Found this place while waiting for a patient in the lazik eye center in the same building. The owner was a grump, but he would make you a turkish coffee w/cardamom and pepper spices after you assured him you know what you were ordering. The folder w/photos and history of himself explained how he taught the founders of Starbucks everything they knew about expresso. A bitter man, and excellent coffee.

It’s closed. Sorry I must rate it in order to have this posted, so I put it in the middle.

Just a small place with a little selection, but not too little. And close to 280, so very convenient. I grabbed a chocolate croissant and a soy mocha this morning for my commute to work from my bf’s – well-made drink, not too sweet, fairly well balanced. Prices seem about average, not really cheap, but not horribly expensive, either. One of the other Unilocalers mentioned a yogurt parfait – YUM, I’ll have to look for that at some point. Yes, I would go back. Three and three quarter stars.

Yes, this is your neighborhood café. Clearly preferable to hitting any of the nearby Starbucks or Peets mass-feederies. The espresso is fine, seating and power outlets are lacking, however. When a friend and I came here to play a round or two of speed chess we might as well have entered a Country festival wearing«Vote Hillary» t-shirts, the disdain for us taking up one of the three tables was tangible. Which is, somewhat, understandable. The place is small, well visited during work hours, and doesn’t need a bunch of mooches playing chess and sipping a double. The lack of power outlets and the abysmal AnchorFree connectivity(search my reviews for AnchorFree) make this not a place to stay for longer than just a quick shot and some reading in the sun while inhaling 280 exhaust and listening to the sweet sound of three major traffic veins intersecting right around the café.

A neat little coffee shop. I believe they have free WiFi. Nice people.

I go to this place often, and they make great coffee, never burn the soy milk(which happens WAY too often at other places) and they’re always friendly! Edit: Have been staying away, since the past three times that I’ve tried to get coffee before work, they were still closed… at 7:30am…even though their sign says they’ll be open at 7am. Lame.

This café definitely has a «local» feel about it — small menu, never crowded, but therefore also not the formulaic Starbucks feel! We enjoy their yogurt parfait, along with the sandwiches.

Coffee Bug is an excellent alternative to not have to visit a formulaic Starbucks or Peet’s. It’s authentic and genuinely wonderful coffee. I’ts a quaint place with inside and outside seating. It never gets really busy, so it’s size works well for it’s customer base. They also serve Eastern European patries alongside bagels and other yummy things. Service has always been pleasant each visit. Try them today:)

Coffee Bug is a bit small, but it’s a quality café. The owner assures us that«He knows what he’s doing» when I ask for an espresso con panna. There is lots of literature around the café to educate customers on what makes good coffee. He clearly takes pride in his work. Oh yes, and free Wi-Fi sweetens the deal. The only drawbacks are the small footprint of the store with minimal seating, and the location, which is in a small shopping center, off of the main drag of Saratoga near of 280. It can be a little hard to get to, and there is no view from the windows except for a parking lot. It is a nice place to grab a cuppa coffee, but it’s a bit out of the way for me, especially since it is so close to one of my favorite cafes in the immediate area.
