Great local restaurant we have been coming to since opening … Very welcoming atmosphere, fresh fish and usually will have hirame where most other sushi restaurant don’t have it… They will remember you for your next visit if you have special request such adding lemon to my salmon sashimi… Owner make her own plum wine to serve during winter holiday for those that drink plum wine through out the year. A gem in the San Leandro where you can watch sport game with happy hour drinks or a great meal including fresh oyster…

I will admit this place has really good and fresh food and I am a fan. However there service is SOSLOW(yes for pick up too) I have them repeat my order at least 3 times when i call in my orders because they can never get it right. Their slow service makes me think twice about coming back… but i am weak when it comes to good food and this place can give you a great meal!

Do not go here! We got food poisoned! We had the sashimi and we did not sleep at all. Our stomach was in pain and we threw up all the food we ate. I’m really upset because now we’re going to the emergency room to get treated! Horrible! I hope a health inspector catches this problem. I’m disgusted!

Service sucks and food is just ok. They NEVER came to ask us if we needed anything else. I ordered a green tea ice cream and they brought my MELTED ice cream. I was shocked. And the lady looked at me and took it back as if she was waiting to see if I would take them or not. Then came back and said they didn’t have any more green tea ice cream. I will never return. If I could I would give them no stars.

I love this sushi restaurant. They have excellent customer service. My son loves it! We have many sushi restaurants closer to my house, but this place treats us well! I love the spicy ball everything is so fresh! We also have a great experience and forever will eat at this restaurant.

My daughter and I come here at least once a week. She is the pickiest eater but she absolutely loves the miso soup and the kids chicken teriyaki meal. Their miso soup is better than most. Highly recommend their 49er roll. Great and friendly staff who always know my order.

Good Sushi here. You get a lot for your dollar. The waitress even remembered which Soy sauce I like. Nice and fresh. If I wasn’t from Hawaii I would give this place 5 stars.

Miso soup is good. They got my order wrong twice but by the second time i did not even bother. I ordered a deep fried veggie roll and i got veggie tempura with rice on the side. When i told them that was not what i ordered they brought me a roll with the fried tempura i returned. They basically recycled the food. Then they brought me my side of rice after i was done eating. Overall not a good experience

First time coming to this place after driving by it for years. We decided we needed another sushi place to go to when the other spot we frequently go to is closed in San Leandro. Walked in and sat at the bar. After reading all the Unilocal reviews, we decided to have our own experience. Korean own, nice place and clean. Sushi chef was nice. I asked if they served Ankimo and I was shocked that they did. It prepared it well. Paid $ 14.95(most I ever paid) for it, which is almost double the price of everywhere I’ve gone. Been craving it so since I was shocked a place in San Leandro had it, wasn’t worried and it was actually good. I ordered a Chirashi. This is why they received a 3 star. It was small portions. After looking at other photos on here or other Chirashi, mine looked like left over fish. Small pieces that are the end to the cut. So I was a bit disappointed but wasn’t going to ruin anything. We also ordered a simple roll which was enjoyed. But, we will return because I had the chance to meet the owner and she was very nice. Found out she too lived in Japan for awhile. She was very open to my experience and was very kind. All-in– all, service wasn’t bad like many people claim. Looking forward to coming back to taste other Japanese food on the menu besides the sashimi. Be right back…

My go to sushi spot. Impeccable service! Favorite dish to order is the spicy ball. I’m not a big tuna fan but with the avocado and sauces you can’t really taste the tuna. I’ve probably ordered everything on the menu. If I’m not on the mood for sushi, I’ll order the galbi entre or the udon. You really can’t go wrong with the menu. Everything is delicious!

