Once again in here to get more egg rolls! I have tried other place around San Jose and San Francisco and there is no place compares to this joint. If you are having a party remember to check then out. The banh cuon looks pretty good too so I will give that a try next time and write another review on that.

Came by the other day to grab some light snacks. Started off with the Fresh Rolls and they were okay. $ 3 for 2 rolls. Moved on to the Banh Cuon which was very fresh and large portioned for $ 6.5. The noodles weren’t too oily, and they were fresh and the tips had ground pork. Lastly grabbed a small portion of rice noodle wrapped in grilled pork which was decent as well. Service was very friendly by the staff and they’re cash only. Plenty of parking is available behind the building.

Fresh products and excellent service! Will return again for party trays of Vietnamese rice paper/noodle dishes! Highly recommended. The owner was super nice — I needed a party tray of grilled pork rolls(banh uot thit nuong) for a party on super short notice. He was beyond accommodating given that they close early on Tuesdays – he was willing to come back to the store for a late pick up but ended up staying half an hour past closing time for me. The food was packaged neatly and he even gave me a discount! I ended up buying a few more things(some banh cuon thit) that was prepackaged on the counter. I came home and did a quality check and the banh uot and cuon were SUPER fresh — like the most fresh I have tried in awhile and not greasy at all. The rice paper/rolls were so fresh that they felt pillowy soft and lightly sticky. Also, the storefront was very clean. The banh uot thit nuong is a great option for parties as they can cut the rolls into bite sized pieces. Also, since it is just grilled pork(with lettuce/mint/salad wrapped in rice paper), it is much more appealing to a wider variety of people — my coworkers are now big fans and ask me to call in orders for them. Note: cash only and make a u-turn at Quimby(ignore Google Maps).

This review is mostly for the Banh hoi. It’s so difficult to find good banh hoi where I live so when we found this place it was heaven! They make it right there in the store and you can order by the pound. The noodles have such a great texture and so delicious with meats and fresh herbs. We usually buy 10 pounds and bring it all home to make banh hoi long heo, which is sooooo goooodddd!

Dai Loi was a random stop because we were in the area. We saw the sign for fresh banh beo and decided to stop by. It’s a simple storefront with multiple prepackaged items available for purchase to buy up front. You bring the items to the cashier and pay for your order. They have a large menu you can order from if any item isn’t available. The cashier/owner was super friendly and went through the ingredients of every item though I had tried some before. He shared they make everything fresh daily and I could tell. My order: Banh Beo — a small platter of banh beo alongside some other appetizers including one with mung bean and another with a deep fried shrimp inside. All were delicious with the included fish sauce and very fresh. Banh cuon thit — fresh rice rolls wrapped around lettuce and grilled pork. Super tasty with the included peanut based dip and chili sauce. Very very fresh. Overall, great stop. It looks to be a newer location but would be a great spot for large party orders or quick snacks to go. Very friendly service and clean. Dai Loi is cash only.

We were looking for a place to order 4lbs of banh hoi. We called another location at noon for 5pm pick up and they said you had to preorder days in advance. So we called Dai Loi and they said no problem. Their banh hoi was really good. They were wrapped in rolls, so it was easy to pick up. The pieces stuck together and was not mushy. It was actually spongy, so it was able to hold the fish sauce. I really liked Dai Loi. I’m a fan!

Yummy! Came to see this spot for myself after my initial review on the food brought home by my dad and was treated like royalty there. The nice lady in the front helped me: put in my order of half banh cuon thit and banh cuon tom and got me out in about five minutes. She was super sweet! I assumed that was the owner. Brought my order to work as lunch for myself and my supervisor since shes interested in trying out vietnamese dishes. My supervisor thoroughly loved it, just as i expected her to! This is now my go to spot for these dishes.(Writing this review as im once again, eating banh cuon thit from here for the third time this week.) lol

I discovered this place after my coworker brought banh beo in to work during a potluck. It was my first time trying banh beo, and It was heaven in my mouth x3 and a half. I can’t compare it to any other places that serve banh beo but this places’ banh beo is the best i’ve ever had, and the only I’ve ever had. The woman who runs the bakery is so helpful and so informative. I’m filipino so I don’t know much about vietnamese dishes but she she told me what was in what and what tastes the best. She kept telling me to try this dessert she made with banana and caramel and. cashew I want to say? Pretty good! But I didn’t end up buying it. Haha. But i will be returning for their delicious banh beo!

