It is famous, trendy and gourmet, expensive too. It’s hard to judge crepes so I wouldn’t even try. Here’s the simple description: nice consistent thin waffer like fresh made crepes. Then there’s the spicy chipotle sauce within. And large freshly cut chunks of avocado. A raw sense of gourmet.

We had them cater at the office and OMG delicious. The staff was very professional and helpful! They were quick and the food was so filling. I had a savory one first then went back for sweet! Yummy

I’ve had their sweet crepes, which were delicious. They give generous portion for the filling, the crêpe was fluffy and delicious. I only wish they gave a box rather than paper napkin for ease of eating without having to worry about spillage.

I love ‘em. I love creeps. I mean crepes. There’s only one person working so if you’re in a hurry to go to the bathroom you’d better do your business first especially if there are even only two people ahead of you. I’ve had both savory and sweet crepes. I seriously could eat these all day, makes me want to own one of these crêpe makers at home. Hmmm … I would highly recommend you eat at the cafeteria area versus taking it to go, time. Don’t get me wrong, the taste is equally delicious both ways. However, because they’re wrapped while still hot in paper and then foil, everything concentrates to the bottom of that one triangle folded in the bottom of the wrapping, and it all melts together, frequently sticking to the paper. I’ve regretfully had to throw away buttery or cheesy goodness because I just can’t pull it apart, or it’s way too messy by the time I’ve been semi-successful. And that just made me sad. So don’t be sad, make time to enjoy it, freshly made, in the area.

This location does not(currently) have a full coffee menu, but their other location does. Awesome customer service.

This place was everything except amazing. I got a Nutella/Strawberry/Whipped Cream Crêpe and let me tell you, as a devoted Nutella fanatic… THATWASNOTNUTELLA. It was some average chocolate sauce that they squirt from a squirt bottle. Nutella is way too thick to be squirted like that and this tasted nothing like it anyways. LIES! It was $ 7 and extremely hard to cut and eat. They also just gave it to me on a paper plate when I said I wanted it to go(I work nearby so I was taking it to the office), which I found to be a little annoying, but whatever. Don’t waste your time or money.

Nestled inside the Metreon, Creperie Saint Germain was the closest crêpe place to Yerba Buena Gardens, where my friend and I were sitting when we got a dessert craving. We headed inside the Metreon and ordered a Nutella crêpe with strawberries and bananas. When we asked if he could cut it in half, he said no. We shrugged and sat down with the crêpe. When trying to cut it, we realized why he said no to cutting it. The crêpe was incredibly tough and hard to cut. When I did finish sawing it in half, there was Nutella all over the plate. Hmm. The crêpe itself was alright, with just enough Nutella(although there can never be enough Nutella) and just enough fruit. Really, this crêpe just hit the spot, but didn’t go above and beyond. I don’t know if I would go out of my way to come back, but if I’m in the area, I’ll consider stopping in.

My salted-caramel crêpe was tasty but tough enough that the flimsy plastic fork bent in half as the flimsy plastic knife ineffectually tried to cut the crêpe. The individually-made, pour-over coffee was also tasty, except for the mouthful of coffee grounds I got in the last sip. Going on my «Acceptable, but not worth Seeking Out» list.

Such a saint. Never know the response when asking for egg whites. Either yes, yes with extra charges or no don’t even think about it. Perhaps because I asked nicely. Or there was no one else in line. Or the lady helping me shares my preference. Whatever it was egg whites happen here at no charge. Combined with tomato and spinach it made for a very enjoyable and satisfying crêpe breakfast. Thanks for being a saint.

My boyfriend and I were craving a crêpe(really craving one reminiscent of the ones you can get from a creperie in Paris), so we came here to share one after seeing a movie at the nearby AMC theater. Lots of options, service is fast — we ordered a savory crêpe with mushrooms, chicken and cheese. It was pretty good but nothing spectacular. However I’m glad I can get a pretty decent crêpe in SF!

The food was pretty good– filling, tasty, and fresh. The service was friendly, but we came in a group of 5 on a pretty quiet day. It took about 20 minutes to get food… I can only imagine how long the wait would have been on an average(or god forbid, if there’s a conference at the Moscone center, busy) day.

Been going to the location on 2nd and Howard for years and before that when it was next to Temple. So I finally decided to check out this location and gotta say the crêpe here was just as good as the other locations. I ordered on the healthy side by choosing the Parmesan cheese, Sundried Tomato, Caramelized Onion, Pine Nut, Spinach crêpe. It was delicious just like the cute girl who served it, Mandy. Yum!!!

I came here for lunch because every other place had long lines and this one had only a few people. I soon realized that those few people equated about a half hour to get a crêpe. I was disappointed by the crêpe and just found it to be a whole lot of cheese. True the cheese was tasty but wasn’t what I had wanted — chicken, spinach, sauteed mushrooms. I probably won’t be returning.

