I came to San Francisco for the super bowl and while waiting on friends to arrive I stopped in to have a beer and some lunch. Really enjoyed the quick service and the great fish and chips. The next day my friends and I went in again and were welcomed by first name from the day before, which really made in feel good. I highly recommend this place!

I had some relatives visiting and we were up in San Francisco at the Fisherman’s Wharf. We started to get hungry and everywhere had a really long wait. So we decided to eat here since the wait wasn’t too long and they had a bar so that was perfect. This place isn’t terrible, but it isn’t outstanding either. The service was quite slow, even though they were pretty busy. However, we asked them for waters, but we didn’t receive them til after out food came out, which also took a really long time. The server was not sympathetic, but it could have been because she was busy. I ended up ordering a Corona-rita(Corona beer with a margarita) and a half salad half clam chowder. The Corona-rita was pretty good. I have had it before at other places and this one wasn’t as sweet, which I liked. Most places put too much sweet and sour and its like drinking sweet tarts. Yuck! The salad on the side was pretty lame, literally nothing special about it. The clam chowder in the bread bowl was ok, just like the rest of the meal, nothing special and a little bland. The rest of my family ended up ordering some pretty yummy looking things. Next time I will try the burgers or sandwiches.

Came here for breakfast and it was not bad. The portion size was generous and the food was decent, for the price you’re paying. The staff was mildly attentive — not constantly checking on you but we couldn’t find the guy for a few minutes at a time. When I’ve asked for my eggs to be well done at other places, I’ve never had to explain what that is but the waiter here gave me a weird look and asked if I meant scrambled. Not the same thing and I was too embarrassed to explain so I just ordered it sunny side up.

We went to the Fisherman’s wharf on Christmas eve and were looking for places to eat as it was getting late and were hungry… Most of the places were closed and this place had some decent options… so we went in. they said it would be 45min wait… so we put down our name and were waiting… After more than 45 mins we saw that several tables were empty and the waiters were just standing there… so I went to them and mentioned that we have been waiting for a table. the waiters spoke amongst themselves and told me they will go check… we kept waiting but few groups who cane after us got called. so I went up again and asked and the waitress again said she will check… finally after waiting for almost an hour we got a table and we sat there for about 15mins before our waiter showed up… very hungry we ordered appetizers and entrees together… We saw the table behind us get some appetizers before us even though they came later and we didnt even get drinks 30 mins after ordering… We asked the waitress she said she would go back and check. we asked her to at least get our appetizers… after 10mins she came back with our appetizers and she said she was waiting to brink all the orders together… we ordered nachos which apparently had been sitting there so we asked her to get us new ones… After all this experience. though my burger and my wife’s pizza and my friend’s entrees were OK we left disappointed since we had to wait almost 2 hrs to eat something though the tables. the food and everything was ready… One possible break this place could get was that it was Christmas eve where everything is closed and the staff was tired… Anyway go here on a non-busy day and u will enjoy the food and drinks. dont expect stellar service though :)

I was in SF on vacation and happened to walk by this place. The atmosphere is great. I had the coconut shrimp and chips. MUSTGET! They are amazing! Full of flavor and the dipping sauce they are paired with is perfection! My boyfriend had the fish and chips they were also very good! They have a great selection of beers. They serve large portions of food! They also have a part in the restaurant for all TOGO orders. SERVICE: I wish there was a 10 star rating! Our server ANGEL was just fabulous! He was very attentive and friendly! He has a great sense of humor made my boyfriend and I laugh every time he came to check up on us. Which I LOVED! :-)

Awesome location and atmosphere. Nailed the vibe I was looking for on the Pier. Food was good, what I was expecting for price. Everything tastes great. Server was friendly and always smiling. He was rather busy, and felt like he was stretched out to much, but he nailed it for what he could do.

