Of course I have to get a sandwich from here it’s the only place I know that has gluten free bread and can give me the same taste as if I were still eating good old fashion bread! Highly recommended whether you’re gluten free or not!

Couldn’t give 5 stars because my sandwiches were warm, not hot. Since I ordered when I arrived it should be hot. The sandwiches are still really good though but not as good as the San Francisco location. Seems like the sauce isn’t as flavorful. Plus, the chips, lollipop, and soda are free with the sandwich in San Fran, they only give you the lollipops free :( But I’m not reviewing based on free things, my review is based on the taste of what I bought :) And Ike’s sandwiches are still delicious even when warm because it’s that good :) haha

Had a tony soprano made by Mike. It was so good. I had avocado, pickles, peppers and more.

Soooo good!!! We got 2 different sandwiches, sorry I can’t remember the name, my hubby with turkey and mine was with pastrami, I also opted for the gluten free bread! The service was super fast and the guy at the cash register super friendly. We definitely will go back to try other interesting combinations!

Ike’s sandwiches are the best. Amazing signature sauces, fantastic Dutch crunch bread, and a great variety of sandos! Also, the portions are huge!

Still not answering the phone. I come here less and less because it’s not as convenient. Sandwiches are generally still very good but I can’t figure out why you would continue to have take out issues. Management — get some more staff or train the folks that work here to actually answer the phone.

I wasn’t too impressed with this place, I guess I expected more based on the reviews I’ve read. Sandwiches we’re a little pricey and you have to pay for any additional sauces like BBQ. The meat portion isn’t proportional to the bread(dutch crunch was really good though) and the lettuce over powered everything. I’m willing to give it another try if we’re in the area but I won’t be coming here just to come.

How lucky did I get today? I was on my way to the airport and was going to make a pit stop at another sandwich place in San Mateo for my in flight meal. I spotted Ike’s while I was in traffic, heading to the other spot. I haven’t been to Ike’s since I lived in the Bay Area 5 years ago. I used to go to the one in The Mission, and their sammy’s were bomb! I popped in, and while it took me a while to order(so many options!!) the person who took my order was VERY patient. I decided on the Matt Cain(roast beef, beef salami, turkey, and some other tasty stuff) and it was delicious! I’m mid-air now, and I just ate my sandwich. My tummy is thanking me and the guy next to me is totally jelly ;-) I’m so glad about this location. They will see me again during one of my frequent visits to the Bay Area :-)

This sandwich shop seems to have some cool vibes. I got the spiffy Tiffy sandwich, it was so bomb, I think it’s my new favorite sandwich, I’m already craving it! if you’re in the area, you definitely should check out their sandwiches.

I’ve heard my friends talk about Ike’s many times and I’ve never made it to the one in LA. We came here for lunch today and it was sooooo good! The guy that helped us was extremely nice and helpful. Since I had never been there, I was kind of picky and he was more than patient with me. The sandwiches were SO good. I had originally ordered the«Barry Bonds» but wanted to add avocado and sub Provolone for Swiss. At the end, the cashier let me know to order the«756»(number of home runs BB had) next time because it was cheaper and that it was a «secret item» on the menu. The sandwiches were very fresh and really filling. Everything about the sandwich was SO good and it was very filling. I wish we had Ike’s in Orange County.

I went back again and I can vouch for it fully that this place is excellent. That dutch crunch bread is super good. This time I had the Eric Wright aka Eazy E and the Nacho Boy sandwich. They were both really good. I think the Nacho Boy was the spicy one, which the spiciness I loved. I loved them both tho pretty much equally. Definitly got my share of caramel pops too ha. The service was super good coming in this time also. They have a cult following and I’ve just joined the cult and will be coming here regularly.

