Was passing through SLO and craving some good pizza. Some of the Unilocal reviews led me to Pizza Solo. At first, it wasn’t easy to find, as it is in the middle of a shopping center and my maps app kept telling me I had arrived. When I saw the sign in between one of the walkways I found a quick spot and went to order my pizza for takeout. I had the Bowser’s Pizza and it was delicious! The sriracha gave it that nice kick, and the pepperoni had nice flavor to it. The chicken was a little bland but other than that, a delicious pizza! I’d definitely have it again, just sad I don’t live closer. My girlfriend had the Florentine Pizza and added goat cheese. She said there was a little too much spinach, and it overpowered the rest of the pizza a bit, but other than that she thought it was okay. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area and looking for some good pizza.

I raised my review for one great reason. The owner replied to my concern and addressed the issue. I am very happy to recommend this place and its owner for doing a great job.

Delicious. Try the bowser or valentina for a kick. The solo size can be made as a calzone, and it’s well worth the time.

Food is ok, but the menu prices have gone up. The lunch special for a normal cal zone cost me $ 10.75

This place is pretty delicious. I’m a pizza guy, could eat pizza probably everyday, and I’ve done that but people get kinda annoyed when you only want pizza. Anywho this place is great, the pesto pizza is amazing. A lot of vegetarian options. They’re typically pretty fast too. If you’re new to slo and need a pizza place try this place out!

I bought a groupon and was so excited once I read all about what they were about. They seemed to be into their ingredients and food but the pizza was very dissapointing. It did not seem any special at all. My husband ordered a vegetarian one and the vegetables were not good at all. For a pizza place advertising local sourced ingredients and locally owned it was very dissapointing.

Solo pesto and Guido pizzas were both excellent. Chicken club salad was great. Guy at the counter was easygoing, friendly and on top of it. I’ll def go back.

I’ve been coming to Pizza Solo since it opened several years ago. I’ve always been highly satisfied especially with the quality of ingredients and customer service. I especially like the lunch specials. Today our pizza took a little longer than usual and staff member Brock Allen went above and beyond with customer service and offered us a $ 5 gift certificate. This will ensure that we will be back. Thanks Pizza Solo.

It’s a small place. Probably just a few more tables inside than there is outside. The large pizzas we ordered weren’t huge like how they are when you order from Domino’s, Papa Murphy’s, etc. on game day, but they are just enough to share between three people. I personally ordered the pear & walnut salad(full size). The base was spinach and came with feta cheese, candied walnuts, chopped slices of pear, dried cranberries, and had a balsamic dressing on the side. It was only a tad bigger than the half salad(the half is $ 2 less). I was full off of my salad and half a slice of pizza. The pizza here definitely tastes more homemade, but other than that, it’s not incredibly special. If you want more variety you should go to California Pizza Kitchen right next door. Otherwise, if you aren’t looking for anything fancy and want more of a casual atmosphere, Pizza Solo might be the better option.

This 5 star isn’t given easily. I am a connoisseur of delicious foods so when I say the food was great & the customer service was fantastic… It was exactly that. I questioned the young man at the counter helping us if he owned the place because his customer service was so professional & personable. Thank you Brock(hope I’m spelling that right)! I had the margherita pizza & pear salad which I have actually eaten other places but enjoyed it twice as much here. My son had the Hawaiian pizza & classic Caesar & he had no complaints. We are fairly new to the area & I think we found a favorite spot. Thank you!

I stopped in this evening and grabbed a pizza solo and a drink. I ordered the pizza with feta, spinach, tomatoes, and chicken. The pizza was tasty; just enough bitterness to not be overbearing. The service was prompt and the staff was helpful. I’ll be back again within the week to try one of their salads.

Veggie Calzone — olives, mushrooms, basil and tomato. its good. Problem is, I use to go here in college and it use to be better. Fresher veggies. Topped with fresh basil. It’s definitely not as fresh as it use to be. But still good. Still reasonably priced if you get a pre-set pizza. I always want to build my own, but that gets a little costly, so I also just stick to veggie.

I’ve enjoyed pizza in Naples Italy, at various USA«Vera Pizza Napolitana»(the best of the best designation given by Italian Government) and Canada from New York, Boston, Las Vegas, LA, Vancouver and Victoria BC, so I know good pizza. This pizza is pretty darn good. I enjoyed my marguerita pizza, it had more generous toppings then I think it needed but the ingredients were fresh and cooked well. Not a 5, but not bad at all. I’d visit again and have another.(A 5 is for the best of the best). I’d 5 the service, friendly staff, clean facility, pleasant location. Great price too. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Lived in SLO for 4 years, but only made it Pizza Sole once and can’t say I remember it. I was passing through and found a coupon deal, so went back. Good simple pizza with a lot of options and great value for artisan style pizzas. My socks weren’t knocked off, but my gremlins were happy. Easy to get to, easy to park(if you’re a SLOcal), order at the counter, party on wayne. I’d go back some time eventually again.

Been here too many times to count, so I probably owe a review at this point. Been coming in for several years as a Cal Poly student and I’ve never had an experience I could call bad. Excellent variety, nice portions with prices to match, generally friendly and accommodating staff, food is always presented well, flavorful, and prepared properly. Best pizza in SLO? Maybe not, but it’s close, and the overall experience is dependably great. Definitely come in if you get the chance. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

I’ve been to Pizza Solo twice recently and both times I was thoroughly impressed. The first time we ordered the Garlic Chicken pizza and the second time we got the BBQ Chicken pizza. Both pizzas were awesome! I have yet to find another place that offers pizza THAT good for THAT cheap! We order the«Large» pizza and it is enough food for myself, my wife, and our two year old… for $ 14! Can’t beat it!

3.5 stars I ate here with a few friends a few weekends ago. We had a good experience. The staff were friendly and I like the personal pizza sizes. The breadsticks were fabulous. I tried one of the beers on tap which was tasty too. I am very picky about pizza and I live in San Francisco, which does make me a bit of a food snob. This place is great for what it is– a college town pizza joint. But in general the pizza crust is just ok. The toppings were really great, but overall just seemed like the wrong ratio of crust– sauce– cheese– toppings and was overly focused on crust.

Pleasantly surprised by this pizza joint! I had the Solo Pesto Pizza which comes with pesto, mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, pine nuts, goat cheese and parmesan. It was the perfect combination of ingredients! Great flavors and textures. My friend ordered the Bowser pizza which comes with sriracha ranch, pepperoni, mozzarella, chicken and bacon. Another genius combo. Highly recommend both of these pizzas. I usually never eat crust but their pizzas have delicious chewy, yet crispy thin crusts. Can’t wait to come back to try their spelt crust and other wild pizzas!

I would probably rate this place higher if I got another kind of pizza. My friends and I shared a large White Clam and Bacon pizza. We were excited because it said it had clams and it was made with clam juice, and we in the mood for clams! When the pizza came out and we tried our first bite, we barely tasted any clams. We were wondering what was on the pizza actually because it was so cheesy(though don’t get me wrong, the cheese wasn’t bad). We tried to pick out the clams and eat them, but they didn’t taste like clams… so I guess we were expecting at least some clam flavors in the pizza. I think the bacon on the pizza definitely overpowered the«clam taste» of the pizza, so that may be why. However, the crust of the pizza was pretty good. Overall, if you’re looking to relive that«SF clam» taste, don’t come here because you won’t get it by ordering the White Clam and Bacon pizza. However, I think I would come back and try their other pizzas since the crust was pretty good. The price of the large pizza wasn’t bad, and it was good enough for the 4 of us to share. Definitely not a bad place to hit up if you’re in the area.
