If you want to be ignored and your drinks take forever (tea) then this is the place for you. I’m really disappointed I used to like this place when it was just up and coming.

This one of the finest hookah lounges in San Jose, and the service here is second to none. If you want to come to a hookah place and enjoy a smoking session to the fullest, then come down to Tangerine. I have been to many lounges and the service here is simply the best. The only thing that is negative is the comfort of the seats, im a type of person where if I can’t sleep on it — it’s not comfortable enough, however it’s enough for you to enjoy the hookah session. Will return regularly

I have been to many hookah places and most of the time the shisha and customer service is just average. This hookah place is different. Their hookah is on point and the customer service is outstanding! I will be coming back for sure ;)

These people are awesome. Quick, attentive service and they regularly come by to check on your hookah to see if it needs a coal change. Eddy was super friendly and sat down to talk to me and my boyfriend, then packed us the best bowl ever. Their atmosphere is dope, they have low blue/​green lights, cute little couches and a playlist that’s perfect for the place. I usually prefer going early, from 4 – 7 on the weekdays to take advantage of their happy hour, which is $ 13 a hookah! Can’t beat the prices, and about every single employee is so nice, they make you feel like they’ve been your friend forever lol will definitely come back!

Great ambience and incredibly friendly staff. Wish I got the gentlemans name (beard and hipster bun) who helped set a first timer up, he knows his stuff and really cared about his customers experience. Walked out buzzed and happy

Our waitress was very nice, good hookah flavors, good smoothies and it’s a quiet spot for friends reunion. The only thing which still grosses me out is they definitely don’t maintain the restroom much, we found a huge cockroach and the other guy who came in with his Gf had to kill it so we can all use the restroom…

Sometimes you need to get out of your netflix and chill mode… and channel your inner hookah and chill. Well, this is the place to be!
The staff is extremely friendly – Jessie and Dannyboi remember you, your preferences, and this catered service really just takes your whole experience to the 4D level. There is a great selection of flavors to choose from and mix n match – from minty to mellow to sweet tooth… they got it here. Sex on the beach, mint and pink is probably one of the combinations that make the top for me and my group. This was even actually specially customized for us by Jessie after we described what we wanted.
Great vibes, upbeat music, decent $$, friendly staff – it brings me back again and again.

Came here for something different on a Thursday night with my boyfriend. Not difficult get too there is some parking in front of it. There is a bright orange sign that says tangerine and hookah so its pf surly easy to spot. There is an employee that checks you’re ID when you get in an you are free to sit wherever you want. The décor is the best part definitely 4 stars however I found the seats very cool looking but somewhat uncomfortable. There is also a projector that plays music videos and the volume was super low I asked employees to turn up the volume but it was still super low I could barely hear the music. The hookah flavor that I got was watermelon and I added ice to it with totaled to about $ 25 which was pretty good. However no matter how much it was maintained and cleaned the hookah was hitting pretty harsh. They do not serve alcohol but they have some drinks (water smoothies soda) and some snacks but no food or alcohol. I definitely like the ambiance and price of smoking but not too much else.

Let’s face it, you can hookah anywhere. You go here for the ambience of colorfully lit balls and hookah sets that light up the room, changing colors every few seconds or so. The service here is also on point, each one of the staff being extremely nice. Music is extremely loud… so you’ll just have to be louder if you want to have a conversation. It can get a little pricey and horrendously packed (I’ve shamelessly and willingly spent late nights waiting more than an hour). Go here for happy hour! Oh and if you have trouble deciding what you want, ask the manager for his recommendations! My favorite ones I’ve had I sadly do not know what they were because the manager would just mix some things up and not tell me because it was a secret, which was fine by me because that means I would just bother him again each time. I want to say it was something peachy with a faint citrus feel. Welp, I guess that means I have to go back to figure out what it was!

Tangerine is a dope ass hookah lounge with many flavors to choose from. They also serve drinks with a lively atmosphere. The customer service is on lock as well. I’m new to hookah and Danny really helped me through the process of choosing the flavors.

The staff is friendly and greets you when you come in. They let you choose/​smell flavors from a sample trade. Lots of interesting ones! The place isn’t very big and you might have to get cozy with another group to share a space. If you don’t like that, you should go to Swinging Hookah because you get your own couch and space. If you like to meet new people, you should go here.
Staff checked up on us often and changed our coals. We tried the new flavor «honeydew» (smells like those Asian melon bubblegum balls), but it didn’t last very long. They changed our flavor for free because they didn’t taste how long the new flavor lasted. Great customer service! :)

Not a huge fan of this place. Seemed a little drab, and the quality of our hookah didn’t seem that great… Definitely have had better ones, at pretty much every other hookah bar I’ve ever been to.
The best thing they did was bring over a tray with all the flavors of hookah they serve… I did like that part because at least you got to smell them before buying.

