I miss this place. My old go to spot after the opera. And they had a killer bathroom.

It’s the first Sunday, in the Summer of 2010. I was thinking of what me and my cohorts could do tonight, on a Sunday night. Then I recalled the good times we had on many a Sunday night, at Jade Bar. Jade Bar was always the go-to place for Sunday. Sunday Happy Hour, and a round of Jade Cocktails for Everybody! But… those times are gone. Wish Jade Bar was still around. It was a True SF Joint! We miss you Jade Bar! We miss you!

Long story short… I liked the atmosphere of the bar, although it was a little sultry inside. The happy hour drinks were cheap and pretty good! Now for the long. Did a happy hour bar hop with a friend recently and Jade Bar happened to be first on our list. But when we arrived at the bar… it was closed? Huh? I checked at the bar hours posted… hmm opens at 5pm. Hmm check my cell phone… 4:40pm… Look at my friend… «We’re alcoholics!!» So, we decided to walk around Hayes Valley on a day when the entire Bay Area smelled like dog doo. When we arrived back at Jade, we found people standing outside Jade, checking the time, waiting to get in. That made us feel a lot better! When we finally entered Jade, my friend and I didn’t expect to find three different seating levels! A waterfall flowed from one level down to the other. Cool stuff! We decided hit the bottom floor to have a drink at the bar. We both had a $ 2 Jade Cocktail which sorta smelled like cotton candy yet tasted like starburst. The drink hit the spot… a little buzz going on… on to the next spot!

When I found out Jade Bar was closing — a tear came to my eye. What great memories I have of you… the great happy hours for one! Wonderful conversations and laughter. I will miss you Jade Bar — I hope you come back in another place somewhere in my favorite city. I just introduced Jade Bar to my friend Jeff — we meet there last week for a few drinks and to catch up and now he will probably never go there again! Sob Sob Sob. I will be back Jade Bar for one more drink or two or three before the doors close you can count on it! If you have not hit this place up I highly recommend you do — especially for their great happy hour!

Screw the bitch bartender and the horse she rode in on. Following me down the street to acuse me of something I didn’t do in the first place? I was a regular here for YEARS until I moved across the city. YEARS. Like… organizing DYLs and birthday parties here on a regular basis. I will never ever EVERNEVERNEVER go back to what was once a standard favorite of mine. Nice job of alienating, insulting, offending, and really pissing of your clientele… I know at least 10 people who won’t be coming back because of her completel inappropriate behavior. Thanks for wasting my time, money, and tolerance for stupid people, lady. I’m so glad this place is shutting down.

First time here was after a dope-ass Beastie’s and Talib Kweli show at Bill Graham and let me just say I was super impressed with Jade and I’ve been back numerous times. That first night I thought I’d be inappropriately dressed due to the sweat soaked garb for the show but the crowd/bar was actually quite the welcoming place. I’m all for looking my best at nice bars most of the time but there are just times when you unexpectedly find yourself at a nicer bar sportin’ the usual threads. This place won’t make you feel bad if this is the case… so it is a nicer little lounge that you can actually pop in and enjoy yourself as well as put it in your rotation for a nicer night out. The waterfall is odd but cool… so cooly odd is what downstairs is like. Lots of seats and a fast bar keeps the small area from being to stagnant. Upstairs is also a little cramped but there are so many nooks and crannies in this place you’d swear you’re gettin’ your drink on in an english muffin. The happy hour is good. if not great. Last note… now I forgot if anyone said if there is anything special about the women’s bathroom but the men’s bathroom has a one-way mirror that looks out to the bar and the rest of the bar. On my first visit, slightly inebriated already, I stroll in, pick out the friendliest looking urinal and look over to my right… and bam… see everyone! My first thought is «Ha.that sucks… they have to watch me piss.» Then I realized I was sitting at that bar and saw nothing before… then I became mesmerized. It is so weird to pee while looking right at someone’s face! Weird… but fun! Don’t worry… don’t worry… I have not become a golden shower fanatic since… geez. Bottom line though… it is a solid bar and will always be in my rotation if I am anywhere near Hayes Valley.

