Chipotle style Mediterranean food. What is there not to love? I got the Shawarma and Falafel rice bowl. The portion sizes here are huge, but after working out heavily I was able to scarf down the entire portion plus the complimentary soup. They also have complimentary chai tea which was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend coming here if you are in the area.

Another Chipotle style restaurant — Mediterranean style with the option of wrap, salad, pita, or bowl. It’s clean, quick, and good for what you pay(wraps are like $ 6.50 for the falafel one). The portions here are BIG… I’ve always had a hard time finishing my wrap that I end up taking the other half as leftover. I recommend their steak and falafels — not a hug fan of the chicken since on the occasions I get it, it’s pretty dry(though it is flavorful). Normally when I come here it’s for the falafels. Today was National Falafel Day and they were offering 50% off any falafel meals — score! Ended up ordering a falafel wrap with onions, tomato, cucumber, cauliflower argula, eggplant, garlic sauce, and tzatziki sauce. Very hearty and filling despite no meat. The falafels here are savory and tasty — they’re good on their own, and with all the other stuff it creates flavor harmony. I’m always impressed with how well the wraps hold together — they don’t fall apart easily into a giant mess. Packaging is pretty strong too between the bowls and the wraps that it makes easy to-go without the mess. Every meal comes with an optional bowl of lentil soup — I know it sounds gross(and the color isn’t super appealing) but it’s actually quite good. It has this savory taste and the texture reminds me of pea soup. Besides, it’s good for you… might as well eat it! They also sell some special drinks for $ 3 in a large cup — options include tamarind juice, mint yogurt, and mint lemonade. I’ve had the mint yogurt before… I don’t recommend this for people looking for something sweet and as thirst quencher, and to be honest it’s not for me as it was too thick. The mint lemonade was a perfect choice for this hot weather(tamarind juice wasn’t available today) and you can really taste the mint. They also let me combine the offer with the Unilocal check-in for free pita chips. The pita chips are fried with some special seasoning — pretty good though a bit oily. In the end, my meal cost me $ 6.50 for a falafel wrap w/lentil soup, mint lemonade, and pita chips after discounts. Not bad in my book, but I would’ve happily paid the $ 10 for the meal as well. They accept online orders as well — the place gets busy during weekday lunch due to all the tech offices nearby(not all of us get free food from our company), so I’d recommend putting in an online order to skip the line. They have a special where you can get a family meal for $ 29.99 from 3 – 8 pm. It comes with pita bread, rice, salad, sauces, hummus, and their grilled chicken, but you can sub it for cauliflower, eggplant or steak($ 5 extra for the steak). Will have to try it with my roommates some day, but this is awesome for busy parents in Silicon Valley. Be sure to sign up for their mailing list, especially if you live nearby. They often send out emails for specials they have, like 50% off a meal, etc. That’s how I found out about their offer for National Falafel Day.

[I started from the Sajj food truck. The best tasting food, in real food quantities, not the $$$ teasers that you get from most trucks.] Now this Sajj restaurant is my favorite place in this area. Period. Any day, lunch or dinner. Very tasty food. Pick and choose like a chipotle line. For wrap get a chicken shawafel and for bowl get the steak — you can’t go wrong.

Yummy food! Tasty Customer Service! Definitely an easy lunch or dinner spot that my husband and I will be coming back to. They are generous with the servings and the price is just right! They have so many different toppings to pick from that you can eat at this place back to back and not get bored of your meal. By the way, Ingry served us and her friendly and personable demeanor is just what places like this need!

I tried Falafel with salad/rice bowl. I like quantity and quality too. But I had falafel and had stomach upset! I thought it was just me but next day my husband tried it and faced the same experience: O. But I enjoy the salad and rice with the sauces. The French fries are tasty and the free sauces(red and green sauce– guess it’s tomatoes chillies onion and min is the other sauce) are great with them! I like the tzaziki sauce than humus or garlic sauce. They taste bland and not very tasty indeed! I am not a non vegetarian so I have no complaints or compliments really for the non veggie selection. Hey I like the lemonade too . But I won’t try the falafel again.

