They have coffee, bagels, donuts, sandwiches, drinks. Pretty basic with the essentials. On SJSU campus.

Best white mocha I’ve ever had! And the blueberry muffins are very good too. This is coming from someone who doesn’t really like Starbucks or Peets coffee. (Just noticed I may be too generous with my 5 star reviews lol) Oh well! It was great coffee this morning.

The service is very slow, the drinks are very poorly made, and they very often make a lot of mistakes. I don’t like to be harsh, but I must be honest. I was very disappointed and regret spending money here. My soy late tasted really weird, when I asked for some foam(since there was absolutely none on my latte) the barista spooned some regular milk foam in… I got hot chocolate here once too and after I left and took a sip I realized it was missing the chocolate so it was just steamed milk. Sooooo not the best place to go for decent service/drinks/anything.

I waited at Tully’s for about 15 minutes while they paged for someone named Jessica to come help me out. Finally I give up and start walking away, when she decides it’s time to show up. She unhappily pours my small cup of coffee, does not apologize for possibly keeping me waiting, and the whole experience was pretty poor. The coffee was okay, hence the 2*.

I would give this place a zero for service if I could. The thing about living in a market economy is that I have choice. Today, I chose Tully’s over two other nearby coffee shops. The problem? At 8:30am on a weekday in a high traffic commute area, the barista had not prepared, and did not have any coffee made or even brewing. Mind you, it was not busy, there was no rush. Now I know why: those who know choose the other coffee shops. Ms. Barista, I had your job once, for many moons. Get it together. As for me, I’ll let my money talk across the street.

I was at the check out line, when I saw a promotion sign: 2 $ Grande and 3 $ for Venti! It’s too good to be true, I had to see for myself. So I made a beeline to the café right after the check out line. I asked the person over the counter for more info, and I don’t remember what she said But. all I heard was latte, and my heart jump for joy. I got my favorite drink the Green tea Matcha in Venti size of course! Go big or don’t buy? Anyways I’m not a coffee person, and haven’t tried their coffee therefore i can’t give this place 5 stars. But that latte was one of the best Green tea Matcha I ever had, better than Starbucks! Customer service was good and friendly!

Tully’s is a cool coffee shop. This location is cool and the library two blocks down has one as well. The coffee is extremely STRONG for my taste but I don’t drink coffee daily since 2008, only occassionally. With cream and hazelnut it was delish. The coffee is priced fairly for the sizes as well. I haven’t tried any of the pastries or food but it’s a good choice for a coffee stop.

It was a windy afternoon when the sun wasn’t even out and I decided to check out this new Safeway that just opened near the campus of SJSU and i found out that there was a Tully’s inside(so i can hopefully use my tully’s gift card) but unfortunately because they are a part of Safeway, I couldn’t use it. So I approached the mini-stand with just one girl working and it seemed like she didnt want to greet me even though i was standing there for a few minutes trying to figure out what I wanted to order. So i said«excuse me, can i get an americano» and finally she said oh hey sure. I know it must be boring to work by yourself, but I was there for a bit. afterwards, she did give me a hefty amount of soy that i wanted. thanks but i’ll just stick to the tully’s downstairs from the SJSU king library.

I come here when I am craving for a hot apple cider on a cold day and am too lazy to walk across to Starbuck’s, which lately has been about 2 – 3 times a week, given the weather. It’s super convenient, but is very hit and miss depending on who’s behind the counter. My first time here, when I ordered the spiced cider, the woman had to look up at the board, then go through their secret stash of recipes to figure out how to make it for me. Not a good sign, but I figured, ok, I’m here, might as well. My second time was much better. This time, the woman behind the counter even told me that with my Safeway card, I can collect points and for every 8th drink I buy, I’ll get the 9th free. Every time I’ve had the drinks ever since, they’ve tasted the same, so they must be getting the recipe right, but it’s just not like Starbuck’s spiced cider. The ginger is too syrupy. I was expecting more of a bite. I recently went back to Starbuck’s for the caramel apple spiced cider and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the same size equivalent was actually cheaper at Starbuck’s! Well, there’s a first. AND they put caramel in it. YUM. In all, if you’re there at the Market, it’s good for a quick fix. There’s seating, free Wi-fi and plenty of food from the Market. If you’ve got time, Starbuck’s is just across the light rail tracks…

I buy coffee here every morning on my way to work, and I like this place. Well, it’s definitely not a REAL coffee house to spend hours in, though they are very good for quick caffeine fix. People there are very nice. I like Christie and Sylvia — they always greeting me by name and even remember my choice — tall non-fat latte three shots. =) It is funny, but I remember that morning Nam N. wrote about in the previous review =). And it was only once in my half-a-year experience.

I needed a quick caffeine fix on the way out of The Market this morning. The grocery line was SUPER long(all that last minute Turkey Day shopping) so I was relieved to see the line over at Tully’s was short. I walked up to the counter to place my order, and although the staff member saw me as she was at the espresso machine, she made no attempt to acknowledge me or say«hello». Bummer… maybe she needed some coffee. After a few minutes she came to take my order and as I took out my money to pay, she informed me that their registers were down and I would need to pay at The Market registers(note back to the aforementioned SUPER long lines comment). I was going to pass on the whole situation but then I started getting that whole caffeine-deprivation-twitch that we coffee fiends get — and it’s NOT pretty! I braved the lines and 10 minutes later I walked out with my drip coffee in hand. One sip into it – BLAAAHHH!!! Burnt coffee! Eeww!!! Tully’s in The Market, you are no bueno! :(
