I don’t usually go into this store and today was a good example of why. I walk in to buy specific shirts I saw online but didn’t want to wait for (J.Jill shipping takes a long time — a least a week but sometimes weeks). So I’ve already checked it out online and found a coupon at
for $ 20 off an $ 80 purchase and it worked online. (I abandoned the online sale right before confirmation.)
So I go into the store, pick up the shirts, go to the register and ask to use my electronic coupon. After looking over my 3 items, no one item totals $ 80, so the saleswoman says she’ll take the coupon but she’s going to ring up every item idividually otherwise, «you’ll get too much off». Uhhh, coupon is $ 20, that’s all I get dummy.
I’m the only customer in the store. It was the same last week when I was here, and half the merchandise in the store is double marked down because their fall clothes come in next week and this stuff is sitting, but this gal is bent on not honoring a coupon that’s completely legit! So annoying. DON’T PUT THE COUPONS OUT IF YOU WON’T HONOR THEM!!!
Needless to say, I left empty handed deciding to buy online. The thing is, I had to walk through Nordstroms to get to my car and I found 3 shirts prettier than those at J. Jill and got them all for half the price of the J. Jill shirts. (Nordstrom is having their half yearly sale!)

This is like the heaven for linen clothing.
They have the best linens and the best colors. Its like Eileen Fisher, except you can afford it.
The cuts and sized are great and the style is evergreen.
Love love love this place and their style of clothes!

This store is all about customer service.
I went in a couple of weeks ago and the saleswoman helped me choose tops that I wouldn’t have tried on my own. I was totally surprised with her choices and now have a couple of new items in my wardrobe. Yeah!
Brought a friend in on Saturday and noticed a lot of new clothes on the racks. The manager helped my friend select a few items that surprised us both. We had a lot of laughs with the manager as we tried on clothes. My friend left with a great new jacket that she loves. Gotta say, it was a fun afternoon.

My mom and I love J. Jill when they have color. Today we walked in and it was like being in an ink drawing. Blue, gray, white. That’s it. Sigh.
The staff was super friendly though and the store is nice, but the clothes right now are uninspiring and to my taste, have been for about a year. Maybe in the spring they will have some nice pastels or something.
