO, TORO yummy

Had the sushi bar experience you’ve always wanted. The chef’s were helpful and knew all about which fish to choose. First time trying uni too and definitely a good spot for it. Came early before right before happy hour and had no problem getting in.

Came for a casual dinner with a friend. Food and experience was AMAZING. Sat at the sushi bar — chefs Yobin and Will were very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend the toro and any specials they suggest. Delicious green tea cheesecake!

Ace wasabi has ace in the name for a reason, I’m sure other reviewers say the same. 8 piece sashimi: ace 2 piece unagi(nigiri): ace++ So ordered unagi twice I may be a bit enthusiastic because I never get to eat here. My girlfriends a vegetarian, which basically makes me a vegetarian, but I do love a juicy…

Smoke bomb and rocket man omg they have a sushi roll named after 2pac. Best sushi ever. Small rolls but the environment makes it 100% the best I ever had :) P. s. The bartender rocks so much she helped me decide on what to get and I swear this is the best sushi place in the land of the u.s.a!!!

Rockin’ sushi rolls! Inventive sushi inspired after famous rock ‘n’ rollers. The sushi chefs are incredibly talented, fast, and very attentive even when the restaurant is packed. I came on date night. We ordered ‘Scorpions’ and ‘Three Amigos.’ Absolutely delicious! Definitely try Scorpions; this roll is unique to Ace Wasabi. Gourmet at a reasonable price. Since the restaurant was busy, I had to remind the waitress about our drinks. Hence the 4 out of 5 stars. However, our attentive sushi chef gave us free nigiri as we waited. Totally awesome! I’m hoping to visit again and update the rating to 5 stars, anticipating better service on a normal night. This is definitely THE place to check out if you’re visiting the Marina! FYI: SCORPIONS — tempura rock shrimp, sea scallop, caramelized pecans topped w/mango, avocado. THREEAMIGOS — tuna, yellowtail, eel, cucumber, avocado, wasabi tobiko w/soy aioli.

It’s been a really long time since I’ve had Sushi. An oddly long time. I moved up to East Bay from Santa Barbara where the sushi is amazing. Im so happy this was my first adventure back in the saddle in many long sushi-less months. I love the atmosphere at Ace. It’s got a local neighborhood vibe that is refreshing given how many touristy restaurants there are in SF. Their music? On point. Our service was great. The food is reasonably priced. This is the kind of place you can go to with a group of friends or on a date and you’ll be guaranteed to have a good time, unless you don’t like sushi or are boring… We ordered the edamame and short ribs to start. The edamame were perfectly steamed and not overly salty. The short ribs were mouthwatering good; tender with a lot of flavor. We ordered the 12– piece mixed sashimi, the Ozzy and the Victoria’s Secret Rolls. The sashimi was great and sliced in perfect portions. The rolls were both made into perfect bite sized pieces that packed just enough heat and plenty of flavor. My sushi senses have been re-awakened and I’m going to need a few more trips to Ace, you know, just to be sure. Rumor has it that there are some amazing Happy Hour offerings coming down the pipeline so stay tuned!