Service was friendly and fast Restaurant was clean and tidy I had the Chili dog and it was disgusting ! The only thing decent was the Nathan’s Hot dog. Didn’t use chili but some version you find at a gas station and cheese was fake and gross My kid had Mac and Cheese and it was largely disappointing, guys use Kraft or Annie’s vs making your own crap The Turkey club wife had was great– full of flavor and meat I would save your money and stay away

Ok… We’re to start ! December 26th2015(today) knowing it will be supper packed everywhere we decide to go to the Pier. Got to this place and we put our name on the waiting list… 30 min… Cool. We waited … Finally our name was called out. We got eats at the fire pit. Okay…(I forgot to mention there was 7 of us with a baby) and only 4 chairs around… Okkkaaayyyyy??? Any ways we were willing to work with this… At this point we start to move to get our seats and the lady looks at me and said«oo I’m sorry you can’t have any strollers outside» are you serious !!! We clearly told them ! And waited 40 minutes and did not even have enough chairs to sit on… Forget it!!! We left ! I’m a sf native and I will be sure to tell people to never come here ! I am beyond upset with this place !

OVERALLAMAZING! The waiter we first had was okay. You could tell he was kind of new so we weren’t too hard on him. Then, after a while, the manager took care of us and he was the most friendly, upbeat guy I’ve ever met. He really takes the time to get to know his customers and make you feel so comfortable. I had my dog with me and he even took the time to suggest what would even be good for him. lol. He was very informative and helpful. My whole family came to love him by the end of our meal. The food was amazing! I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Penne, best pasta I’ve ever had. I would recommend this to everyone for any occasion. Bring your dog! But if you do, you’ll have to sit outside.

The items I ordered sounded better on paper. I started off with the coconut fried shrimp. Too much coconut and the dipping sauce wasn’t all that. Then I continued with buffalo wings. They were saucy and juicy– the best part of my meal for sure. I finished my meal off with the the chorizo & chicken pizza. Both the meats and the pizza itself was really dry Service was good; waitress kept the refills coming and was patient with our indecisive ordering, lol.

I’ll admit it… I love SF, including the touristy places. For some SF residents this is a sin, but I don’t care. I like the energy, the happy visitors, and the fun. I’m all about the hole-in-the-wall establishments, but I also enjoy the lively options at Pier 39, including this place. We ordered from the takeout window and sat at a table designated for this purpose. Our two dogs were with us and it was so nice to sit outside. Food: –Clam chowder: not our favorite, but not bad. There was a decent amount of clams, but I wouldn’t get this again. A little salty too. –Fish, chicken, and beef tacos: these were SOGOOD. The fish was perfectly crispy. The beef and chicken were tender and flavorful. Ambiance: –Sitting under the awning protected us from the breeze and it was nice to be outside, but away from the foot traffic. Service: –They are so quick and friendly here!

One of my usual spot whenever I visit Pier 39. This place crowded as usual, but the wait time is less than 10 minute maximum. Large space for group dining, has a outside patio if you want people to see you eat, well-put– feels like I’m a tourist though I’m not actually one. Staffs are friendly, whatever you ask for something they actually give u enough portion instead of other places that are cheap to give you just a little enough so you’ll stay quite. Food were good, I love their drinks so refreshing. This place is not to expense and a place where you can chill with your family, friends or anyone you like to bring, it’s a causal layout restaurant.

Mexico meets California meets a tourist trap. It was, somewhat to my surprise, a very good experience. We were greeted and seated quickly. The hostess was great, seating us right where we requested. Our waitress was timely and very friendly. Clean bathrooms and clean tables. Be warned, it is very touristy. We came here for an early lunch before the fleet week show. We ordered the cheese quesadilla with fries and a salmon rice bowl. Both were yummy. My favorite part was the beverages. We both had Coke Zeros with special flavoring a. Mine was cherry vanilla. Yes!