A nice, laid-back bar that has the most amazing happy hour special ever: the Jade Cocktail. $ 2 gets you this fruity, vanilla mixture of the gods. Why is this drink so good? What the hell is in it that keeps it $ 2? I don’t want to know, I just want to drink more. The bartender we had was really friendly and interested in what we thought about our drinks, and she made a damn good mojito. If you’re in the area and you want to grab a drink after work or organize a get-together with friends at a comfy, pretty and unpretentious bar, check this place out.

Jade bar PRETTYTINY having it be 3 stories. It is seriously TINY. The main floor seats about 8 people, the bottom floor looks more of a lounge and also houses a bar, and if you go from the main floor, there is a staircase that leads you up one more floor and there is slightly more seating area. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re claustrophobic. What’s best about Jade is their HAPPYHOUR!!! Tuesday through Friday 5 – 7:30 pm & Sunday ALLNIGHTLONG babyyyy! $ 2 Jade Cocktail $ 2.50 selected drafts $ 2.50 well cocktails $ 2 off all wine by the glass

Jade Bar is the epitome of Sunday Fundays because Sundays = Happy Hour prices all night long! Nevermind the barely audible wack ass music and lack of hot male eye candy in the bar. Just imagine downing ten drinks for only $ 20! I look at it as an equivalent to winning the lottery. My cheap Asian ass loved the $ 2 Jade Cocktails, which kind of tasted like cotton candy. If you feel like going all out, try the $ 2.50 well drinks(mmm…vodka cranberry).

My friend Sav loves loves loves this place. I met up with him here last summer. It’s a cool little lounge at the edge between Fillmore and Hayes Valley. It’s a fun spot, and small enough that everyone seems to know each other here. I met some interesting people on a weekday night. Good stuff.

This place really grows on you. The bartenders are great and very friendly. Not to mention that they make amazing drinks. The ambiance is fantastic for when you get just wanna grab a couple drinks and talk the night away. I heard they used to serve appetizers, but I guess they don’t anymore? That kinda sucks … I heard such great things about it. Anyhow, the parking is really easy to find, no cover, no dress code, never a wait. Keep in mind that this really isn’t a place to dance … I say it a great place to go after a date ;).

This is by far one of the BESTHAPPYHOUR joints in the city and let me tell you why: **You cannot beat $ 2.00 Jade cocktails. Yes, I said $ 2.00, okaaaaaay! These are not the typical leftover-alcohol-so-let’s-make-‘em-cheap cocktails; they’re actually TASTY drinks** **Cool group of after-work peeps** **Cute little atmosphere** **A choice between the upstairs, the floor-level bar, or the downstairs lounge area with a bar** **Parking in the ‘hood has been good to me** NOWGOGETHAPPY!!!

The Happy Hour here is SUPERB. $ 2 Jade Cocktail and Well Cocktails allow you to enjoy yourself for hours without breaking the bank. Between 3 of us we managed to order 15 Jade Cocktails within 2 hours! I also really liked the ambiance — waterfall was a nice touch! When we arrived promptly at 5:00 when they open we were worried that the area was too small and it would get too crowded but in the end there was the perfect amount of people for the venue. The bartender was also very attentive and super nice. When I went in and was sad that there was no food he gave us bar munchies! Tons of wasabi peas! I will definitely be coming back to Jade Bar =) Now if only I could figure out how to get off work a little earlier to be sure to snag one of those comfy seats!