Total Mediterranean chipotle… down to the process and options. But very good. Similarly you can end up with a huge bowl/pita and end up stuffed. Good options and condiments to add on. You move through the line pretty fast.

I went there yeaterday. Got two rice bowls — one with falafel and the other with pomegranate chicken. Chicken tasted kind of bitter without any taste. Only giving 2 stars because my wife really liked her falafel rice bowl.

I forgot about this place! I’ve been here quite a few times but this is my first time in a while, as I never come to this part of town. Well, the reviews are pretty spot-on. Yes, it’s like a Mediterranean Chipotle. Average price for a meal is like $ 10, which isn’t bad considering the portions are huge! I eat my bowl over two meals. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had here. I usually get the steak or pomegranate chicken. As far as proteins, they have good options but I wish they had a cubed chicken option. Oh well. In the bowl I get rice… or salad(spring mix and arugula) if I don’t want a shit ton of carbs. I love all the veggies you can add!!! They are all included in the price and they have a good selection! I love the eggplant! I kinda want that to make up half my bowl, but I don’t wanna be greedy :/. They also have pickles, peppers, cabbage, and a bunch of other stuff. Hummus is no extra charge which is nice because similar places do charge extra for it. I also love the red and green sauce bottles by the napkins! Those are the only sauces I add. * a lot of people hate on the free soup but I actually like it for some reason! Check it out… It is free so you have nothing to lose, lol. As far as the service, it’s never been anything exceptional. Then again, I usually just grab my food to-go and get out, so it’s no big deal. I recommend this place!

First of, let’s talk about the place. Very nice and clean. Unlike other halal places, sajj reminds me of chipole when i order my food. The food is alright. Not much suprprises in the sharwama. My husband and I read the reviews on here thinking this place could be added on to our list of Mediterranean stops but not this one. BUT the food is not the reason why I jump on Unilocal so eager to write this review for sajj. I never taake picture of employee anywhere to post on a review but i think this time i have to because this place has such good review so maybe it just wasn’t my day. I was gonna get something here as well to try out but the girl who’s helping us out KILLED my appertize. There was no smile, no hello, we could barely hear her when she talks really fast as if she was trying to get rid of us. Yes there was line and she was the only one but«honey» at least do the best you can if no one else is helping you. Anyway, the first impression is everything and mine at Sajj is just not so pleasant.

I don’t know how I didn’t review Sajj sooner. Maybe because I’ve been too busy stuffing my face with their food? Every time I’ve come to this location, the portions large enough that the contents are pressing up against the lid. On average, I get about a meal and a half out of the bowls, which are larger than my face(granted, I have a small mug). I’ve only had the chicken and beef schwarma but they’re good enough that I have little interest in trying their other proteins, but I probably will. You get to pick your base of several carbs or salad. They have plenty of sauces and toppings, though I suggest you get the sauces on the side if you’re going to get them all – all of them together can be kind of overwhelming. Of all of them, the spicy tahini and the garlic sauce are the best! You’ll thank me later.

I wanted some Mediterranean ish food… like chicken kabobs… guess I overlooked the photos. This place reminds me of Falafel guys in NY. I got the rice bowl with that yummy yellow rice and added some chicken(shredded like) with all the veggie toppings and that white sauce. I would opt for NO eggplant because it is quite oily and it messes with the flavor of the bowl. Also would opt out of the grilled onions. I checked in for free pita chips but they ran out so I was sad. I like the mix of rice, chicken, hummus and that white sauce and that is probably all I need.

As you may see in my original review, they sent me a one dish gift card so I’m giving this a second try . Visited at night this time after glossary shopping in target next door. It was a quiet night and no one was waiting. Took them sometime to deal with the giftcard but overall got my order quite smooth this time. I hope my unpleasant experience last time is only exceptional. Will be visiting again during lunch rush hour and see

