Cute little wine bar in Nob Hill! They have a good menu with small plates and their wine menu is not overpriced like other wine bars in this area. Perfect spot for happy hour or while you wait for a table at a nearby restaurant.

Café Meuse is one of our favorite wine bars in the city. There is usually never a long wait for a table, and there’s also great price to value, which is not something that I think people usually say about a wine bar. We started with their cheese plate and a glass of wine, and quickly decided to stay and order a full dinner. Other highlights were the charcuterie board and Mac and cheese. Also, hat tip to the staff and waiters. Service was great and super friendly.

I’ve been here so many times that I’m long overdue to write this review! This is my absolute favorite neighborhood wine bar. The setting is intimate, lively, and inviting — the perfect place to meet friends for a very reasonably priced flight and plate of burrata. They like to pour full glasses of wine for the flights, so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth! Meuse is constantly switching up wines on their menu, which can be good and bad(if you’re hooked on a wine!). My favorite wine on the menu is the Runquist Propriety Blend — a big, earthy red. The location is amazing! Nothing better than getting a glass of wine on Hyde before heading out dinner.

Food: So delicious! A great selection of small plates(the burrata, truffle mac and cheese, and cheese plate are all awesome… can you tell I like cheese?) and desserts. As a warning, the ahi tuna tartare is really spicy. The last time I visited, they did last call for food ~9:45 pm. Wine: Reasonably priced & good selection(all I will comment on as I don’t consider myself a wine connoisseur by any means, haha). Atmosphere: I think that this is what makes this café so special. It’s always pretty busy, but feels quaint/comfortable inside and you can watch the cable cars going by on Hyde. They have some outdoor tables as well for warmer nights. It’s a great atmosphere to meet up with a couple of friends or a date. Service: Great! No complaints. Really helpful and kind servers whenever I’ve gone. Happy Hour every day from 5−7PM& on Mondays, every bottle of wine is 20% off.

I came here for wine and apps with a few girlfriends last weekend. While the place is on the smaller side, it is really cozy and has a great ambiance. They have a nice wine selection and all of the apps we got were delicious. I really liked the mac and cheese. I can’t wait to come back! It was pretty busy on the Friday night we went, but I think it would be a great date spot on a week night!

Love this place. Good service, great selection of wines and reasonably priced small plates of food. Their mac & cheese with white truffles is to die for. The atmosphere is cozy, I can always find a free table and as the music is not too loud, so it’s easy to chat. They also have a few tables outside. A great neighborhood place!

Café Meuse is the perfect spot to grab a glass of wine and share some appetizers with your friends, or your date. Cozy, but not stuffy, great music and décor. Reasonable prices, we did the wine flights which are a great value. The food is delicious! We had the charcuterie plate, burrata bruschetta and the white truffle Mac and cheese(amazing). Can’t wait to go back!

Surprisingly delightful! We stopped off because it was on our way home and had a few drinks and dessert. The crème brûlée was yummy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I was a huge fan of the ambiance. We’ll definitely be coming back again! Especially with these happy hour deals!

My girlfriend and I strolled in here this past Wednesday for the first time to grab a drink while we waited for a table at elephant. We were greeted by our server who told us to make ourselves comfortable at a high top by the window. From the time we sat down to the time we left, we had a wicked good time. Very intimate, great wine and food, and service goes above and beyond. Alex was very knowledgeable about the wine and took the time to teach us a little bit as well(my girlfriend loves learning about wine). She made great recommendations for what we were looking for. We would let her pick out a different wine each time we ordered and it was hella on point each time. The other bartender(I think Steve was his name) was hilarious and made us feel like we were regulars. We were having such a great time that we cancelled our reservations at elephant and spent the rest of our night here. The charcuterie plate was delicious. A great portion of meat and cheese for a good price. The meatballs are on point and hit the spot. I recommend this place to anyone looking for an intimate place for small plates and great wine. The neighborhood is great as well. We decided to bring our friends in tonight and our experience was just as nice as the first. Can’t wait to come back!

Just a quick review to mention this is a great coffee shop, if not a bit pretentious.(The clientele, not the staff.) Seems to be bustling most of the time, but there’s turnover, so if you can hang in there a bit you’ll get a seat.

Went in a group of four at 10pm on Saturday just to catch the kitchen before it closed… Such a nice place super cozy beautiful atmosphere the charcuterie was awesome as were the meatballs and you can’t go wrong with getting a flight of wine for less than $ 20. I will definitely be coming back here

My wife and I moved in nearby and discovered that our neighbor is the owner! We went here on a date. The place is really cozy, classy but not pretentious. Prices are reasonable and don’t miss the happy hour, 5 – 7. Great selection of wine. Definitely great spot for 20’s and 30 somethings…

We stopped in last night for a few glasses of wine and dessert before going to the symphony. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming. It had an intimate feeling but you weren’t on top of people next to you, even at the bar which is where we were sitting. I enjoyed a rosé brut wine, it was a sweeter wine and would highly recommend it. My husband ordered a dark red Cabernet and really enjoyed it. We also ordered the chocolate brownie with a scoop of ice cream on it. Wow! Totally hit the spot after a lackluster dinner we had at another restaurant. The mix of chocolate with both of our wines was just what we needed! The staff was friendly and suggested a few different wines since they didn’t have what I usually like to drink. They let me taste two different wines and gave a healthy pour to both. They liked to chit chat with us also which was pleasant. I would definitely come back and check this place out again. I could have spend many hours here enjoying different wines!

