Boyfriend and I found ourselves craving sushi for dinner one night at about 8:30PM, but didn’t want to go out to eat. Luckily for us, Ichi is both nearby, was still open at the time AND takes online orders through Unilocal! So we hurriedly placed and order and ran to go pick it up about 10 minutes before they closed for the night. We ordered a spicy tuna roll, an Alaskan roll, a country roll and the 9-piece sashimi combo. While a bit on the pricey side for sushi(the total ended up being roughly $ 45), it definitely satisfied the cravings! Nothing about the food necessarily made me pause and go, «WOW, that was AMAZING!» but the food wasn’t bad either. Overall, I’d rate the food 3 stars, but with the convenience of online ordering and by virtue of being a 5 minute drive away, I bumped Ichi up to 4 stars. We’ll be ordering from here again, I’m sure!

Love that this place is so close to my house! I usually order to go when I come here and my order always comes out quick and yummy.

I’ve always past by this place but never tried it. I walked in and it was empty which worried me… however, after trying the 49er role I was really happy I stopped in! I also loved their salad and chicken teriyaki. Their chicken was great quality… not the typical stringy and chewy chicken that other places use. Their rice was really good also. Staff is very friendly and attentive. So happy I have another local sushi place to go to!!!

Nice selection of sushi and entrees. I enjoyed my two entrée combo of the tonkatsu and nigiri(4 pieces).

I love this place! You won’t believe how hard it is to find a sushi restaurant around San Lorenzo that serves Uni, and when I did find it here, they have became no doubt my favorite sushi restaurant in this area. The ambient is quite and dim, with TVs and sports. Very relaxing and often you find only few people in there, unlike the other sushi restaurants around here. Packed with people and very loud. Some of my favorite items here are their garlic edamame(must try if you like edamame!) Uni nigiri with quail eggs and they have dollar oysters on I believe every Wed and Thurs.

I met up with a buddy to eat lunch and watch the Warrior game. When I walked in there was only one other group inside. We sat down immediately and checked out the menu. The first thing I noticed was this place was very clean. We were greeted right away and our waitress was very friendly and attentive to us. She brought us some water right away and gave us time to figure out what we wanted. We put our order in and started to watch the game. My buddy ordered a bento box and I ordered some sushi rolls. We also ordered a few large bottles of Sapporo and she put them in an ice bucket to stay cold for us. We received our food pretty quickly and not only did our food look fresh but it was delicious. Our waitress checked in on us a few times to see if we needed anything. Once we finished eating she brought us the check. Everything seemed appropriately priced for the quality and quantity of food you got. I definitely would recommend this place and I plan on coming back here for sure.

Good food, fair prices but too Americanized. The ton katsu was good, but I marked down a star because portions are too big; I would much rather have a smaller entrée and try a variety of dishes. Also, because they failed to provide me with a mountain of thinly sliced cabbage. No ton katsu is complete without that, however good your pickled cucumbers may be. That said, the ichi roll was pretty great and all of it was good. I’m still not sure if I should give bonus points for giving me more katsu sauce without any attitude or subtract them for not automatically providing a bottle. I may be hard to please when it comes to Japanese. This place is worth a try.

First time eating here. I had a Bento box with Ton Katsu and Teriyaki beef and my wife had a Bento box with salmon and tempura. We were very pleased with dinner, everything was fresh and delicious. The service was very timely and friendly. We will definitely return.

Ordered a Lion King and Hawaii roll take out. Very pricy and small in size. Hard to imagine how could they sustain business. Compare to their pictures in Unilocal, apparently they have a dine-in size and take out size on all their food.

Only place I can get good poke around here. Rolls were good and my husband really liked the karaage chicken. Will be going back for the poke salad… it was good, and mainly why I gave this place a three star. Everything else was ok for me and if they didn’t have the poke I would have given it a two, but I’m a sucker for it.

Found out there was a small sushi place near me that did online takeout orders so of course I had to check it out. Although I normally get chirashis I thought I’d switch it up and go with the deluxe nigiri and sashimi combo today. I also order an order of uni and suzuki(though they ran out of uni but they called me within minutes to let me know and to switch out my order with amaebi instead). Unfortunately I also received the nigiri combo w/a california roll instead of the nigiri and sashimi combo. The fish quality in general was kind of mixed. The suzuki was probably the best tasting out of my selection. Almost everything else was decent 3.5 star quality except the ikura and tako that didn’t taste the freshest. The amaebi was also not very sweet which was disappointing since it’s one of my favorite items. The worst thing about the meal though was definitely the quality of the rice which was as close to mush despite looking fairly decent. The rice had a stronger flavor compared to a lot of sushi rice I’ve had recently but it was a bit on the sweeter side which I personally wasn’t as big a fan of. Overall, not a half bad place. I’d like to give it another shot eventually to try their chirashi.

