Lured in by the sign for $ 2 happy hour tacos, I found this does not include lengua(tongue), but still got one at the usual price of $ 2.95. No cilantro. The taco looked OK with a good pile of meat and onions on two large corn tortillas and a side of some chips and salsa( ), but the tongue meat was under-cooked and chewy like a rubber band. They have a decent salsa bar with a few salsas, and pickled jalapenos and carrots, but there’s not much help for rubbery meat. 2 stars because the cashier /server was very friendly.

This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant to go to whenever I’m in downtown. No more dealing with the extremely long lines at La Vic’s! My favorite item here are the California Burrito’s! Imagine a burrito filled with lots of French Fries, Carne Asada, Avocado, & the divine orange sauce. It’s a great way to end a crazy night filled with heavy drinking. Visiting Muchos is one of the things I look most forward to whenever I’m hanging out in the Downtown San Jose Area. If you’re feeling really hungry and don’t want to deal with the crazy drunkies at La Vic’s, I really recommend visiting Muchos. The menu has a lot of variety but I’m guilty of only ordering the California Burrito’s because they’re THAT good!

Best late night spot downtown. I recommend you come here if you are looking for quality Mexican food. La Vic’s does not compare.

California Burritos baby!!! Me and my buddy Brandon would come here before Sharks games as our pre-game ritual. Great and friendly customer service! Carlos always attends us well as his regulars that come in during hockey season and throughout the year. I’ve only tried a few other items on the menu, but have all been delicious! Restrooms are fairly clean for being shared by both men and women. I usually park in the 3rd street parking garage and walk across the street. Parking can be a hassle if you want to park on the streets. Definitely worth trying of you’re out late night on Santa Clara street or passing by!

Seriously?! A burrito with everything perfectly done + French fries packed so nicely into it?! Some mad burrito skills. And an amazing staff! Bonus: they are open until 3 am!

This is a small Mexican restaurant that joins the many restaurants on East Santa Clara St, and doesn’t disappoint. It has been difficult for me to find a good Mexican restaurant up in Northern California, because SoCal does it best(and I don’t care what you say)! My boyfriend, my friend, and I came came here last night and all ordered the California burrito. I ordered the carne asada, with no sour cream or pico de gallo. The fries were thin, which I love in a burrito because it gives it a nice crunch. The avocado was fresh, as was the carne asada, which was also nicely seasoned. It was a huge burrito! So good, and I actually finished the whole thing. The inside is very colorful and there are pictures of the owner at different events meeting many people all along the east wall. It gives the place a very homey touch. This place made it to the list of top five(and only) Mexican restaurants I visit in San Jose. Hope to visit again soon!

Ordered carne asada fries and horchata– to go. Totally impressed that the fries were not soggy. Mmm!!! Horchata =yum. Pros: prices reasonable. Portions loaded. Cons: I wish the horchata came in a larger size… Will order from this restaurant again!

Nacho review: Chips are the most important ingredient in nachos and these are straight out of a bag. Not even a good bag of chips but a stale cheap bag. The toppings are minimal. Over half the chips don’t have anything on them. Grade: F Margaritas: Soda water. Can’t taste the tequila at all. Hope you’re not diabetic.

Awesome place. Great late night menu and Carlos… made the visit worth it. High five bro! I would revisit just to see this guy again. He made our visit fun and relaxing. My boyfriend recommended this place off memory of a previous visit years ago and I’m glad he did. Oh and fries in a burrito… BOMB!

Man… Muchos! My love affair with this place started in 2012. My first time really taking in the San Jose atmosphere and day and nightlifes respectively. This place left such an impression on me that I remember going back for a round two the same day. Yea Muchos! Is worthy of the exclimation point in the name, it’s that good. They have pretty nice prices and the portion size is worth it, seeing downtown SJ is a college town, it’s priced well to accommodate that crowd as well the normal everyday food lover like myself. They have the usual things you see at most taquerias, but what sets then apart is «California Style» a lot of taquerias are adapting to this style, but Muchos have set themselves apart from the rest in my opinion. If you don’t know what«California Style» is, it’s fries in place of beans and rice. I always go for the California Steak Fries $ 10. You get a generous portion of fries, layed with chopped carne asada, guacamole, sourcream, tomatos and chopped onions… my mouth water just thinking about them. They also have the California Burrito and the big brother«Grand» California Burrito. $ 7 and $ 8 respectively. The same ingredients as the fries basically just wrapped in a flour tortilla. They have a pretty good quesadilla here too, I always usually opt for thr steak option when I order one here. Get the spicy orange house sauce to dip it in or just use as a condiment… amazing! In conclusion, a lot of food and taqueria options in downtown San Jose. But Muchos! sits in it’s own league, come in hungry and leave full. If you plan a nightout in SJ, be prepared to wait in the long line after clubbing and lounging. As always, Unilocal your experience.

Food is OK Seemingly authentic Hot, loud, somewhat cramped dining area with about twenty televisions blaring Reluctant to part with their parking validation rickets No shortage of feral-looking patrons

I had a glorious Milky Way from Paper Plane, but they closed their kitchen at midnight. It was 1AM and I wanted some food. After wandering around a little bit I decided to come here since it had good reviews. Yummmmmm. I ordered a super taco with Carnitas for $ 4. It had 2 tortillas, tons of meat, guac, sour cream, etc and it tasted great! They have a fair amount of seating. They have a little salsa bar. The orange mild salsa was tasty. Definitely a good choice for your belly & your wallet!

