Careful: a lot of my friends have had fraudulent charges from here, weeks later, when they used their credit cards. Others have had bills rounded up or a dollar over, which really adds up. The risk of theft isn’t worth the atmosphere. Go elsewhere, or pay cash.

The bad news: This is not a dive bar.
The good news: the bartenders are highly competent, and there’s a good vibe to the place.
The prices are OK. Dive Bar’s clientele is an interesting mix. The afterwork crowd in the late afternoon will often swap out for the college crowd as the night goes on.

Well! I met the best guy in the world here :) plus some really good friends from Germany! It’s one of the best bars on Wednesdays! They have Dj Vyxero and Karaōke! Lots of good times with talented singers.

Fun little spot to go out. When it’s crowded on the weekends sometimes service can get a little slow, but hey, that’s any bar!
I’ve been coming to Dive Bar for years and it’s pretty consistently offered up good drinks, music, and space to dance and/​or socialize. If you’re looking for an unassuming stop on a night out, definitely check out this place.

I’ve always enjoyed this place and have a great time every time I go. They have the best happy hour (late night, too!) and the staff is friendly and fast. The live dj’s have a nice selection and there’s also pool!

They have $ 1 well shots on Tuesday late at night, if only you could get through to the bartender at the bar. I’d give this place 5 stars if they had more bartenders. It took about 20 – 25 minutes for my group to get our drinks. I’d suggest you to buy multiple once you get the chance so you don’t have to go back to the bar and wait again.
I went back on a Thursday night which was much less busy. The bar was almost empty and the bartenders offered my friends and I shots on the house and even brought it to our table. I’d suggest coming on a slow night for drinks on the house, if you’re a girl :)

Sunday night pretty chill crowd! Everyone was picking some interesting music on the Juke. Felt like a chill party! bartender was quick and helpful. came from out of town and this was exactly the type place we were looking for!

Music was good not to loud not a bad crowd for a Monday night. Drink specials was a little pricey also wasn’t informed of the power hour 11 – 12. Played pool had fun. The guy at the door was very nice and welcoming, the lady bartender was a little cold and not to friendly and my beer had a lil too much foam on top. Ill be back againm

Great atmosphere. Decent drinks… but
$ 17 for a 6 – 7 oz margarita and a shot of butterschnapps? For these prices there should be functioning locks on the bathroom doors and a stall for each toilet in the women’s bathroom. Just my opinion. I’ll still come here. But I’ll be less obliged to order an actual mixed drink or a shot.

I moved to the downtown area maybe about five years ago; it took me a couple of months to find a spot I liked but after finding Dive, I ended my search. Cheap drinks, good crowd, frequent events and there’s room to spread out and watch the game. Best part of all is there’s Blue Moon on tap.
I recommend partaking on Tuesdays nights for one dollar mixed drinks!

Was in SJ for work and some coworkers wanted to karaōke so this place had good reviews. When we got there at around 1030 place had a small amount of people and NO KARAOKE! Well karaōke is only on Wed nights folks… We decided to hang out in the comfortable couches near the entrances. The music was good… Dj started playing 80s music and it got us moving. Bartender was on point, he made some girly shots for the ladies who enjoyed them.
The place was the place to be that night. The crowd included young and old travelers and locals. We enjoyed the night in SJ without the karaōke.

Had an awesome experience here this past Friday night. We dropped in after a comedy show at the Improv around the corner and are so glad we did!
The staff was on it, brought our drinks quickly and kept them coming. We danced like teenagers, the music was good and the crowd was fun! The owner was really cool and seemed to care about his establishment and keeping his customers happy. Very cool, we were all happy little party animals that night! #Yolo
We will be back!

The drinks are cheap and the bartenders are kindly folk.
There’s Blue Moon on tap, hooray! And honestly, that’s one of the qualities that can make or break a bar for me. What can I say, I’m a strange duck and I like having something familiar on the menu. I rarely do cocktails anymore, as they are often too potent and knock me on my ass. I’ll stick to the beer and wine list, thanks so much.
If you did want to imbibe in a mixed drink of sorts, Dive Bar seems to have a plethora of specials listed on their menu, something different every night. In the mood for an AMF? I believe Thursdays would be your night.
The women’s restroom is a little strange (one enclosed stall, plus one other toilet next to the sink), but other than that, it’s a solid little hangout. I would probably return if I was in the area.

This place is like a mullet. business in the front and party in the back.
The bar has reasonably priced drinks in front. but the party is in the back. Pool table and dancing area… woot woot.
It has an eclectic vibe with all kinds of folks who are just kicking it… will definitely come back
