Great food, service and ambiance. I sat, ate, and chilled. No rushing, no overly attentive servers. I enjoyed my Shrimp Egg Foo Young and Chicken Fried Rice. I will be back.

1÷27÷16, Sunny, dinner with husband after work from Oakland, 3rd time to be here.(1st time evaluate of this restaurant) Ambiance: Serving More than 50 seats, very clean, quiet and nice, different from other Chinese Restaurant. Enough space to keep privacy, not crowded. Food: Most of them are delicious, fresh food. It’s good to have family dinner special, I love Wanton soup, recommend crab cheese rangoons, SUPERGOOD. Service: Nice staff, just they might have not enough staff to serve quick, but not worse, it’s acceptable. Definitely Recommend.

We’ve only eaten in the restaurant once but have had food delivered several times and it never fails. The food is always hot, fast and delivered with a smile. One note is that u receive free egg rolls for an order over $ 25 well needless to say we grew tired of the egg rolls and asked for rangoons instead and it wasn’t a problem. Great!

I ordered three entrees and crab wontons. I only enjoyed the wontons. The other entrees had sauce dripping from the takeout containers when I received them. The fried sweet and sour chicken was soggy and all egg rolls in each take out tray was sitting in sauce. So the egg rolls were all soggy. I’m use to my basil chicken a certain way, garlic, onions and peppers. This also had mushrooms and celery in it. I may have overlooked the ingredients of the basil chicken by mistake. So it’s my bad. But again, the crab wontons were excellent. But no chance in ordering from this place again. I wasted my money.

Really good food. Arrives hot and in a timely manner. They take the extra step of poking small holes into the top of container to allow steam to escape. This made sure food wasn’t over-cooked by steam at arrival. So far we have had the orange chicken, the cherry chicken, the potstickers, mongolian beef, several of the veggie combinations, varying noodles dishes. In total we have ordered 7 times and NEVER had a bad experience. The only reason I gave this place a 4-star instead of 5-star is because their prices are a bit on the high side. However, we obviously deal with it because we just ordered again last night.

This is the best Asian food in the area. Clean, good service, really good food. We’ve been here several times in the last two years and we are very happy they are here. My only complaint is that they close in the afternoon after lunch and don’t open until 5 so I can’t stop and get an early dinner. But I will live with that! We love this place and will be back.

My boyfriend and I eat at the Kai Bistro regularly, service is NORMALLY good and food wonderful. We were there recently however and had a very bad experience. we seated ourselves as usual and waited for menus. We were passed by waiters repeatedly over and over, for over 10 minutes and not one person even LOOKED at us! When I finally got up and ASKED for menus I was asked to wait even though the host had a stack of menus right next to him. I am so annoyed, I may never return. I’ve never had such horrible service! What a let down.

Stopped in unexpectedly. Saw decent reviews and thought I would try it out. The décor is nice and it was very quiet — just a couple other guests. Service was quick and courteous. I ordered wor wonton and Mongolian beef(the beef has great reviews). The soup had good flavor and a generous amount of vegetables including chicken, beef and shrimp. Although the flavor was good it was way too salty. The Mongolian beef was ok. Too salty and not spicy at all. And the meat was a bit chewy or too soft — it just was a little off. I like to try new places but it’s difficult to get Chinese food right. They tried but didn’t achieve the high standard I have for good Chinese food.

I am having to down grade my review of this place. My wife was sick and stayed home. I came home for lunch and we ordered via Eat24. It took Kai Bistro two hours to bring our food. They said they had no driver as their driver called in sick. Which I can understand but if they had just communicated that I could have just drove in and picked up my order or canceled it and got food from an other place. This is only not the first time this had happened when ordering food from them. I normally eat at the restaurant or pick up the food which I will only be doing from now on. They can earn back the five star review from me over time.

A quick pickup service very tasty. I called in for pickup and order was readily available within time of arrival about 510 minutes. This business is very professional and I would highly recommend them for good Chinese take out.

Really over the Chinese food restaurants I’ve grew up on… Decided to try this hidden jewel!(Thanks fellow Unilocalers) Here is our order: Mongolian Beef: ABSOLUTELY amazing!!! Just enough onions, flavor & spice. Honey Walnut Prawns: Very good… I could use a little more coating but the flavor stood out! Prawn Fried Rice: Not the best, but not horrible either… Sweet & Sour Pork: Ordered for my Fiancée, I’m no fan of S&S anything. To sum it all up, I’ll definitely be back. I’d like to explore the menu. Its also nice & clean inside. the young man was very pleasant & professional… Customer Service goes a long way with me! Give them a try if in the area.

My order was delivered an hour and 10 minutes after I placed it. I called the restaurant after receiving two wrong items. Roy explained that«they were really busy» and that«he didn’t read the ticket fully» so they sent chicken instead of the prawns we ordered. When we asked about the vegetable gyoza that had meat in it he explained that they were out of the veggie ones and should have called us but he decided to send meat instead. The brown rice was cooked well and it was tasty. I did not care for the broccoli in garlic sauce. The broccoli was mushy and the sauce had an unpleasant aftertaste. The egg rolls were oily and had little filling. Also, I requested two sets of chopsticks that they did not send. Overall, this was an extremely unpleasant experience and I have no idea why Kai Bistro has such a positive Unilocal rating.

Great neighborhood Chinese take out or eat in. We’ve ordered take out for delivery twice now and both times were great food and delivered in a timely manner. We will continue to eat from Kai Bistro!