I would have given the establishment just 3 stars, but the sandwiches were so darn delicious, this place deserves the additional star. Located in a tiny little plaza next to a Mediterranean place, a taqueria, and a 7 – 11, it can be easily missed, but the giant banner out front points you in the right direction. Once inside, I was surprised to see what little seating they had. It was really warm too, so the boyfriend and I decided to sit outside where they had 2 tables. Unfortunately the tables and chairs were quite cheap and old in my opinion. Wasn’t clean either. Boyfriend decided on the 49ers: Chicken, buffalo wing sauce, honey mustard, and cheddar. Really good! I got the Jared’s Galleria of Meatballs: All beef meatballs, bacon, onion rings, BBQ sauce, sriracha, and cheddar. REALLY really good. Surprisingly good actually. I randomly decided on this sandwich and wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did. I highly recommend their Famous Dutch Crunch as a bread choice! In my eyes, no other bread exists. All sandwiches are served hot unless otherwise specified. Free upon request: Lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, banana peppers, jalepenos. Add ons for extra: Avocado, bacon, grilled mushrooms, extra meat or cheese, variety of sauces, cucumbers, onion rings. All sandwiches can be made vegetarian apparently. They had a huge selection of drinks as well as chips and dessert. I was very much tempted to get myself a slice of cake… but resisted the urge(maybe next time)! Bottom line: Sandwiches were absolutely amazing and I would definitely come back, if I was taking them to-go of course. It’s a shame the establishment looks and feels so run down because that was the only down side.

I love Ike’s. I have been to 5 other locations and this one is as good as the others. It’s nice that they have more comfortable seating(most other places have bar like seating and those backless stools aren’t much comfortable). I usually get the manage. It is the best there. My only gripe they charge for everything– I asked for some extra bbq sauce and they charged extra. Extra onions– more charge. My sandwich ended up being more than $ 12. Pretty expensive for a sandwich.

I appreciate the effort of putting out some vegan options, but why would you bother if they just taste bad ? First off, be ready to wait a very long time. I was waiting 20 minutes for 2 sandwiches(the pickup orders have for some reason a higher priority) and the result was just disappointing. The sandwich was bland, greasy with some weird soy meat substitute. I ate a half of it and the other half ended up in the trash. Not coming back for sure.

Great place for picking up a quick lunch. I come here at least once a week. My favorite sandwich is the Bill Walsh(Turkey, avocado & havarti) on dutch crunch. The price is reasonable($ 7.99) and the sandwich is huge. I love that they toast it too. There are so many menu options to choose from that it can be overwhelming so I just stick with what I know. The parking lot can be annoying. It is always full during lunch. And there are always sketchy people just hanging around along the wall. It gets kinda creepy for a lady parking alone. I am not sure if it is the 7-eleven or the donut shop that attracts these people to hang around all day here.

Glad to see there’s an Ike’s in the area! Was driving by and saw Ike’s so I stopped and had to get a sandwich. Luckily there were only 2 people in line ahead of me, unlike Ike’s original SF location where the line would be 15 deep. I ordered 2 sammiches: the Hollywood cheesteak and the Lincecum. The sandwiches were really big and they put a generous amount of meat and toppings which made the sandwich so much better, unlike their Serramonte location where they hardly put anything in the sandwich. It makes a huge difference! The place is clean and the setup is nice with about 4 or 5 tables inside. Will be back when I’m in the area.

Parking can be challenging since they have a small lot that is shared w/711 and some other restaurants there. After experiencing Ike’s at Serramonte I needed a recalibration of a REAL Ike’s sandwich! Ordered over online from Unilocal and it was rather painless since they got the order right. I ordered Skogee The Kaveman Sandwich w/banana peppers and pickles and it was what I remember it to be! A nice portion of meat, fresh bread, some lettuce and care made w/the sandwich. Staff was friendly and polite when I came to pickup my sandwich. Clean and plenty of room to eat at the different tables inside the place. Happily satisfied and will be back for more!

I was a hungry bear so I made a special trip to come here at 12:30 pm on a weekday, and was told that they were closing down the store because they ran out of bread. You guys are a sandwich shop. Running out of bread should not be an option! Especially at critical lunch times! Another sad customer said that they run out of bread all the time. Right before he walked out to get food elsewhere. I know«protein style» works for In N Out, but I don’t believe that is an option on your menu. As a meat eater myself, I would suggest adding that option or just getting more bread.

I ordered 3 sandwiches over the phone. All sandwiches had very little meat on them for paying $ 9/sandwich. Very dissapointing, even Subway gives you more meat than Ike’s. Lots of lettuce and condiments, had to dig to find the meat. They also put tomatoes when I asked for none, and forgot the cheese. Really??? The bread was also soggy and not at all crunchy. Will not be coming back ever.

I have to confess that this was my first«One Night Stand,» and not only did I have to pay for her, but she was on sale too! But man, was it worth it. Lots of pastrami and Ike’s dirty sauce with avocado, coleslaw, and of course Frank’s hot sauce to make this one night stand spicy! Best of all, no wining and dining at a Michelin Star restaurant. I guess that means no strings attached right? This is the beginning of a great relationship!
