Not very good food given the prices. I ordered the value combo of a chicken teriyaki bowl – regular size, which, despite how it looks, actually made me full after eating 2⁄3 of it – with 2 potstickers and a small fountain drink. My sister ordered a combo with the chicken teriyaki bowl, 4 California roll pieces, and a small fountain drink. The bowl was okay but the potstickers have way too much dough and the California rolls tasted like they were left in the fridge overnight(which causes the rice to stale, the pieces to break apart easily, and the ingredients to taste almost soiled). Not worth the $ 18 I paid for both meals($ 12 minimum for card purchases fyi)…I’d rather go to Sarku Japan in Oakridge or Valley Fair and get the same thing for a cheaper price and better taste imo.

Worst chicken teriyaki bowl and California rolls I’ve ever had. The rice was stale and the rolls were falling apart. Sarku Japan in the Oakridge food court is so much better and cheaper for the amount of food you get.

I like the typ. dish, U-don, but I find that they are usually very light on noodles. Like, how much does noodles cost. You may lose my business for $. 15 in noodles.

The Lo Mein is soooooo goooood. Throw some soy sauce and the spicy chili paste in there… It’s addicting. If you ask for white meat chicken it’s actually legit white meat which I appreciate. Fresh and made to order. One of my favorite spots! Super fast too. The main guy who is there everytime I go in working the register is nice, and concerned about getting your food to you asap.

I’ve been a fan of wasabi ever since they opened more than 5 years ago. The food has always been consistent. It’s basic(fresh veggies, chicken, sauce and rice). But, wasabi does basic right which makes the food delicious. For the price, it’s a solid meal for under $ 7. Also, who doesn’t like being called«boss» when they order. The staff is extremely friendly. As businesses have come and gone in this area, it’s wasabi’s consistent service and food that has helped it weather storms, which I hope will continue many years to come.

Ok place to get something quick to eat and very affordable. The curry rice bowl was filling but the curry tasted bland and as if the curry came out of a instant powder based box curry. The stir fry and fried rice entrees come in large portions.

I can’t believe this place has been open so long. I’ve seen the signs for healthy food over the years and finally decided to try it. First of the staff was super rude the guy at the register threw down my change and my receipt on the counter. Then when they called my food they did so by saying hey hey heyyyyy. Then shoved it towards me again almost falling off the counter. The worst part was definitely the food though. The pot stickers were wrapped in some which doughy super fried stuff. Cool if you want half grease half food. And I ordered a Korean bowl. Nothing Korean about it the sauce tasted like a garlic version of chicken noodle soup. Thick with preservatives and weird artificial stuff. Unilocal needs to remove it from the healthy eats search. Needless to say I won’t be back. I hope this review saves someone from the disgusting experience in the future.

Beware Vegetarians: Although the owner is very nice and hard working for sure, I feel that their practice of labeling things«vegetarian» when they are not, is misleading. Having a dish with all vegetables in it, and tofu, does not make it a vegetarian dish if the broth is all meat based(chicken stock). I would love it if the owner updated his menu to the new standard of being vegetarian if it is listed this way. There is a level of trust in the restaurant when it is listed that way and a I felt betrayed when I came home and began eating and could taste it had chicken broth. Beware: Loaded with MSG: It also has MSG. My family and I have eliminated MSG from our diets and when we eat foods loaded with it when out because you cannot control what all restaurants use, large amounts cause us headaches. My husband and I both had MSG headaches the day after we ate this food because the ingredients clearly are all MSG, GMO. Poor quality ingredients. Slight changes to the menu would increase the integrity of the food and create loyalty from vegetarians who are looking for places to go. Unfortunately, there are too many who do what this restaurant is doing, so vegetarians are limited to eating out other than nice restaurants with integrity. Dear owner, would you be willing to update your vegetarian options to using vegetable broth? Thank you,
Elaine R.

Quality service and yummy food! We eat here once a week before or after the gym, and it always hits the spot. No it’s not a fancy Japanese restaurant. But the teriyaki white meat chicken bowl with brown rice and veggies is a great alternative to all the fast food in the area! :) *Ask for sauce on the side.