On a low key Tuesday night, Café Meuse was the perfect spot to enjoy my dinner in Nob Hill. It has a cozy interior, complete with high tables and a bar, plus a few small tables outside. A great date spot by the looks of it. As for food, I ordered the Hyde St. Chicken Satay. It was a delicious plate, paired well with a glass of pinot gris. With tip the entire meal for one came in around $ 25. Will definitely return again.

Always has Lagunitas on tap and between 5 – 7 they have a great $ 4 draft beer happy hour. I’ve only eaten there twice but it was good both times. Lauren serves us every time we go there and she’s always awesome.

Went here the other night. It was a lovely evening that called for a glass of wine while sitting outside at a sidewalk café. This is the perfect place in this neighborhood for exactly that! I got the cab sauv, which was solid, and the charcuterie, which was good. Surprisingly, the chicken satay was excellent and the brownie a la mode was deeply satisfying!

This is a great wine bar with a good selection of international wines with friendly bartenders. There is seating both at the bar and at probably about 10 tables. We’ve never had an issue finding a seat. They also have a decent selection of appetizers if you’re looking for something to munch on with your wine. Their special on Monday is 25% of any bottle of wine which is a great if you’re grabbing drinks with a few friends!

I don’t care much for spiked grape juice these days, but Café Meuse is such a cute neighborhood spot, it’s hard to resist going in and staying for a few. I like that it has a casual vibe, has a good selection of wines that’s not too overpriced and is more quieter than Amelie on Polk st. Even though this wine bar doesn’t have the sexy French guys pouring your drink, you can still count on the attractive locals that call it their second home. Happy hour is from 5pm — 7pm which means $ 2 off per glass! that’s a big deal, since you can take your $ 2, walk over to Trader Joe’s nearby and get your two buck chuck!(kidding!) I love my bubbly so I had their cremant brut rose and my gf decided to try their Kir Royale. Effervescent, light, happy. Three words you need on a Monday night. We were enjoying ourselves too much and each had a glass of Grüner Veltliner before heading home. When we got our bill, we were charged for a whole bottle. The staff was very apologetic, but make sure to double check your bill. I love walking around this neighborhood and will most definitely be back for happy hour again. Cheers.

Cute place. Stopped in for drinks with some coworkers and ended up staying for about 7 hours! They have some things to munch on which were all delicious and a ton of wine selections. Good service, great atmosphere and a great place to sit and enjoy wine with friends.

I wish my neighborhood had an equivalent of Café Meuse. When I used to live in Russian Hill, this was a wonderful place to come in, wind down, and enjoy some delicious food and amazing wines. These days, being in Russian Hill isn’t as frequent, but that doesn’t mean that Café Meuse has changed. A few girlfriends and I stopped in here for some libations to celebrate the end of the week and what started off as «just one drink» turned into eating almost every small plate on their delicious menu and a few more glasses of wine. It got a little busy after 6pm, but definitely was still able to get in our food and drink orders without too much of wait or issue. I love Café Meuse(especially their happy hour deals and charcuterie plate), and I definitely think this is a «quieter» and more intimate option than Amelie on Polk. I’ll definitely be back!

Can I give you more than 5 stars? — Perfect San Francisco-local atmosphere(edge of Hyde & Pacific, by the passing cable car) — Great wine selection, well-priced but with an even better happy hour! — Burrata Bruschetta is to die for — Great service

Super cute neighborhood wine bar! It’s my go to wine bar as it is walking distance from my apartment. The restaurant is relatively small but somehow I am always able to get a table right away. There are also a few tables outside which is nice when it’s sunny out. They’ve got a wide variety of wines and the staff is very helpful with helping you select you wine(s). The food menu is pretty limited but they offer a few good bites to accompany your wine. Their happy hour runs until 7pm too which is a bonus. It’s a great spot to hand out and drink good wine, my one suggestion is go for apps not a full blown dinner.

It’s a quaint little wine bar along Hyde Street. The few tables outside become super prime property on sunny evenings as you soak in the last bits of sun, relax and sip on some wine/beer, and listen to the«ding ding» of the cable car as it goes by. They have a pretty decent selection of wines here from around the world so you’ll find something you fancy. While they only have a few beers on tap, I liked that their selection of bottles is pretty good from Californian craft brews to Belgian ales. Happy hour from 5 – 7 is a nice time to visit; bonus if you score an outside table in the sun. Service is cordial but since it’s just one server and another behind the bar, it can be a little slow. Still, Café Meuse is a nice spot for an evening drink and I hope to remember that it’s there more often. Looking forward to coming back to try some of the food too.
