super fast service! I dropped some dress pants off at 10:30AM and he got it done by 4pm, which was nice since I was going out of town the next day for a wedding, Not the best job but it was good enough. I would come back again if I need something fast and simple done.

Took in four dress shirts to have the sides tapered in, charged me $ 12 per shirt which is fairly average. The shirts were ready as promised in three days but after i got home and looked at the shirts he just did a single stich instead of a double like it was originally. Just by seeing that i know he is just an average tailor or as his business card reads «Taylor». I wouldn’t go back here again.

Cheapest place for dry cleaning in town. That’s why I stopped going to Formosa Cleaners. The guy who works there is a calm quiet guy. He seems to have a nonchalant type of personality. His prices are cheap and I’ve never had any problems other than it being closed at 7 pm even though Unilocal says its 7:30. Maybe he left early that one time I stopped by. Who knows. Anyways. Coats are approximately $ 5 each. Dresses are $ 3.50 unless it has complicated features like tons of pleating. Shirts are dirt cheap.
Minus 1 star bc he’s not the cheapest tailor. The cheapest tailor with the best quality work is on San Gabriel Blvd, by Emerson, next to that check cashing place called Nha May Van Quan Tailor. He is fairly priced regardless.

I came here a hand full of times for my dry cleaning and was extremely disappointed with the service. The owner would always take his sweet time to gather my clothes every time. One time he made me wait while he was talking to his friend on the phone. The last straw was when he almost lost one of my shirts! I arrived on the pickup date and he did not even have all my clothes ready. Ridiculous.
I don’t know about the alteration services, but this guy seemed like he hated what he does and was a real jerk about serving me every time. Worst customer service ever.

My family & I have been coming to him for ages now! He’s quick & the quality is always good. I agree with Diana W., the parking is horrendous, but it’s cool. He’s excellent at what he do & I would recommend him to anyone.

I am posting an update. The «original hem» on my Joe’s Jean is wearing off after months of washing. It creates a faded chunky hem at the bottom of my jeans, and one can clearly tell where the «hem» is by looking at it.
I’m not sure if in a better hand, the hem would’ve been better altered. If anyone has any recommendations on another high quality alterations place, do share!

AWESOME! $ 6 per pants hemming, next day pick up!!! Crazy uh?! And it looked terrific!!! I made it a tiny tiny tiny bit longer then recommend, which was still in okay range according to him and it turned out great!

It was $ 6 to hem some slack pants, another $ 15 to alter the length of my dress. This was a maid of honor dress, so I made sure to read some Unilocal reviews before attempting to visit this place.
I was able to add a small train, by changing the length of the alterations with no extra charge too.
This was a pretty good deal and the workmanship was outstanding. It took about 2 – 3 days for turnaround time. Vinh is a one man show and he appears to be quite confident in his work and it definitely shows. I suggest calling before picking up your finished goods.
Now that I’ve experienced and trusted him with some important items to alter, I definitely will be back for future alterations.

I’ve had two of my jeans hemmed here and they turned out ok but it seems like the measurements were a little off. The jeans were still a bit long but it wasn’t that bad. You may need to add some extra length when you get your pants hemmed.

Went in with a pair of Super T True Religions jeans, and I specifically asked tailor/​shorten the length to my heel. Two days later, I got it back with jeans too long that my shoes keep stepping on the bottoms.
Don’t get me wrong, he is good with originial hem, I couldn’t even tell the difference compared with brand new TR bottoms. But, I do notice that my left leg is now longer than my right leg jean length; I mean, the guy can’t even tailor the two legs to be the same length… I asked him to shorten it, he just refused and said «hard to do» even though he actually needs to cut off about 2 inches more; I am not asking to shorten another 0.5 inch so it actually gets to my heel.
Worst tailoring experience ever, now I have to go tailor it somewhere else so I could get even lengths on both legs so my shoes won’t step on my expensive jeans…