Edit from 3÷26÷16 This place is still a great place to eat, a much better place to order to go for since it almost seems they prioritize that over people eating in. The only problem I have with this place is the service is extremely slow, both times it took forever to get our order and this weekend it took about ten minutes to get seated when there was an open table available. If I could give this place a 4.5 I would because they are very nice and accommodating. They gave us two free appetizers this time, I assume for the extra long wait and although I’m leaning towards giving them a 4 star instead of 5 I think their customer service and food quality makes up for the wait. Original post: Came here with my boyfriend when I was randomly craving sushi and so happy we ended up here! Bento box comes with three items, miso soup and salad(with cucumber slices in it!). Free vegetarian gyoza from the shop(I noticed some got free edamame instead). Sashimi was good and well sized. Tempura was perfect and my boyfriend loved the sauce saying it added a very light but not too strong it changed the taste of the vegetable(I eat mine with wasabi and soy sauce so I wouldn’t know). They gave a lot of chicken katsu and it was perfectly fried. Just thinking about it is making me hungry again… California rolls were yummy, no complaints. Beef teriyaki was okay but I’m not a fan in general so opinion invalid. Hot sake took the longest to come out but was the perfect heat when it finally came. Staff was really friendly. Will definitely come again with my boyfriend since he lives nearby. Yummy.

If you are ever craving for real authentic Japanese Food, this spot will surely hit the spot. This is where I go all the time with my friends from work. We always get complimentary Edamame, salad, gyoza, or Miso Soup. I always get their 1. Kamikaze Roll 2. Crazy Monkey Roll 3. Lion King Roll 4. Shrimp Tempura Appetizer I get the same thing all the time and its always soooo good. Im here almost every Payday Friday.

I consider myself a regular at this place. By far they have the best ‘Lion King’ roll out of all the places I’ve been to. I also love their half and half lunch combo(half size udon and half size sushi bowl) for $ 12.95; good portion, good price, and taste good :) During dinner they often have complimentary seaweed and gyozas. I think kids get complimentary cup of ice cream with the meal, because my son always get one.

Came here for lunch, at first, the only lady seemed to have been inundated and it took about 15 minutes to order. Food came out quickly, loved the Ten Zaru — the soba noodles were perfect; the vegetable tempura was decent, but the shrimp was funny tasting. Oh, had to try the hamachi sashimi, it was great, will be back to take my daughter here too. Most of the staff were friendly, but the sushi chef didn’t crack a smile the whole time I was there, still the hamachi was great.

This place is hella crackin’! And I see why. Sushi is was so bomb, my kids loved the bento boxes & loved the edamame. Come a little early, there isn’t much parking spaces but who cares?! The food was one hunnit! Service was great as well:-)

This is my favorite sushi place in the east bay. Plus if you know Patrick Landeza then you shoukd Get the Patrick Sushi. Yeah he has a sushi named after him. It has a happy hour and a TV to watch the game. Complimentary edamame. The sushi is really tasty. I also like their Tuna salad.

I’ve come here tons of times and the sushi has always been great. Their rolls are a good portion and great to share. But let’s face it, the service is awful. It usually takes 30 minutes to be served even if a sushi roll on a Tuesday afternoon. I’m pretty much over it. And you wanna know what did it for me? Today, I was served uncooked chicken in my chicken salad… after waiting 20 minutes. Since they weren’t cooking the chicken, why’d I have to wait so long? Not coming back.

This is the closet sushi place close to my parents house. I would have rated this place as 2.5 stars so I just rounded up. It was not crowded when we got there. We asked about their happy hour and it was only select beers at $ 1.95, beer pitcher was $ 8 but does not include hot sake… bummer! At least, it’s till 6:30p. The waiter barely knew what was on happy hour or knew my questions about their menu as it was a little vague in what it includes. He had to keep asking the cooks… kinda annoying. We received a complimentary deep fried calamari. It was pretty good. My dad asked to serve his lemonade drink with the main meal cuz he hates the ice melting. They served it with our Gyozo appetizer! I had to laugh cuz they didn’t listen to him. We got out dishes pretty fast though. Both my dad and I got the Chirashi. It was pretty good but it was not the freshest. I have had real fresh fish before. We had nigiri eel, hamachi roll and my mom got a her roll. Hers was better. My beer needed refills and my mom wanted more tea but they never came back. The place started to fill up so I guess they forgot us since we sat on the side of the sushi bar. We never even got water but I understand we are trying to conserve but I was thirsty! Been here about two other times and still the same…
