Literally had to give the driver directions on the phone to get to my apartment, turn by turn directions! Doesn’t papa johns equip their drivers with a GPS or map?

Location is under New Management and has become my go-to pizza place in San Leandro. Quality and service are great.

I have ordered from this location for years. Last week I put in an order and the manager, Natasha, called me and let me know there was a problem with the driver and it wouldn’t be delivered until much later(or I could come in or cancel the order). I decided to cancel the order and she said to call in next time I ordered and I would get 50% off. Well I have called twice and the GM refused to give me the discount and refuses to talk to Natasha to verify what she said. He keeps saying«there is no note» and to call back when Natasha is there but when I call, Natasha is never there. I’m over this place and will start using another location. *Side note* I do not have a problem with Natasha. I just have a problem with the GM.

So disappointed Ordered a 5 topping large pizza and 8 pics buffalo chicken wings. 5 toppings but I can barely see any topping on the pizza. The only thing I can tell it is just a cheese pizza. And buffalo wings are so small. That is the smallest chicken wing I have ever seen in the restaurant. Don’t buy it. Totally not with it. I don’t even want give this place one star, 0 point. Worst place ever

I used to order from this Papa John’s location a few years ago but craved it one day and had to have it. We called in the pizza at 2:42 and we didn’t receive the pizza until after 4:30…that’s almost 2 hours waiting for a pizza that was literally a few blocks away. Yes we could have picked up the pizza, but then what’s the point of delivery. I even called Papa John’s to see what the hold up was, and the woman who answered the phone said«he’s on his way you should have it any minute,» and then she hung up quickly. A minute turned into another half hour. When we finally got our pizza, we opened the box and were extremely disappointed. I ordered a garden fresh with pepperoni, and what we saw was a cheese pizza with very few vegetables dumped in the middle of the pizza. So not only did it take forever to get delivered, but they took forever to deliver crap. Very upset, did not satisfy my craving, and will not be returning.

Horrendously slow now. Used to be ok, but now they take over an hour to drop off a pizza.

I’m outside right now. It’s 8:35pm and they’re closed! I asked the employees inside, one said I can still order and the other said closed! I guess they close whenever the manager feels like closing

I use to frequent this location when I lived in San Leandro. I ordered two large pineapple and chicken pizzas for carryout. Me and my friends were satisfied and this turned out to be enough food for 5 people. I’ve never used their delivery service so I can’t comment on that aspect of the business. I’ve always liked the staff and thought that they were friendly. I will definitely return to this location.

I just called this place at 10:03pm and they are suppose to be open until 11pm(stated on your website and on Unilocal). Why do they tell me they close at 9:30pm. Papa John corporate office, you need to check this location. Your employees would rather shut down business so you can lose money. Update: I went to the hayward location and the employee said they use to work at San Leandro and said because this store is slow… They close early. Well, update your info on Unilocal so us, consumers, know not to go to your location. Thus the reason it’s slow.

Tried it for the first time… BIGMISTAKE ! It took 2 hrs for the pizza to arrive! My bro almost couldn’t eat because he needed to catch a flight. First girl I called was not helpful, second time I called a girl named Mckenzie was more helpful even called the driver. Drivers excuse was it was busy… finally got the pizza and it was cold… One of the pizzas had pepperoni when grilled chicken was requested, which was my mom’s and she couldn’t eat it because pepperoni is spicy to her. Breadsticks were chewy… Buffalo chicken not even spicy… Actually not even buffaloed! Jus plain chicken! We should have just ordered dominos they come within 45 mins or less and the pizza is still hot! Very disappointed… We won’t be ordering here again even if manning was to show up.

I redeemed some verizon points online towards a large speciality pizza at this location ‘only’. I tried to place the order on papa John’s website to save myself time waiting there. The website informed me that the coupon is not valid online. So drove all the way to San Leandro to order that pizza and when I showed the only employee there the coupon, she told me i have to ask my manager about the coupon and get directions on how to apply it. She called the manager who told her: the customer has to call custom service to walk me through the steps… bla bla really? Do you guys expect me to call customer service to walk through the steps to order a f***ing pizza on a Christmas weekend? !!! I threw away the coupon there at PJ and left. I will never go there and pleaae PJ don’t contact me when i make a decision i won’t change my mind. All this hassle for a pizza? !!! Not worth it

We came here to order pizza but the girl said they’re closed and only delivery until 9:30pm for Friday night. Unilocal shows you guys are open till 11pm?! Went to Round Table instead. I’m still wondering how they’re closed at 9:20pm on a friday night when Unilocal says 11pm, awful.

I think the employees need to revisit health standards or take a class on it, because none of them wash their hands before touching the food after they’ve touched money or the machines. I also saw the manager on duty handle cash and then stick said hands into the condiments. Yes, not one condiment, all the condiments as she was going through the order with another associate. YUCK! I will not take food poisoning as a side dish, thank ya very much.