Definitely a tourist spot but rightfully so. If you’re sitting outside you get to do lots of people watching and if you’re inside you get a great view of the water and boats. So, you win either way. We got a coupon from the Pier 39 fun pack that we obtained at the welcome center. Oh and did I mention that the coupon book was free with my Unilocal checkin?! How awesome is that? Well, we used the coupon that gives you free garlic pizza bread with an entrée purchase. The garlic pizza was made with fresh minced garlic and was delicious. We also ordered some yummy 23 oz cocktails to go with our meal. I wasn’t too hungry so I got a bowl of the clam chowder and shared a little of my fiancé’s teriyaki burger. The clam chowder had lots of chunks of clam in it which I thought was awesome. I had some the day before at another restaurant and I swear it was all potato and no clam. The bowl was very filling and only $ 1 more than a cup. You can also upgrade to a bread bowl for $ 3 more. My fiancé’s teriyaki burger was very good. Lots of gooey cheese, yummy grilled pineapple and perfectly cooked chicken. Good stuff. Yes though some might call this a tourist trap, I would say they actually did a great job! Oh and did I mention that service was great too? Our waitress was always wearing a smile, attentive and even answered our touristy questions. Thumbs up!

When I told one of my favorite people from work that my husband and I were headed to California for a multi-stop journey, he insisted that we go to Wipeout for margaritas and good pub food. With such a strong recommendation, I bookmarked it on Unilocal so we could fuel up before our trip to Alcatraz, since it was right near the pier we would be leaving from. Overall, I enjoyed lunch and the surf-themed atmosphere. I had a delicious steak Mexisalad, and made sure we got a picture next to the statue of a surfer to show that we really went to Wipeout and had a good time. This is certainly one of the better options at Fisherman’s Wharf from what I could tell, and I would return if in that area.

Great place to grab a bite and it wasn’t too crowded either. Their food options are bar and grill type of foods. I had the chicken teriyaki bowl and it was delicious. This plate was packed with flavor and their coconut rice was scrumptious! The place has a surfer/90s feel to it and the tunes are pumping! A very chill place to hang out. They also have TVs so that you can watch the games. Service was pretty good too!

We were looking for a place to just hang out and drink after doing some sightseeing at Fisherman’s Wharf. We decided to just check out the bars near Pier 39 and Wipeout had a pretty nice outdoor seating area so we decided to check it out. When we found out there was a wait to grab a table outside, we just went inside since there wasn’t a wait. We checked in with the host and told him we didn’t need menus since we just planned on drinking. Then out of nowhere the host(some older Filipino guy) just went on a rant about how he has to give us menus if we want a table. He basically said this is how it works, you either take the menus or you don’t get a table. Alright man, we’ll take the menus… relax. He was speaking in such a condescending tone, almost like we offended him by suggesting we didn’t need menus. I have no clue what this guy’s deal was but he seriously needs to just chill out because his confrontational attitude totally killed the vibe. When we sat down at the table with the food menus we didn’t need, not a single server even approached the table within the first 5 – 10 minutes. We were fed up and just decided to walk to the outdoor area and grab a few stools at the bar. For such a crappy bar, the drinks were expensive and pretty weak too. What a terrible combination. The only bright spot in the whole time we were here were the amazing garlic fries. I’m a garlic lover and even I was impressed by the amount they put in there. There would just be glorious mounds of garlic and butter that I would scoop up with the fries. Seriously some of the best garlic fries I’ve ever had. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend coming to Wipeout. The rude host was such a turn off, and our laziness to find another bar was the only reason we stayed. The garlic fries were good, but even that couldn’t salvage the rest of the experience. There’s gotta be better places out there at Fisherman’s Wharf.

I came here on a Thursday evening and it wasn’t packed at all. There’s inside and outside seating(don’t worry, there’s heaters up above). When you walk in, make a left towards the entrance where a hostess can help you! I ordered the BBQ Pork and my friend ordered the Chili Cheese Dog(see below). It comes with fries and coleslaw. The portions are decent and plenty to feel full afterwards! I really liked the texture of the BBQ Pork — tenderrr. The BBQ flavor was really yummy — not spicy or anything like that either. My friend enjoyed the chili cheese dog as well =] I also came here and went to the bar. The bartenders are super nice and their drinks are priced normally which kind of surprised me since this place is on Pier 39. I would definitely come back here again to hang out since it is pretty spacious to eat with a large group of friends! I also really appreciate how their menu thoroughly points out what is in each of the entrees and drinks they have!
