My favorite pizza place in the bay area! The cheese and pepperoni pizzas are so good! It is a little pricey, but it it totally worth it! I recommend coming here for their lunch special because it is a great deal and a perfect amount of food!

Great beer selection Poured a mean jack and Coke The wings were AWESOME Garlic chips(pizza dough, garlic and cheese and toppings) was good. I mean, what’s not to like about bread, cheese and garlic? Got to watch the Warriors win! Next time will order pizza and update my review.

Although it may be pricey the pizza is awesome! I’m a big fan of the BBQ chicken pizza and I always spilt it between some friends. I see a wide arrange of different people here and I think that’s due to the fact that everyone seems to like it here. I’ve been loving it here since its been open and I don’t see that changing anytime soon!

Still the best pizza, BUT they definitely need someone, anyone to clean up the place. It is very dirty. The last 2 times we’ve came in we had to clean our own table. And watch where you walk.

If you’re ordering pizza, it’s more like a plate of grease with some cheese and crust thrown on there. I think this place is still up because of the amount of teenagers that live in the area and this is the most local pizza place here. This whole restaurant is mainly staffed by local high schoolers, meaning all your orders are cooked by high schoolers that don’t really care all too much. The service here is always either hit or miss depending on who you get and pizza here is below average. Cheese pizza is very cheesy but it has a complete layer of grease on top. I have to use up multiple napkins to try and blot off as much grease as possible. Pepperoni pizza is even worse because when the pepperoni is baked, it curls over and creates little bowls full of grease, which for me, is not very appetizing. Flavor of the crust is decent though. The only reason why I gave two stars is because of the mozzarella sticks and the curly fries. They are surprisingly not that greasy even though they are the actual items that are fried. I feel like portions here have become smaller while the prices have gone higher due to new ownership. Pretty pricey for kind of sucky food.

Because I’m new to the neighborhood, I was hoping this would be my pizza spot since it’s so close to my house. Unfortunately, the dough was tasteless and maybe pre-frozen. Combined with the price of a pie, we won’t be back. It’s quite a bummer!

Ascona used to be my go-to for pizza and a few brews. The bartenders were nice and the food was good. Unfortunately, my last two visits, and the owner’s son, mean I will never patronize this establishment again. I saw this jack hole yell at a few high-school employees on the floor over asking a simple question. I also watched him wait one minute to get me another beer so I wouldn’t get happy hour prices. Without new management, this place is better off closed.

Decent pizza, good beer selection, lots of TV’s — not a bad spot overall. 3 stars

$ 23 for a very small«large» pizza + $ 3.25 additional toppings that were virtually non existent and crust tasted like frozen dough. $ 7.50 for a very small«regular» caesar salad that was simply a handful of romaine with a few croutons. With 2 beers and 2 sodas, $ 70 dollars to feed to feed family of four bad pizza and salad, will never go back again!

Lunch deal is good, size is ¼ large pizza with a soda. Around $ 7 to 8 depends on toppings. The pizza is fresh from oven. The wait is around 15 mins, most customers are parents with kids off from school.

I would not recommend Ascona the owners son is a complete idiot. He’s rude to the customers and the employees. It’s no wonder they are severely understaffed and can’t keep employees. I had to wait for an hour Saturday night for my pizza. The staff was very apologetic but I don’t think I will ever go back. The pizza is very expensive, so good service and friendly people are key.

OVERPRICED pizza! The worst service I’ve ever had in my entire life. The owner is extremely rude and he is not afraid to show it. Can not believe this place is still open and has not failed like Maui Burger and Fat Cactus did! Ugh, this owner needs to change careers!

I’ve done nothing but give this place great reviews and recommendations. Not anymore. Rude service today. By cashier and guys in the back. No sense of humor and very condescending. I will not stand for it. Lighten the hell up! And saw me with my kids, yet left my drinks on the bar, helped the next couple bring their drinks to the table. Absolutely unacceptable. I will be sure to tell everyone I know. Your pizza isn’t that good that you can treat people like that. You lost a loyal customer for being a douche.

Overpriced with horrid customer service! Seriously, $ 22.00 for a large pizza with $ 3.25 per topping??? The $ 22.00 is only cheese . It’s pizza and pizza places are a dime a dozen… even Mt. Mikes has servers that will come to the table and ask if you need anything. This place dropped off the pizza… had to go get the drinks myself… and that was it. We will not return.

Great pizza ! Friendly atmosphere. Very spacious and modern. I love the shopping center location as well. My only objection is that it’s very pricy and that’s why I give it 4 stars. But will return here.

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! I didn’t dine in so the review is based solely off of the food. My S.O. decided to show me this place because he said it’s the best pizza he’s ever had. He ordered a large(16″) Matterhorn, about $ 29 without tax. The Matterhorn is a combo pizza, consists of pepperoni, ham, sausage, mushrooms, olives, onions & bell peppers. The pizza was heavy when we carried it out of the restaurant and smelled soooo good! When I took my first bite the cheese was oozing, which is how a pizza should be! Definitely generous on the toppings and super good tomato sauce. Only con is how expensive the pizza was. Definitely worth coming back again!

A happy patron since opening back when I was in highschool down the street, I can agree with some of the other reviewers negative points: prices are pretty steep, heavy on the grease, and wait time can be long. But I stay loving Ascona’s and a faithful customer due to the quality and consistently delicious pizza. Prices are higher than most average pizza places, but the pizzas are above average in the ingredients they use and the great not-overpowering flavor of garlic on the crust. My personal favorite is franzi’s(basil shrimp), while my brother always goes for the pepperoni that bake into unique little cupped shapes. Granted, each pepperoni cup pools with grease, but pizza isn’t exactly known for its health benefits anyways. Wait time can be long dining in, so we take it to go 90% of the time, no problems there. No gripes about service, location, or parking.