As one of only a handful of creperies that were opened after 8 pm on a Saturday night in SF, Creperie Saint Germaine is not a poor choice for a quick bite to eat. If you are craving some sweet strawberries with Nutella or sausage and cheese wrapped in a soft, thin wrap of flour, egg, and milk, then this is your place to go in Union Square/Yerba Buena Garden. The bacon chocolate crêpe sounded interesting and was… meh *shrug*…interesting. The dark chocolate semisweet baking chips tasted like bitter, medicinal chocolate liqueur paste. It left an unpleasant aftertaste and dry feeling in my mouth. The bits of bacon were very distinguishable, but added nothing notable to the crêpe. My boyfriend and I were disappointed with the crêpe(and the $ 6.50 we could have spent on something tastier), but we’re glad we tried it to satisfy our curiosity. I think we’ll stick to strawberries and bananas with Nutella next time…

Comment re 11−10−12: The banana honey and almond crêpe was decent and is a great option for pre movie snack. Service, however, was less than desirable. Cashier declined to provide water because they ran out of pastic water cups and unwilling to use paper cups in sight. Seriously? Typically, I rarely write reviews but was disappointed.

They have good crepes, but they are softer than the Asian style crepes, so it’s a bit messier. They have a yummy lemon sugar crêpe!

I expected better from the Frenchy-named Creperie St Germain. I’ve had their crepes at events before and always thought they were spot-on: buckwheat batter, fresh gourmet fillings, and that cute paper cone they serve your freshly-griddled crêpe in. But this location seems to be under-staffed, with just one person working the lunch rush. That means, one person to take orders AND make the crepes. Inevitably, something is going to be compromised in this situation. My turkey crêpe took the blow. The crêpe dough was undercooked. I asked for goat cheese instead of swiss, and somehow I got cheddar. The cone contraption is cute, but really difficult to eat out of unless you’re ready to just shove your head in there. Maybe they offer plates upon request? I know these crepes can be better than they were. I’ll go back because I love their concept, their menu and their pretty blue tiles along the wall. But hopefully they’ll put another garçon on duty to help keep quality up and service smooth.

TIP: Perfect for a snack when you’ve been running around City Target or after a movie. Quick, easy, and tasty. Yummy gourmet crepes! The buckwheat crepes are made fresh to order and you can watch them make it for you. It’s difficult to choose one because all the combinations sound so good– Ratatouille(eggplant, bell peppers, onion), green onion, Swiss cheese, and spinach… Pork sausage, Emmental cheese, caramelized onion, and sautéed mushroom… Chocolat and bacon… Salted caramel… The menu speaks for itself. My sister and I shared a crêpe with smoked turkey, cheddar, caramelized onion, crème fraîche, and sautéed mushroom. The cheese could have been more melty, but overall it was very delicious. All the right textures and flavors together in one! You can build your own crêpe. Expect to spend $ 5-$ 10 on one crêpe. But also expect your taste buds to be happy!

So I got the #12 savory crêpe here. This one is: Braised beef, jalapeño, avocado, Swiss cheese, tomato, and green onion. This crêpe was pretty tasty overall, I’d probably give it a 3.5, but the desert crepes looked really fresh and delicious so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt that when I go back and try one of those they will be 4 worthy(I’ll come give them a 3 if I end up disappointed). The beef in the #12 looked a little like ground beef but there were some meaty chunks in there and it tasted pretty good. The avocado was fresh and tasty. Some savory creeps are too heavy but this one was just right. Overall this thing had a TON of meat, so be ready for that. If I had to guess I would say it was about 80% beef by weight. Also don’t forget to grab a plate! They gave it to me in a paper cone thing that was pretty neat, but even if you’re getting it to go, it is probably going to get too messy by the end to eat without a plate. As you can probably see from the pictures, this place is just a counter essentially inside the Metreon, so it doesn’t have any seating of its own. There is however plenty of seating around the corner in the Metreon food court as well as free wireless.

The scent of freshly made crepes at the entrance of the Metreon lured me to CSG. CSG specializes in French organic buckwheat crepes with savory and sweet fillings. The fillings are better than your typical crêpe place and include homemade jams, Crème Chantilly, crème fraiche, Humphry Slocombe ice cream, salted caramel sauce, Nutella, brownies, goat cheese, etc. They have two dozen types of crepes that you can customize with add-ins. Savory crepes start at $ 7 and sweet crepes start at $ 5. They also have drinks and Illy Coffee. * #13: Swiss cheese(they ran out of reblochon cheese), cubes of ham, caramelized onions, small cubes of roasted seasoned potatoes wrapped in a thin freshly made buckwheat crêpe. I really liked the buckwheat flavor(nutty, a bit sweet) and the crêpe had a soft, spongy texture with slightly crisp edges. It was fully loaded with cheese, ham, onions and potatoes, a yummy and filling combination of ingredients. The crêpe is a bit challenging to eat in the paper cone but it can be done.
