Love their fresh baked bread, 3 for $ 1 is such a great deal! There banh mi’s are good, too. Overall, they’re really good! I usually try to come here really early so that I don’t have to deal with the line cutters, but they’ve also gotten better with helping out who came first rather than the people who just walk up when they see a line.

I started coming here many, many years ago. We used to pick up banh mi(buy 2, get 1 free) for lunch during the weeks and my mom and I would fawn over all of the different Vietnamese desserts. It’s been several years since I’ve visited this wonderful place, but decided on a whim to come here because my friend and I were looking for some delicious che. Perhaps it was because it was later in the day, but the selection seemed to be less than my memory of long ago, but the quality of the food, both, met and exceeded my memories of how good it all is. It’s a shame I’m not around east side San Jose that often anymore, but I’m sure I’ll never stop coming here, even if it is a little while in between visits.

Came in at around 7:40pm with a friend to buy 21 frozen banh bao! My friend’s family comes to this place specifically to buy their banh Bao for family events and what not. That’s commitment. It was pretty dark and empty because they were going to close in an hour ish. The two ladies who work there were super friendly! My friend wanted to buy 21, and the lady in the back was like«why not get 24??? Buy the whole rack for only $ 2 more!!» She gave us quite a hook up and we were ecstatic. I guess it helps if you’re young adults and speak fluent Vietnamese. Reasons why my friend’s family keeps coming back for more!

$ 2.75 for banh mi served on thin baguettes. On par with most sandwich spots. BBQ pork is a hitter as usual. Bias because I’m from SF where Vietnamese food is subpar compared to SJ or oak. And also cuz it’s right next to our facility. Good news is they open super early to grab for a lunch.

Literally the best egg rolls I’ve tasted! Not 5 stars because of the staff and it’s cash only.

The bread tastes so good. Variety of fillings. I recommend number 16. Definitely value for money. Buy 2 get 1 free(for the roundish bread selections. I’ll visit again to try other fillings. And the bread is really nice.

Sandwiches and food is very moderately priced. I like most of them freshly baked breads. Service not so excellent and what else can you expect from non-English speaking Asians. Lol. For some great inexpensive snacks a must try place. Some of their delicacies include special desserts :) must try :)

Was craving for Vietnamese sandwich. But most places that I like close at 8pm. This one was open till 9pm. I always get grilled pork. This one was not good at all. I like my bread toasted. And I also like my meat grilled with peanuts in my grilled pork sandwich. It wasn’t what I wanted. After today I lost my appetite for Vietnamese sandwich. I also didn’t like how the lady dealt with food and money. It doesn’t seem like they wash their hands. Don’t trust these places.

Best bang for your buck. We wanted to pick up some lunch before the game. We saw this place offered buy 2 get one banh mi free. It’s also buy 2 get one free for the pâté chaud. The wait is a bit long for your food, but the banh mi is good enough for the wait. My husband does not like harder baguettes. This one is crunchy on the outside, super soft on the inside. So good. The meat filing is a bit sparse, but it’s fine for $ 2. They are willing to put pâté in other banh mi’s if they don’t already come with it. Good service. Very nice unlike many other places. The café su da is good too. $ 2.50 is ok. Wished it was larger or at least buy 2 get one free as well. Definitely will be back.

If I could give this place 3.5 stars I would! In comparison to my other favorite banh mi places, I can’t bump it up to 4, but for the price and banh mi satisfaction, I’d say it’s better than average. Anywho, I used to be a big regular of the Saigon Bakery on Tully before it closed down :[ However, I can still come here and get the same awesome buy 2 sandwiches get 1 free deal!!! Lez do the math here, each individual banh mi is $ 3 each, if you buy 2 for a total of $ 6, with the 3rd one being freee, it’ll be $ 2PERBANHMI! At such a steal like that what one individual wouldn’t buy 3 sandwiches for themselves… that’s normal right? HOWEVER, I feel that when you do get the buy 2 get 1 free deal, they have smaller loaves, less meat, and no pâté and het cheese(that Viet mayo). Do I have to request it? I always ask for veggies separate so that they would give you a bit more. But their veggies are just the basic daikon, carrot, and cilantro. No cucumbers and possibly no onion. But I will say even with the skimpy vegetables and spreads, the basics of the banh mi is still there and for $ 2 it still tastes delicious and satisfying to me! Maybe one day I will try buying just the ONE banh mi and see if there are differences in preparation. TL;DR — Buy 2 get 1 free banh mi deal! aka $ 2 banh mi, skimpy/small but still delish.

The banh mi here is really good! Definitely better than Lee’s Sandwiches. They both sell similar bakeries, but the sandwiches are better here.