First good thing is, the place is spacious, ample parking lots and no more standing in line waiting to get seated. Second, waitress is very helpful and personable. Third, their food may not be the best of the best Japanese, but for the price, it is definitely worth the bucks. Will be coming back for the garlic edamame.

I found this place on Unilocal because of the Wednesday special of $ 1 oysters. I never thought I was going to find a decent place in San leandro/San Lorenzo with great review of raw oysters. Came here with a party of 5 and got seated right away. There wasn’t really a wait but there were a good amount of people dining before dinner time. Ordered a whole bunch of oysters, a few rolls and a bento box. Really good miso soup here, and even basic stuff like chicken katsu was on point. Rolls were delicious and what I loved the most was the ponzu and I think another spicy red sauce(not tabasco) that just complimented the oysters really well. Ended up eating about 4 dozen oysters and didn’t spend a fortune. Coming back for sure.

Was nearby so called this place for to go orders. Ordered four Bento boxes and at $ 13.50 each with tax for two items is pricey. The worst part is I called at 11:40 and said I would be by at 12. I got there at 12:05 and they did not start yet. I guess they wanted to make sure I was real. Did not leave until 12:25 and there was only one other table. Waiting 45 for my order not acceptable. I called in for the order for a reason, not for them to wait until I got there. I have been there for sit down and thought it was average food, above average price. This place won’t be my near the top of my list.

First time here and it’s our last… You have one chef! I understand it’s a weekday, but at least have a fast chef. We got our appetizers in 15 mins… We finished it within 10 to 15 mins. Our sushi took another 30 mins! Just sitting and waiting for it we weren’t even hungry anymore. After we got it we ate 2 pieces and asked for a to go box because it wasn’t the best. The rice was wet and it wasn’t worth the calories. There were literally only 4 tables. It’s basic sushi that isn’t worth the price. Don’t waste your time. 30 mins for 2 rolls! Not worth it…

Came to this spot when they first open(don’t remember when that was) and it was pretty decent, so I decided to give it another try because i knew our default sushi spot would be packed on a Friday night… We walked into the restaurant and you could hear crickets… the place was empty… and the first thing you notice is the overly strong scent of perfume or sickly sweetness that gave me a headache. The food was okay… I’ve had better and I’ve had worse… we ordered 2 rolls and ton kastu donburi. Over all not bad for decent food without a wait. Good service, could have done without the obnoxious asian man sitting at the bar, who I’m guessing was the owner of the place but over all… could have been worse.

Been to a lot of different Sushi places before, this one is definitely on my top 5. We ordered the Tekka maki, A’s roll and of course the Lion King. Lion King… Meh it was okay. We got 8 rolls for I believe $ 9 and that was actually pretty cheap I didn’t like how it didn’t have that freshly baked hot taste, it was actually pretty cold so the taste was *alright* My favorite was definitely the A’s roll though, super delicious, avacado was ONPOINT. YUM! I’d give this place 4 stars if the lion king was a little better but overall not bad!

We tried this small restaurant based on it having 4 stars and some positive reviews however, we were greatly disappointed. The service was slow even though we were the only people initially in the restaurant. Then it took about 20 minutes before our food came out however, all of our dishes were cold; our teriyaki beef dinners were each fatty and inedible, the California rolls were soft and to moist and cold. None of us were able to finish our meals and left it uneatten. After sitting here and filling up on our rice bowls we are heading to Wendy’s restaurant to fill up on fast food after already paying for a meal.

I read the reviews before I sat down. The server was pretty cool. But the food was not good. 2 of the 3 orders came out room temperature like they had been sitting for awhile or were part of a previously cancelled order. I ordered the bento box with California rolls, teriyaki beef, and salmon teriyaki. The salmon teriyaki was good, the beef was full of fat and medium rare(all 3 of us got beef, and there was so much fat none of us could eat it), the sushi was loosely wrapped, soft, and didn’t taste fresh. We didn’t have time to comment on the poorly made food, and ended up going to wendys:(Overall the waiter was decent, the salad, sprite, and salmon teriyaki was pretty good, but I wont be back.