I used to order from here a lot since they were decently priced and near by. I should have just hopped in my car and drove to porky’s! Their online deals for this location are okay but it would be nice to consider small households(like mine: just me and the boyfriend) since most of their deals involve a lot of food. In my most recent, and last, interaction with the place I ordered a «free» pizza since I got a bunch of points from previous orders. I ordered a sausage, pineapple, and green pepper pizza and a 10 piece chicken poppers. Drivers don’t listen or read delivery instructions. I live in a gated complex and he didn’t stay in the front since I was already walking up there. Got there and he said he parked near my place and was getting ready to walk to the door. I’m not there!!! I told him to stay and he didn’t. To top it off he parked in another tenants covered parking spot. Told me he couldn’t hear me and I told him his music was too loud. I shouldn’t have tipped him since I powered walked to chase him down. When I got back to my apartment and opened up the pizza, it just looked weird! All of the toppings were UNDER the cheese and this made eating it very hard, cause when the cheese would slide off so would all of the toppings. The flavor was lacking and tasted old. I then turned to the chicken, thinking you can’t mess up chicken pieces and ranch dipping sauce. False! I only received 8 out of my 10 poppers and they were mostly breading. This order was not worth it and maybe it’s because I ordered a «free» pizza and didn’t order a full priced item. Even if I get a free pizza, make it well so I will return as a customer. I will never come back here or order online. You have lost a customer due to poor quality, poor delivery service, and I’m done!

Ordered pizza for delivery, the pizza was very good. I have always enjoyed it. The problem is that when it came is was using the restroom mainly because it took an hour. My teenage son and friend were on the porch and payed the man. 20 min later a local cop showed up and is accusing the boys of throwing only $ 6 at the driver and taking the pizza. The order had been $ 30. Of course it was not true. The boys are very good. My neighbors were out and had not seen it. So I went to the store to talk as I did the driver walked in and as soon as he saw the boys he ran out. I told the manager and she was rude and so I had to take it further up the chain and it was nicely resolved.

Papa Johns is on the pricey side compared to their competition. But they tout higher quality ingredients and I concur. Delivery time can take as little as 35 minutes to as much as 80 minutes. Delivery minimum is $ 20 and delivery fee is $ 3. Tax and delivery combined is $ 5 on a $ 20 order. After, delivery, tax and tip, I’ll easily spend $ 35 for 2 people. That gets you a medium specialty pizza, a side, and 2 drinks. If you have a sweet tooth, order the Cinnapie for $ 6. It’s «cinnamon filling, brown sugar streusel with white icing» goodness in the size of a medium pizza. Because of higher prices, delivery fee, and inconsistent delivery time, 3 stars.

At the end of the day, these guys do an all right job at what you’d expect from a place like Papa John’s. No, it’s not going to be an artisanal, think-crust pizza that’s made in a brick oven using only organic ingredients. It’s a national pizza chain and it’s going to only be so good. But, like I said, these guys make a decent pizza when you’re not in the mood to cook. The staff seems friendly but they’re not exactly efficient. The downside is that they can take longer to make the pizza than they say over the phone, hence another star down. I don’t exactly like the owner(actually, I think he’s a tool) but this franchise does a decent job.

Usually I’m a Papa John’s fan and would love to own a franchise. However, I would choose my staff wisely and go through a rigorous customer service training. On the phone I ordered carry out for the staff at the hospital and was met with a rather harsh tone. After finishing my conversation with the person, I had to mentally tell myself that when I pick up my pizza I won’t get shot at. So after 15 minutes I walked in and thought I was going to get shot. People were looking at me like they were going to jump me instead of ring me up. Take it easy people, I just want a pizza, it’s not even for me it’s for some nurses. Either folks are used to violence in here or something cause I almost felt like I was going to get hurt.(But then again, I’m not from around here so my instinct to run isn’t usually triggered unless well… I feel like I’m being mad dogged) Anyhoo… just saying, won’t order from here… ever…never…ever again.

I dont know, weird that there is some negative reviews but from my experience everything is always great. I order online, they get the order, it comes out delicious, piping hot just like i ordered it. Not rocket science. They always greet with a smile, I wish I knew there names to give them credit, I always rememeber a long hair asian dude with great service alway busy working, mutli tasking. He’ll be in the middle of tossing a pizza, then come by to greet. Theres a few girls there that do a great job as well with a warm welcome smile. One of my favs was this country white dude kinda looks like a trucker, very good service. Ive gotten so many pizza here I’ve save my points and have gotten my free pizza from the online deal. Keep up the good work!

A Groupon enticed me to try Papa John’s in San Leandro. Its a little farther then we usually go for pizza, but no big deal. Called to place my order, they tell me to use the Groupon I have to go online. No problem. Online site a little weird, but not too hard to use. Placed my order, hopped in the car and off I went. We had«the Works». The pizza was surprisingly good. Not great, but better than most«fast food» type pizzas. Better than Costco, Domino’s, worse than Zachary’s or La Val’s, so 3 stars for the Papa.

Order online for the fastest possible service. Quick delivery, friendly staff, and cheap prices. A ton of combo deals. The food is decent but by far not the best pizza I’ve had. It’s great when you’re on a budget and don’t want to cook.