I just realized that I am «fan» of a lot of places… which means that I give more 4 star ratings than anything else. Or maybe it’s because I just go where people tell me to go when they say that I’ll «like it»(not that I’ve EVER heard that line used before, and suffice it to say usually I don’t). Last night, I felt that my brain was a little overloaded with heavy stuff, and I didn’t want to go home. I needed to feel special and pretty, so I called up some of my favorite dudes(after one of them texted me) to see what’s good and where they are going. They said they were coming here, so I took the bus(shocking, as it scares me), and wandered in. In case you haven’t seen my tattoo(s), I am a Pisces. Which means I like water and the color green– both prominent here. It also means I’m prone to alcoholism, but that’s a story for another day. Or a story in every other review on here. Although this place is TEENY, it does have an upstairs & downstairs– the downstairs having really comfortable seating. They have a great happy hour, and for the price, those Jadetinis or whatever they are called are a great deal because of their size. In addition to the comfortable seating– necessary because of said happy hour martinis– they have bars on both levels. This is good, as I found those stairs to be treacherous. Supposedly someone has fallen in the little pool, had we stayed any longer it probably would have been me. This is definitely a cozy place, and I could see coming here on a date. Just as soon as I find one…

This is my go-to place when I’m meeting up with some dude on a first date. Mostly because I know that no one I know will be at this place on a weekday. Yeah, I’m weird, always a bit self conscious on a first date. So, when one of my coworkers suggested we go here for happy hour, I was a little leary. Ended up having a great time, which probably had nothing to do with the actual bar. But, it’s the type of place that never seems to get too crowded(at least not in the little loft space). The drink prices definitely can’t be beat — $ 2 Sierra’s! I think this place used to have a kitchen and serve a bunch of tasty appetizers, but I don’t think they do that anymore. Boo! I was hungry! Overall, a decent experience. OK place to share some cheap drinks with friends. PS — the pictures on its website make it look way swankier than it is.

Jade Bar is a happy hour favorite. $ 2 drink specials and an unpretentious vibe are the best features of this bar. We sat on the lower level, which has a water feature and plenty of ottoman style seating to stake out a corner with your pals. There’s a bar downstairs serving up select beers, well drinks and Jade cocktails for only $ 2 — how could I pass that up??? The Jade cocktail was too sweet and sour for my tastes — with a strong pineapple flavor. I stuck to gin and tonics after that. If you want to see your $ 20 stretch much further at a bar than you ever imagined, maintaining that steady buzz, on a budget, give Jade a try.

This place wasn’t as cool in person as it was in my imagination. I didn’t expect it to be like a house in the Oakland hills with its many multiple layers. For an Asian themed bar, it didn’t seem to have good feng shui, but maybe the running water was correcting for that. I ordered the jade cocktail, but it was way too sweet — and I love sweet drinks. Some of the other cocktails we ordered also missed the mark. Despite falling short of my expectations, it was still a chill place. I might be willing to hit it up for happy hour.

Question: What’s better than a happy hour Jade Cocktail for only $ 2? Answer: A happy hour Jade Cocktail for FREE! Or 4 or 5… By the way, did I mention the entire male staff of a popular car dealership right down the street tends to congregate here on certain Wednesday nights? And my girlfriend and I must have looked extremely thirsty. Not that I’m complaining… (Becky the bartender, you are a good, GOOD woman for putting up with all the shenanigans you see!) In my defense, I ain’t no gold digger, biyotch! If I was, I’d at LEAST make sure to order a glass of expensive wine or something… It’s just that those Jade Cocktails are bomb. And Jade Bar is convenient and quite cute. Take me there for happy hour… I won’t care if you call me a cheap date!

I rolled out to Jade with a dozen or so Unilocalers after the O’Reilly’s event last night. Being the lone Jade virgin in the bunch everyone was whooping and hollering about how great Jade was and how Sav could be found here every day of the week and twice on Sundays. I have to say that while I found Jade a pretty place(loved the waterfalls and the mosaic tiles) I just wasn’t that crazy about it. I never really go to bars just to drink. I’m usually only in a bar for the music, food, close proximity to my house or as a predetermined meeting place. Jade didn’t really fit into any of that but if I’m dining in Hayes Valley I’m sure I’ll stop on by. It’s just not going to be a destination for me. According to Jason K you can put Sav in water and he’ll point to Jade. Good to know if I’m ever near a Sav-sized body of water and need to know how to get to Jade.