Love this tailor. been going to him for probably 4 years now. All my overpriced jeans come here. along with few bridemaids dresses and random dress and skirts.
Very quick turn around time, and very good work. If you need it faster you can always ask him for it sooner. The hem is find. i mean all my jeans are rock n republic and i have no complaints… but seriously who is going to look at ur hem on the bottom of ur jeans!!! FREAKIN OCD ppl…

I came here and got one of my pants altered and it came back just as I wanted it. My friend had been coming here for a while, but her garments had gotten stretched out. I’m not sure what happened, but there seems to be some inconsistency going on.

reasonable prices and quick turn around, but just don’t expect perfection. if you’re considering vinh to alter some 100+ dollar jeans, i recommend you to take them elsewhere. i took two pairs here and the hemming is visible through the front.
so visible that my coworkers laugh and point at it. i hate my coworkers.

Great job altering jeans… i bring all my designer jeans here and he does an excellent job! I think to keep the original bottom threading at the end is about $ 12 dollars and regular altering is $ 8. I altered about 4 true religion jeans here (with the thick threading) and for all the jeans — no one could tell it was NOT the original length… =)

We went there (because of reviews from Unilocal) and the
person who greeted us was not friendly at all! I asked him
if he could sew some binding on some fleece – very simple
and he just looked at me with this bewildered look and asked
when I needed it. I said within four days and he just looked
at me and said no and walked away! My daughters could
not believe how rude he was and we will never ever go
back there.

Sooo I don’t know how to sew. came here to get some buttons that had fallen off a dress shirt sewn back on. He did a fine job, much better than my dry cleaners had tried to do. No complaints here, admittedly, this was a very simple task for him hah. I think this one shirt ran me $ 3.

CHEAP! and a GOOD JOB! Vinh has tailored 8 suit pants and 12 pairs of jeans between me and my man.
And these are not cheap jeans… I’m talking about Frankie B’s, True Religion, Hudsons, Joe’s…etc.
Warning, he does tailor your jeans on the short side, so my advice is sag a little below your waist, and when you actually wear it, it’ll be perfect. =P
Girls who wear their jeans with heels– sag your jeans too when he is measuring.
At $ 6 for jeans alteration… you can’t complain. –1 star for the dingy shop… no where to sit and he doesn’t really talk to you. It’s sort of in and out and you’re gone.
And if you’re not asian you can go too! my bf is white and he loves this place!

If you take something in on Monday, it’s done by Wed. And the prices are really good. The parking, however, is terrible – park on the residential street right before it.

The price is cheap. But you get what you pay for. I had my dress pants shortened at this place. The stitches show up in the front of the pants very obviously. I can do the same work myself at home if I don’t mind the obvious stitches. The work did not look professional at all. Basically, the pants were ruined. I was very disappointed. I thought I should let people know. If you don’t care about the clothes, just want a cheap place to do the alterations, then this is your choice. If you have important use for the clothes, don’t go there.

This place has since moved to a location on New Ave., just south of Valley Blvd. It’s across the street from KFC. This is such a find for cheap alterations. Vinh is the only tailor there, but his 2 kids are there sometimes after school. He’s not a chatty fellow, but nice enough.
This place is the opposite of glamorous. It’s not aesthetically pleasing in any way, but he does have a fitting room for you to put on your to-​be-​altered clothing. He’ll pin the fabric in/​up and will do so until you say it’s at the right length.
Pant hems used to cost $ 5 when I lived nearby. I think prices may have gone up to $ 6 now, but still cheap! Now, I’m short, so I’ve accepted that I will always have to get my pants hemmed. This cheap alteration at Vinh’s makes it less of a pain. (Imagine having to tack on $ 10+ to each new pair of pants at the more costly places.) The alteration is decent, for both pants and jeans. There’s an extra cost for pants with lining.
Recently, Vinh’s skills were tested when my boyfriend took his Calvin Klein suit to him to alter. I must say, he passed with flying colors. He shortened the length of the jacket & sleeves, hemmed the trousers and expanded the waist (my bf probably wouldn’t approve of me publicizing that!) for under $ 60. I don’t have any prices to compare that to, but it sounds pretty decent. We brought it in on a Monday evening and needed it for Friday, so Vinh was cool about us picking it up on Thursday afternoon.