This is Japanese fast food. Keep in mind that Japanese fast food will never be as good as as an actual restaurant. I am half Japanese(live in japan every summer) and my mother who is from japan only makes Japanese food and it doesn’t compare to Wasabi. The taste of their broth is a little different here than most Japanese broths(maybe cause the owner isn’t Japanese so he doesn’t know what it should really be like?). And their cali rolls are cheaply made. Although I do believe that what you get is what you paid for. It was very cheap so obviously you don’t get high end Japanese food. Its sort of like going to pandas express instead of a Chinese cuisine. Its alright but not oriental. I wont recommend or bad talk it, I just wouldn’t go there again unless I was with a friend and they wanted to go. Although, their employees are very nice and kind :) I always love nice service!

CA roll was yuck :( Avocado in roll was brown speckled. Tables were not bussed well either(there literally was a small black ant on my table…) Service was friendly and prices were good. Other customers were in there so maybe their other stuff is good?..

Wasabi is a very interesting Asian Fusion restaurant. Their menu spans the whole range of Asia from Thailand, Korea, Japan and even India. They have everything from Sushi and Udon Soup to Chicken Teriyaki and Rice Bowl. Unfortunately, one of the downfalls of fusion cuisine is it’s usually not very good and Wasabi’s not much different. While the food isn’t great it is pretty decent and there are a few items worth checking out. Here’s a quick list: Goyza– Not a bad rendition of the classic Japanese appetizer. It’s actually better than what I’ve had at some Japanese restaurants. 3.5* California Roll– Slightly below-average version of this ubiquitous sushi roll. I’ve had better, but I’ve certainly had worse. 2.75* Udon Soup– Pretty bland broth that needs lots of extras(i.e., hot sauce, soy sauce, hoison) to perk it up and average store-bought refrigerated noodles. I’d recommend the veggie over the beef and chicken as the meat can tend to be dried out. Sometimes I’ll order just the veggies and broth as a low-carb option. 3* Rice Bowls– This is easily my favorite dish at Wasabi. My two favorites are the Curry Bowl and the Thai Peanut Bowl; all the bowls are available with Chicken(white or dark), Beef or Veggie. You can also substitute Brown rice for a nominal 50¢. The bowls are really good, and they’re a great value and a tremendous amount of food for only around $ 6. 4* Teriyaki Chicken– Not the best Teriyaki I’ve ever had but far from the worst. I’m partial to their their low-carb Teriyaki Bowl; it’s a lot of chicken and veggies for only $ 6! 3.5* Service & Ambiance– Wasabi is one of those places that you walk into; order your food at the counter; pay and then grab it and go, or stay. The main gentleman(owner/manager) behind the counter is amazingly nice and provides some of the best service I’ve ever gotten at these types of establishments. Wasabi is decorated very nicely and is always a comfortable environment to eat in. Plus, they have a soda machine! 4.5* While, not my favorite place to eat, the friendly service and great value keeps me coming back to Wasabi. If you’re in the area they’re a good option for a quick, cheap and(relatively) healthy lunch.

My diet pretty much revolves around chicken and rice year round, and it can be hard to find a places that I can go to for a quick meal. I really wish Wasabi was closer to my gyms! I don’t call this«Japanese» food by any means but I am a sucker for teriyaki chicken and rice. Being said, it is somewhat healthy(when I watch carbs, I skip the sauce or ask for it on the side). Portions are huge and cheap. They give you the option of getting brown rice or going low carb(subbing veggies for rice) and every meal comes with a decent portion of protein. It’s mostly dark meat, but you can do all white meat for an extra $ 1. Did I mention that it’s cheap? Only $ 5.99 for the large teriyaki bowl, which can easily be split into two meals for most people. And let’s be frank. for about $ 5 and something«healthy», your only other option is a Subways sandwich. and the rice bowls are Wasabi are way more appetizing and tasty then a cold cut sandwich. I tend to eat half of the rice and the whole portion of chicken, then save the rest of the rice and put in my own chicken for a second meal. The to-go container is super nice and microwaveable as well, which is a nice touch. Again, don’t try comparing Wasabi to a Japanese restaurant because that’s like comparing apples and oranges. The food is consistent and it’s a great place for a quick, cheap, and filling meal!
