I got take out here recently except it’s not the sandwitchery anymore. it’s Delight Café, a hong kong style café with an infusion of chinese cheap eats. Sandwitchery: CLOSED!

I disagree with the other reviews… I stumbled in here and got the Italian chick… it’s was pretty good. They must have read their reviews and changed… cause they were soooo nice and helpful. I would go back again if I was in the area.

I’ve had one Cobb salad from this place which was just ok and a bit overpriced. Walked by there recently and it appears the owner has closed up shop. Oh well, that’s that!

Went by today for lunch, and the place is closed, with a farewell letter posted inside the door.

I am only giving this place a 3 out of 5 because the only thing I order off the menu varies in consistency. I come here for salad and sometimes it has sprouts and sometimes it comes with fresh tomatoes or «older tomatoes». It seems like it depends what they have in inventory. Nevertheless, I’ve always been just satisfied and the service has been great.

I’m a huge fan of this place. Not the fanciest in town but they make a good sandwich — which is what I am looking for during my lunch hour. The ladies behind the counter are pleasant and say goodbye to you when you leave(I love that! It makes me feel like they actually care!). I’ve been there twice(hmmm… think I’ll hit them up for lunch tomorrow) and have had tuna on toasted wheat(or whole grain maybe — anyway, it’s SO good!) with provolone and a tomato. Yummy! The last time I was there my sandwich had so much tuna I didn’t know what to do with myself!

Let me first say that I absolutely love this place! The service is fantastic and the food is fresh and tasty. They have the best chicken salad sandwich in the bay area. I highly the Sandwitchery for lunch and catering. This place rocks!

I have eaten there a couple of times. I have been very pleased with the service and the meal. The staff was especially helpful and courteous. I am happy to recommend this sandwich establishment to ALL of my friends.

I agree with Rebecca regarding the poor reviews. I have had good experiences and their sandwiches/salads are just right: not too big or too small. When in the area & in a rush, I usually get the wraps or the large salads & call in advance for my order. As for the statements that the Sandwitchery is never open? Well, what can you expect if it’s a place only open for lunch in the business district!!! I think you all are a bit too negative & hard on the reviews for the Sandwitchery. What about supporting the small local businesses!!! The ”mom & popness” is what makes this place unique.

Aw this place has such horrible reviews, but I thought it was ok! But maybe it was because I had just worked out at the gym and was ready to eat just about anything… haha. We shared the reuben & holiday turkey sandwiches. The reuben wasn’t that great… a little on the unhealthy side and too much sauerkraut for my liking. The holiday turkey was good, love the cranberry sauce and all the greens in it! They can only do so much service-wise since it’s a deli but the lady did bring us «house water»(which is ice water with lemon) to our table — how nice! I totally hate living in San Leandro since there is definitely a lack of things to do & places to eat but this place makes it just a LITTLE better :)

Ok. I was really excited to go to this place. It was never open, and one day I finally caught it. The menu did not excite me, but I finally settled on a Veggie Melt. 6.50 or so seemed REALLY steep for a veggie sandwich, and on top of that, I had to pay 1.50 extra for avocado. If they are not paying for the meat which is NOT going on my sandwich, they could include avocado. But I wanted to try it anyway, so I did, and got it with everything. 10 minutes later I had a sandwich — the worst sandwich I have ever eaten. I am not exaggerating, this was awful. It was TINY. There was no mustard or mayo, they melted the lettuce and sprouts on there(gross), it was TOTALLY thin. It was basically a glorified(ha, not really) cheese sandwich. I was completely and utterly disappointed, almost to the point of asking why they charged me 6.50 for such a sad sandwich. And I am NOT that kind of person — this is my first review on Unilocal because I was so upset with what I was hoping to make my new sandwich shop. I appreciate the local business, I appreciate women run businesses even more — but not if they are terrible. I’d rather go to Quiznos or Subway, even if they are a chain. That being said, I saw a salad, and it did look good. But it’s not called the SALADERY, its called the SANDWITCHERY. Don’t waste your money.

sandwitchery is a lil spot that i normally go to for lunch with co-workers. their sandwiches are fresh and out of the ordinary, their salads(esp the cobb) is huge! everytime i go there, i always get a welcome and its nice. the have a huge selection of sandwiches and i recommend tryin the nutty chicken salad sandwich on the raisin bread. ive only been there a couple of times and already they know my name, its good customer service when they want to know the customers behind the order… the only thing i didnt like was their clam chowder, which is a bit runny but its ok… i like this place and will continue to go here

I’m a little sad to see the poor reviews from my fellow Unilocalers about The Sandwitchery. Here’s my solution: try a salad! I work in San Leandro and this is the only place in town to get a healthy salad for lunch. The salads are great; fresh veggies, big portions and a great price. I will admit that it feels a little too family run sometimes, it lacks the polish of a professional business and the décor looks like someone took the cast-off’s from their liviing room and put them in their restaurant rather than at Goodwill where the junk belongs. So it’s nothin’ to look at.. .. The food is consistently good and reasonably priced. In this age of mass-produced fast food chains, it’s refreshing to have the option of a locally(woman) owned and operated business. Give it a try.

Ehhh. This sandwich shop is nothing to write home about. I’ve been in a couple times(when I’m desperately hungry). They always seem disorganized. Today I went in, there were at least 3 people behind the counter and the one female closest to the register, announced to me that she had to get her phone order taken care of. She finally chilled out and got me my Italian Wedding Soup. The soup there is ok, I would say better than the sandwiches. It’s a quick fix until you have more time for some place better! ****Updated 06÷28÷07 I was craving a turkey/PESTO sandwich and was desperate enough since I didn’t have time to drive. I asked for a turkey/pesto/tomato/lettuce sandwich on wheat. All I can say is EWWWWWW. NEVEREVER order pesto from this place. It is the jarred stuff from the shelf and is GROSS on a sandwich. Completely UN-fresh and oily. I won’t say NEVER, but I will say, I’d have to be truly starving, and all other business were closed, before I visit this place again. They SUCK.

My experience was unmemorable too — my cream of zucchini soup was cold and they kept screwing up my order. How hard is it to make a salami on rye with everything? They’re getting an extra star, though, because they apologized 11 times and offered me a free bag of chips.

Totally mediocre. Had a salami sandwich with clam chowder, and it was all completely average. Actually, I take that back. The chowder was below average. Totally runny and tasteless. I’ve had much better out of a can. Meh…