Yummy california burritos and carne asada fries! Make sure to grab some of their orange sauce too :) I usually order my food to-go, but if you stay and eat here they do give you some free chips with your order :) The food isn’t very greasy, so that’s a good thing! They open late, so this is a perfect place for SJSU students! But they have a limited late night menu and prices do increase at night! They also have a punch card — buy 6 burritos, get your 7th free, so make sure to grab a card and bring it every time you order a burrito! P. S. If you’re feeling lazy you can order on doordash to get it delivered: D

Love it! The cashier is really nice and makes you feel really welcome. I’ve been here twice now and both times have been great. I always get the gran california burrito, which has french fries in it along with rice and beans, meat, guac, sour cream… I think I’m missing something but it’s really good! The orange sauce that they have is really good. I love the décor here. It’s really interesting looking at all of the pictures and everything. They always have the tv’s(yes, plural, they have a million of them) on which are usually playing soccer. The only problem is that the volume on is extremely loud! I could probably ask them to turn it down but why ruin their fun? The guy at the counter ran over to us and brought us a bunch of salsa and napkins which was really kind because we didn’t ask and we could’ve done it ourselves. Love the fun atmosphere here and the food is delicious!

Some friends wanted to watch the Barcelona-Athletic de Madrid soccer match… and that is not easy in San Jose and surroundings, considering that many places won’t open on a Sunday morning at 10 am… guess what? Muchos! Taqueria does:) Thanks Unilocal… I did a quick search here to find places where we can meet, great, have breakfast and fun, and this was the most welcoming one. The owner is a cool Argentinian who used to work in radio(listen to that voice:) and is also a soccer fan, so he of course could not miss«God Messi» and we virtually had the restaurant for a few of us. We mostly had coffees and quesadillas, but surely we will come back as the service was great, the place is super pretty(very Mexican colored-tiles and walls) and you can actually watch soccer without any issue, even if you don’t end up consuming anything, you will be welcomed at Muchos.

I’ve been coming to Muchos for almost a decade. I moved to the area around 8 years back and this was one of the few spots open late for munching after music events and general downtown shenanigans. I always liked the straight forward menu items and friendly service. Often times, you come here to wind down after drinking or walking and these guys take care of you. Tasty taqueria fare served up in a nice portion, fast and with a good price. This place should be on the short list for all y’alls’ to come check out when you want some something fast filling and hella tasty. Get the: + Carne Asada Burritos + Quesadillas + the«El Gigante» when you need that burrito to end your night This place rocks, look for Chris during the night shift — he’ll take care of you!

Don’t you just love when you discover new places in your own back yard? :) A friend of mine brought me here after work and it was my first time. I got Fish Tacos, a Chicken Tamale, and some non-alcoholic Sangria which basically tasted like a fruity soda. That’s NOT what Sangria is supposed to taste like… I didn’t realize until after I placed my order, that they also make blended Margaritas. Will probably try those next time and skip the so-called«Sangria.» The fish tacos were AMAZING and made with fresh fish(Tilapia, I think it was?) They were nice enough to put some red sauce over my tamale if you ask them to. Overall, fresh authentic food at great prices. Got a complete meal for about $ 10. Love the bold, vibrant colors around the place as well. Wouldn’t mind coming back whenever I walk around the Downtown area again. Nice cashier, too. :)

It was our first time here with me and my girl and we will be coming back when ever we’re in the area! Mary Lu was the nice lil lady behind the counter. I had told her we’re out of towners and was thankful Muchos! Taqueria was open on Sundays. I ordered the California Burrito and my girl had the Carnitas. She said this was the best carnitas she’s had in a really long time! I had to take a bite off her plate and I also agree! So much flavor and cooked with a lot of heart. My burrito was so bomb! Fries in my burrito and i think pork rinds and guac yum! Mary Lu was very helpful, she recommended her favorite sauce to go with my burrito. She even offered to wrap my burrito to go, she read my mind! Very thoughful, kind, and pride in her shop. Great atmosphere to eat, clean restrooms, friendly staff, and the prices are great. A must visit for authentic Mexican food fosho! I wish we had a Muchos! Taqueria in my hometown. Keep it up Mary Lu and the team. Your food and customer service is great!

Muchos Muchos! One of my favorite Taquerias! This last time I went was one of a few times I was there sober! Late at night, you may be standing in the street, waiting in line just like all of the other boracho’s! Muchos is the go to spot late at night!!! What to order… Tacos! Al Pastore is my favorite here! Carne Asada, Chorizo with a Quesadillia or have that in your quesadilla. Just keep it simple! Tacos. Yum! I’m getting hungry writing this! Hot Sauce & Fresh Salsa. There is plenty of it! Beer and other spiritual beverages to keep you going! Draft and bottle beer and spirits too! I like to have a Coca-Cola when ever I’m here. Nothing like a Coke that is Made in Mexico! They use cane sugar if you didn’t know.