Great place for party trays and take out food! They have freshly made Banh Beo, Banh Hoi, Banh Cuon Thit and so so much more. They sell grilled BBQ pork by the pound so you can get this and make your own concoctions at home. Much, if not all, of their take out menu is also available as party trays which is awesome!

Favorite place to go to for my vietnamese rice rolls. I’m all about the fresh Banh Beo, Banh Hoi, Banh Cuon, and so much more! I don’t exactly know how it’s made but I know it’s a lot of steps. If you have ever seen how these perfect little creatures are made, you would totally appreciate it. Banh Beo is poured into individual saucers that have to get scooped out with a yellow bean paste and shredded shrimp topping. Banh Hoi is rice vermicelli woven into intricate bundles that are strings that kind of stick together. Of course, also best when eaten fresh. You can eat it with a complimentary meat like roasted pork and fish sauce that they provide! I think Banh Cuon is a few flat layers on top of each other or rolled together(something like that!) Banh Cuon Tom is my second favorite. Now that you know how unique they all are, Dai Loi provides all of them! Perfect for cravings or party trays. They have thit nuong, nem nuong, and shrimp too! It’s not just rice rolls. Anything you need, they probably would have! I usually come in the afternoons and never have trouble finding parking! Support your family-owned and operated local business. This is a MUST in ESSJ for me.

I like this place. Their food is made fresh daily. I often come in the evening pick up food on nights I don’t cook. But most things are sold out in the evening. For Luna New Year, I ordered Banh Beo Ngot which served with coconut milk, Banh Beo Tom Chai, and Bi Cuon, all came out delicious. My family really like their food. I like the fact they give you enough nuoc mam which you don’t have to buy extra. Unlike other places are stingy with the nuoc mam. My sister and I love their Bap Ham(the white corn) served with shredded fresh coconut and roasted peanut with sugar/salt. This is a nice treat, the kind of food we grew up with. They also have several large trays for pick up if you don’t order in advance. Try their Banh Hoi, Banh It Tran, they are better than Phi Khanh. Their service is fast. I like Patrick, he is very polite and nice. This is a small family run business. The owners are hard working people. I am a big fan of local business. I am so glad they open near my home. I don’t have to drive far for fresh authentic Vietnamese food.

This place moved from its previous location which I preferred. Now the parking lot is kinda tight. The main reason to go to this place is to pick up the fresh banh hoi and nem for a party at home. You shouldn’t have to wait long even if you don’t preorder. Their banh hoi are really really good. Made fresh daily! They will likely have a few random trays of items you can pick up without preorder. They have a fairly extensive menu which you can call in and order – if you speak vietnamese, which I don’t. I go often enough though that at one point they gave me a paper menu and were like, «Call ahead-use the numbers» As for service, it was fine. They don’t exactly fawn over people but they are efficient. I’ve never had any trouble and like I said, I don’t speak Vietnamese. If you’re lucky, maybe a son who speaks english will be working the till.

The owner is EXTREMELYRUDE! Called in for a pick up order and she basically rushed over my entire order. Hadn’t even finished putting in my whole order when she let out a long loud sigh as if we were interrupting her precious time. After she had the nerve to say«hurry up, there are other customers here at the store waiting!» As if phone orders aren’t considered customer business orders? It was a pretty big order and this is just flat out unacceptable service! RUDE! RUDE! RUDE!

This spot is freshly opened… They always have goodies out like banh beo and banh cuon, my favorite is the thit nuong roll in banh uot! I always swing by when in the area or order for parties there. Customer service is great very nice and courteous.

This bakery has been around for quite some time. It has a very small space, and it’s a mini restaurant included like bun bo hue and such what. I give it credit for being clean, organized and very quiet. My favorite would be their colored sweet custard cakes mixed with honey and goo. The selection is lacking and I wish they had more buns, breads and whatever is in a bakery. There’s nothing really to say because I can’t describe how lacking but potentious this bakery can be.