The boyfriend recently moved within walking distance of SAJJ and the rest of the food in this plaza, and I’m pretty stoked about it! As others have said, it’s a Chipotle-style restaurant where you can customize your food down an assembly line. The workers explain the choices as you move along, which could potentially get stressful during busy hours if you’ve never been here before. However, I appreciated that they were GENEROUS with their scoops(unlike their stingier neighbors across the parking lot, ahem, Chipotle). I chose to do the Chicken Shawarma in a rice bowl and had NOREGRETS. Holy portions, Batman. I’ll admit I got a little overzealous while ordering add-ons & sauce(hummus AND tzatziki AND garlic sauce? SUREWHYNOT), so all of the flavors eventually melded into a saucy controlled-chaos-in-a-bowl. If you’re not privy to big flavor, go easy on the sauces! Luckily, I loooove saucey things and modifying my food, so SAJJ was right up my alley. I also appreciated that the restaurant felt very clean, and the food came with a cup of soup fo’ free! Big portions + reasonable prices(~$ 9 for a bowl) + clean atmosphere + within walking distance = SEEYOUAGAINSOON, SAJJ.

Was excited to finally try this place out, and ideally, it is 3.5 stars, but knocking it down to 3. Came on a weekday at an off peak dinner hour, and it was completely empty. The worker was a bit rude as I was new and did not see the clear labels of what was what. She seemed annoyed with me as I asked what a few things were as she plopped them onto my bowl. I went with a rice bowl with falafels with an array of fixings. With the Unilocal check in offer, I also got a side of pita chips for free. Prices are very reasonable for the enormous amount of food you get. I could barely put a dent on it and couldn’t even finish it as a meal for leftovers. The pita chips… absolutely disgusting unless if you like eating pure oil. How do they even serve these things? The lentil soup was okay, but not hot at all, lukewarm at most. The falafels were incredibly dry, probably from sitting out there for hours. I would make a suggestion as maybe they can do a quick deep fry on them as they’re adding other toppings to a customer’s dish. The stars of this place were the eggplant and cauliflower topping in my opinion. It was really tasty and wish I had more. The rice, arugula, and pickled onions were great too. Hummus and tahini, not so much. I do like the fact that they have the chinese hot sauce and cilantro chutney as side sauces which gave it some heat.

I had the falafel bowl. It was very delicious! I think this place is a very good idea, with the mediterranean chipotle thing going on. The falafel is kind of salty and absorbs all the tangyness of the rest of the sauces due to its breadiness, so next time I will try to eat my falafels before enjoying the rest of the rice and sauces. The portion is also very nice!!! I think one bowl is two meals. I saved half of my bowl for the following day’s lunch! also I really like that they have FREESOUP!!! My BF said no to his free soup which I found upsetting because he could have given it to me … There were some communication issues with the cashier/food lady while entering my order into the computer since I think her English was not that good. I also asked for a lid for my bowl later in the night and she did not understand me and another worker had to translate for her in Spanish. At this point, I think she was cleaning up since it was pretty late and she did not change her gloves and my lid ended up being dirtied by her glove which was kind of uncool.

Inside a large shopping area, this is order@counter type of fast food place. While it offers mostly Mediterranean improvisations — the selection is a bit limited. Ordered veggie pita wrap with falafel and my fellow diner ordered the same in the bowl. The meal was served with lentil soup on the side. You can customize a lot and behind-the-counter staff were friendly and we’re having fun explaining all the options. The servings are big — bring a big appetite or don’t over order. The place is big but was not very crowded when we went for dinner. It’s a fast food type place so don’t expect very fresh falafel all the time.

Dare I say it … I prefer SAJJ over Chipotle! You get more topping choices and the quality of the meat is higher and less oily(in my opinion). The pomegranate chicken is my favorite, though the chicken shawarma and falafel are pretty good too. They’re all good: D and the serving sizes are deceivingly big. All orders come with a small bowl of lentil soup and a couple pita chips. Check in on Unilocal for a free small bag of house-made pita chips ;) This location has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Wasn’t too big of a fan the first time I came. However this place slowly grows on you. It is a «Chipotle» «Subway» «Blaze Pizza» type — build your own bowl type place. Shawarmas is what the do. Get that in a pita or a bowl. The beef and chicken is good. Plenty of sides to put into the bowl. Feta cheese is a dollar extra. Overall: the bowl was tasty and filling. Will return for lunch.