At first I didn’t think this was going to live up to it’s hype from what I heard from people and from the limited pics I saw online. As I warmed up with my bro, I started to feel myself a lot and get settled within the mood.
Here’s how the process works. First you are greeted by the friendly staff and seated by your choice. Next you are given a large wooden tray of about 20+ flavors inside clear-​round containers with it’s label. My bro and I started to sniff each scent and choose what we wanted. I stuck with their tang and my bro chose his pomegranate. Both had fresh citrus scents and a smooth fruity taste.
For $ 21 we received each a medium sized hookah stand that is clean and carefully maintained. Justin, our server, did an excellent job catering to our every needs. He answered our questions and was efficient with bringing my Turkish coffee and changing the charcoals. He was kind and friendly and immediately became a part of my tremendous experience here at Tangerine. Which btw, Justin made my Turkish style coffee with time and it tasted great like it’s suppose to.
Our next order was their fresh fruit selection in which we smoked through a watermelon that was nicely stabbed through the tip of the hookah stand. This carried about eight hot charcoals. I think everyone should experience this! Fresh fruit hookahs provide a cleaner smoke, deeper flavors, provides ton of smoke during exhalation, and most importantly it provides longer time. To me, I got an easier inhalation and much cleaner taste. The flavor is pronounced much more along with the fresh fruit blended itself inside. This goes for $ 35
As we were smoking, we were dancing and having a good time listening to the music videos being played on the screen and people watching. This is a great place for groups and going during late nights. The neon lights, music, crowds, smell of different hookah scents, create a good vibe.
A special shout out to Justin for working hard at making my experience great. Eddie also did an excellent job checking up on guests and doing what he had to do behind the counters. The team here is efficient and welcoming. There is no hostility whatsoever here. Guests have a comfortable vibe here and I can tell this place is busting with regulars. Prices aren’t bad and they carry a good amount of drinks. Music from the screen can be much better but other than that, it’s great! Once again, Thanks Justin and Eddie!

Wow, what a nice find. You can enjoy hookah here in many flavors with a coffee, juice or something non-​alcoholic. I enjoyed my warm Morroccan Mint tea– something to iron out the Acacia pino noir I had earlier.
It was a nice way to sober up and wind down after boozing it up and laughing my ass off at the Improv. The space is darkly lit like a swanky, chic modern lounge– adorned with white seating, blue lighting and some cool video projections on the wall paired with hip house beats.
The staff here is quite accommodating and friendly too– always conducive to a great time. The only thing is the one unisex bathroom for the whole space. Sometimes nature calls simultaneously.
It’s not that big of a deal. I’d totally come back here next time I visit downtown San Jose again. Amazingly enough, the people hanging out in here are not reeking of the «douchebaggery» that seems to plague the other night spots. Tangerine Hookah, stay classy.

Shout out to Eddie, Justin, and Alex A.K.A. Hung Low. Great service and attitudes. It was our first time in California. Nicest people we’ve met with great choice of flavors and location. Nice environment and what’s better than a spot to chill with a clean, greats prices and nice atmosphere and make new friends.
We’ll be watching your videos Hung Low and definitely come back whenever we back in town.

Nice! Quick service and friendly staff that come over occasionally to turn the coals for you. I liked the fact that the base of the hookah lit up and turned different colors. The price point wasn’t bad at all, and turned out to be about $ 9 per person for two people. A very unique and lively place!

The service is really good. We were greeted by smiling staff. He ran us through the assortment of flavors. I was initially amazed looking at the options. But it had some strange names and really didnt resonate with regular hookah flavor names.
The place gets jam packed and a spacious interior would have helped.

Great lounge. Sells large variety. Great customer service from Jessie, showed us how to get everything just right and showed us tons of flavors before we picked one.

I was looking at the reviews trying to see when happy hour was but couldn’t find any; so for those who wanted to know, here ya go!
Came here for the first time last night with my boyfriend & for a Saturday night it didn’t get crowded until around 11:30pm, so come early especially if you’re going with a big group. This hookah lounge is actually pretty small compared to some that I have been to, they have nice looking white block couches however they aren’t the comfiest couches.
Service was a bit slow at first, it took a while for the guy to get to us but he kept spilling for the long wait, he was super friendly so the wait didn’t bother me as much. Any-​who, he asked if it was our first time there & since it was he explained to us that we could sniff all the flavors & he’d come back after to check on us to see which we’d like.
Honey & I decided to mix two flavors which was the g6 & pornstar. Not a bad combination at all. With a mix flavor & one black iced tea it came out to about $ 25 I believe? Honey paid for it & I wasn’t really paying attention but I’m sure it was around that price.
Overall for a hookah spot downtown it wasn’t that bad. I would definitely come back.