We had a great 5– star experience here a few days ago so we decided to go back today. BIG mistake! The place was empty and different people work on Saturdays. The food and service were horrible(worthy of 1 star)! The man(cook?) dropped our food on the table without speaking and walked away. At the end I was asked how the food was and I said not so good. The host/server wanted to debate what I ordered a few days ago. He said I must have forgotten what I ordered. I said maybe the cook forgot how to cook it. I ordered Crispy Lemon Tofu and a few days ago It was crispy. Today the Crispy Lemon Tofu was plain soft tofu, nothing crispy about it. While we ate the phone rang for a good 3 – 5 minutes and nobody answered it. Along with the ring I also got to hear the caller id say who was calling. Worst lunch I have had in a long time. I will never come back here on a weekend.

First time I came here, I tried their Mongolian Beef lunch special, and I have to tell you the quality of their beef is A grade!!! The sauce had just enough spice to satisfy my palates, and the portion was huge. Second time I was craving for some Thai food so I ordered the Thai Basil Eggplant. I brought the leftovers home and my mom finished it within 5 minutes. Honestly it’s one of the best Thai basil dishes around the area. Two days ago I ordered their chicken teriyaki, and to my delight it was juicy, tender, and delicious. Their salad is different from most Japanese restaurant and I had to order a refill because it was so good. Where can you find a place where it delivers quality Chinese, Thai, and Japanese bento all at once? Kai Bistro has them all, and I didn’t even mention their honey walnut shrimp yet!!!

Just want to say this is my new favorite Chinese restaurant in SL. I love the family meal«D» it’s so worth it, has soup, appetizer, 2 dishes & fried rice!(all shrimp, my favorite) Also the service is excellent! It’s such a hidden gem! Another plus is that they deliver, used it on a Unilocal the other day(it’s so user friendly). So if your lazy to drive & you are about to watch the Warriors game just go on Unilocal & you can order on your phone!

A Groupon brought me in. They were located on MacArthur Blvd between Estudillo Ave and Dutton Ave in San Leandro. I ordered take out. The Chinese Chicken Salad was just cut iceberg lettuce with sliced deep fried chicken and a commercial honey dressing. The Mu Shu Pork was greasy and came with only 4 pancakes. The Wonton Soup was bland with a few vegetables and wontons. The Peking Style Ribs were very good. They were crisp and meaty with very little bone. I would not return.

I usually only go to Chinese restaurants that are more authentic like the Great China restaurant in Berkeley, but I started coming here because it’s the closest lunch spot by my job. I HIGHLY recommend this place for your usual American style Chinese food. I took everyone’s recommendation to try the Mongolian beef lunch special, and I’ve been hooked on it the last 15 times I’ve come here. It’s the best Mongolian beef I’ve ever had, better than Great China! Unbelievably tender, sauce is Delish, and the hot and sour soup is the icing on the cake. Since I ate the Mongolian beef yesterday, I decided to try the sweet and sour chicken lunch special, and I have to say this is a good quality lunch. The pieces are big and generous and has a thin batter coating, which I like because most places have barely any meat with a ton of batter. They even make the meal seem a little healthier by including a few pieces of broccoli. Overall: Meat portions are generous Clean and new looking Server is nice — just hard to reach over the phone around 11am.

One of my favorite things ever is being able to order Chinese on Halloween night when I get off BART, and be able to pick up a pipping hot dinner for two 15 minutes later. Our $ 40 menu: Vegetable chow mein: Standard, thicker noodles, variety of veggies. Could use more of a pop of flavor, but it’s noodles, so yeah. Just add some sriacha. Mongolian beef: Nice spicy kick, tender beef, not completely overloaded with onions although I’m a huge fan of onions so your opinion may be different than mine. Egg rolls: Very standard, medium sized. This kind of sounds weird but I kind of wish they didn’t give you packets of sweet and sour. I get that even the stuff in the containers is fake but I feel like I deserve a little better than packet condiments like I just left Panda Express. Honey Walnut Prawns: I was digging the citrus undertone(maybe it was from the bed of orange slices they were lounging on), and overall pretty darn tasty, but they’re really battered. Like, each shrimp is wearing a thick batter sweater. And there needs to be more walnuts. But despite our frank criticism, we would order it again when we have a hanking for some mayonnaisey fried prawns. Steamed rice: Really fresh, and even the next day it wasn’t dried out. It’s the simple things that are sometimes so important to get right.

Came here on a Friday night and it was empty inside so it made me a little worried. But it did not disappoint! Great food and service was on point. — Sizzling Rice Soup: light delicious flavor with crispy fresh veggies 5⁄5 — General Tao’s Chicken: crispy and saucy; comes with some broccoli 4⁄5 — Salt and Pepper Shrimp: deliciousssss! Not too crunchy not too soggy, perfect consistency with the right amount of breading to shrimp ratio 5⁄5 — Beef with String Bean Black Bean Sauce: decent but not spectacular. My least favorite dish even though I love string beans. Needs more flavor IMO. 3⁄5 — Spicy Stir Fried Garlic Sauce Chicken with Snow Peas: has a nice kick to it but I can’t eat too much of it 4⁄5 — Salt and Pepper Tofu: It had a pleasant texture but I wouldn’t order it again. On the plain and bland side; would be better if it had some kind of sauce with it. 3⁄5 — Crispy Noodles: this was also average, nothing spectacular. The bok choy had the hard stem parts still on it which was a turn off for me(just my personal preference) 3⁄5 Service was great! All the food was fresh, hot and came all at the same time. The restaurant was clean and they even have different colored straws so cups don’t get mixed up with larger parties(6+). You also get fortune cookies at the end that had unconventional messages(kinda interesting hehehe) or at least messages that were unusual like«fear knocked at the door». Overall highly recommended and I am definitely coming back!