Came by for a light lunch the other day and parking was plentiful in the private lot. This sandwich shop is cash only and the staff speaks fluent English. …a lot of the snacks on the counter were not priced… Sandwiches & Pâté Chauds were Buy 2 get 1 free. Fresh Rolls — Rice paper was slightly dry — Inside had tons of lettuce… also slightly dry. — Shrimps were decent… but I think it was missing a slice of pork? Pâté Chaud was decent but wasn’t hot… Egg roll was a pass… didn’t taste fresh.

Buy 2, get one free?! Awesome deal! Parking is almost always available in front of their store but getting here can be a toughy if you come on the weekends. Saigon Bakery is located right next to Maxim Market adjacent to Grand Century Mall. Right off the freeway so it’s easily accessible in that sense. What’s not so awesome is that they totally skimp on meat! Yes, their bread is super fresh as it is made daily but come on, where’s my meat?! I ordered 3 grilled pork sandwiches and the meat was reddish. We were pretty stunned because it’s usually brown! It also tasted more like xa xiu instead. Unusually sweet. Another miss for me was that the pickled veggies were not so pickled. The flavors were pretty weak/bland. Though I was the only customer in the store, the lady helping me seemed not to have been paying attention to my order. I asked for 3 grilled pork sandwiches with the veggies on the side. I received 2 correctly made &1 with veggies inside already. Hmmm… For $ 2 each, it’s not a bad deal. I was just hoping for more. With so many other sandwich places in the vicinity, I think I will continue to take my business elsewhere. Good try but it’s a no go in my book.

Buy two get one free of the smaller round-bun banh mi. These run out so get there early! A water bottle is $ 1. Their #15 banh mi(meats combination) is one of the best ever. I can tell because I was not even hungry and finished it. And, at $ 2.50 it is quite a deal! The place is pretty clean and people were friendly. Note I stopped by around 7pm and saw the display cases mostly empty, so unsure if they ran out of items. The fridge was well stocked with drinks though.

When my boyfriend first introduced me to this place, I fell in love instantly. Their delicious Vietnamese sandwiches here are super cheap and it’s buy two get one free. Who doesn’t love that?! I like that they offer two different kinds of bread to make their delicious Banh Mi’s! Their bread is sooo soft and fluffy, and it doesn’t feel like you’re cutting your gums when you take your first bite. The BBQ Pork(Thit Nuong) is my absolute favorite here. The pork is marinated very nicely and the vietnamese butter is so amazing with the sandwich. It’s a great finishing touch. I’ve been preferring this place over Huong Lan lately. The bread is a lot softer and I can’t get enough of their BBQ Pork here. Cash only, like every other place!

Fresh hot baguettes — delicious! They bake fresh, hot and delicious french and Vietnamese baguettes all day long. The best time to come here is around 12noon and 4PM daily. They are also famous for their Ban Mih Vietnamese sandwiches and they have several locations throughout San Jose and in Orange County down in Southern California. If you are looking to buy fresh baguettes this is the place! They have them available in several sizes! If you are in the mood for the best Ban Mih Vietnamese sandwich — I recommend trying out«Phat Tri» first which is only a few blocks away. They have excellent Pâté spread! Cheers!

So I only came here as a friend had mentioned the Buy 2 Get one 1 free deal here. Since I was buying 18 sandwiches, this would save me a good amount of cash. Convenient location, in an Asian plaza right off of 280. The guy in front of me bought a grilled pork baguette. I asked him if it was like BBQ pork, as I did not see it on the menu, and he said yes and that it was delicious. Great! So I give her my order of 9 chicken baguettes(the long skinny bread) at $ 2.50, but she pointed to the hamburger bun sized photos and said those were buy 2 get one free, buy those. Darn, I wished it was the baguette style, but that’s the deal I had come for, so I ordered 9 of those. And 9 of the grilled pork, but one with pâté for myself. I re-emphasized my order, and asked for all of them to be cut in half since they’re a bit hard to eat(had it before) since the bread is so huge. I waited to pay, but I guess I was not to pay until they had my order ready. A lady came out from the back and went over the order with me again. They make it in the back, so I couldn’t see if everything was right, and they asked me something that I couldn’t understand, and she finally showed me the pickled daikons and carrots and I said yes, assuming she was asking if I wanted those inside. She brought out the sandwiches and sliced them up for me. I was hoping they would distinguish the chicken and pork, but she showed me that she was using blue rubber bands for chicken, red for pork. Sweet. When I ate my pork with pâté, it was good, but the pork was oily, kind of a weird substance, but I still ate it up. It was not my favorite BBQ pork vietnamese sandwich though. The bread was good and didn’t tear up the roof of my mouth. If you’re buying a bunch of sandwiches for cheap, or just want some bread, as I saw a lot of customers picking up, this is the place to go to. But, I’ve definitley had better. CASHONLY.
