3.5 stars. Gave this place a second shot since it supposedly has a new chef. Ordered the same item as last time(chicken biriyani) and I gotta admit that I was pleasantly surprised when I took a bite and found it to actually be flavorful this time around! Rice wasn’t as dry as last time either. Still counted only 4 pieces of meat in the dish, but this time around the pieces were bigger(including one drumstick) and tasted a lot better. 3.5 stars for the Biriyani! Décor could be improved a bit and the parking lot seems tiny — not that it has been an issue on my two visits as I haven’t seen more that 2 people dinning at this place at the same time — maybe they get busier during the lunch buffet hours?

Great veggie biriyani. Good for a Togo. Not great to be dine in there. The heat and the no Ac /fan make it worse. But, didn’t mind that much after tasting their biriyani. Good portions for 2 people.

Well, made a poor decision of picking up lunch at this place today. Got veg fried rice & tandoori chicken — both stunk, especially the fried rice. Oily, tasteless, trashed it after a few bites. Should’ve not gone for it based on the fact that the drive thru was empty during peak lunch hour. Learnt a lesson, next time will check Unilocal reviews before I venture to new locations.

Im not sure what the other Unilocaler is saying when he said that the drive thru is for phone orders only. I drove up a few days ago, placed my order at the speaker box and drove around to get my food. Now for the truth. I ordered the Chicken Tikki Masala(pic posted) and I seriously thought I was missing something. Talk about a tiny tiny serving… for the price. The rice was regular white rice, and the masala was a little spicy. The naan was not wonderful.(the restaurant before Bay Biryani had wonderfullll naan). Anyway… I wanted to love this place. I LOVE Indian food and I love drive-thru’s… but I just wasnt impressed with the food, the portion or the fact that I had to wait almost 10 minutes in my car. I MIGHT come here again, just to see if anything changes once they get more established and if need be, I will update my review.

OK, look: if you advertise drive-through cuisine? And have a sign at the beginning of that drive-through, listing the foods that you sell? Folks will infer that they can roll on up to that drive-through, place their order, and have tasty foods in their mitts within a couple minutes’ time. «Oh, no, the drive through is only for pre-placed phone orders» will not placate anyone. Neither will«eh, let’s just not talk to anyone at the drive-through window to set things straight; they’ll figure it out.» These are both lessons that Bay Biryani could learn. I was one of those«wait at the drive-through window, like a total shmuck» individuals. Spent five minutes there, surfing around on my cellphone, trying to figure out if they were closed on Sundays, or attending to drive-through customers was against some deep-seated religious underpinning, or what have you. Never did figure out why no one gave me a heads-up at the drive-through window. Never did get myself a meal there on that day, come to think of it. Only got to review the foodstuffs from this place by visiting at a future time. And as for those foodstuffs: eh, they were fine. Nothing fancy. There weren’t pillowy beds of fluffy white rice for me to fawn over. I didn’t get a biryani chock full of moist chunks of protein, sating my palate. It was straight-up fast food, Indian style. Which is fine, and a nice change of pace! But still, I have to rate them by conventional metrics… and they just weren’t anything special. For another two or three bucks, I could get some really bad-ass biryani at any number of nearby sit-down restaurants.(Indian cuisine is not exactly a rare commodity in the South Bay.) Or I could have sprung for a full-on Indian buffet, for that matter. Either of which would have been superior approaches to visiting this place. It was a mediocre offering, at a première price, without any of the convenience one might have striven for. I feel bad for trashing a place that should really be embodying a lights-out local concept… but until they turn things around, it’s just not my cup of tea.

I was a bit leery as there was no one in the place. Then again peeps eat late:) Went for the goat biryani and a soda. Was a couple more bucks than another very popular fave for biryani but this one was more spot on that others I have had out. Nicely spiced, and a kick for sure. Goat was very tender and the rice was fresh. Raita is included. It’s enough for two and wish there was one more egg in it but no worries. Not sure if they do a lunch buffet but saw a buffet stand. Has a drive thru but I am sure you call in your order and drive thru to pick it up:) The biryani’s average around $ 9.99 per order.

I was driving around and saw this place«Indian Fast Food, drive thru». It’s actually not a drive thru like Taco bell, Burger king, you need order before otherwise they will make you wait. Also price is not like fast food, only good thing is tasty food.

Loved the naan! The tandoori chicken was so tender and delicious too. Price was reasonable and service was great. On the run? There’s a drive-thru too! How often can you get specialty food at a drive-thru? Yeah, that’s what I thought… They have a set up for a buffet lunch soon if they haven’t already. I’ll be back.

I was less impressed with the biriyani but the Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter chicken are both good(and slightly less indistinguishable) and come with naan. Update(7÷12÷2013): Since my original review, they have upped their prices and it’s now less bang for the buck than my earlier review.

Tried their veggie biryani last week for lunch. The portion was huge, and it was quite oily. What I didn’t feel though was an authentic biryani taste, it just felt like fried vegetable rice to me. Their lassi was really pathetic and the entire place was sweltering hot in the summer afternoon, no air conditioning in sight(even if it existed, it went working). Not going there again unless I am starving to death.

This is a new drive thru that opened up in our area The lady who works there, Natasha, is very nice and helpful We have ordered the chicken & lamb biriyani and the chicken tikka, all very tasty A very simple menu They package everything in a very sturdy box and wrap the containers with plastic wrap. They give you so much chicken biriyani that we eat it for lunch the next day We also love the green hot sauce

Today was my first visit to May Biryani. Tried Chicken fried rice. for indian flavor. but quality was very poor. Rice and chicken was bit hard and it was not deeply fried. I was very disappointed. I had to through it to dust bin :(

Their nan is terrific ! Chicken tikka marsala sauce is just right for spicy eater like me! Chicken meat is a little too tough and overcook. Their take out box is pretty fancy and sturdy, I am surprise by the amount of money I paid that come with a fancy take out box. The place is sparkling clean and kudos to the owners who do a good job in cleanliness!

Food is very good I try the butter chicken and rice, large platters. I LOVE the drive thru because I’m handicapped and it will take me between 5 to 7 minutes to get my walker and cane out of the van. The service is very friendly. Next tine I’m going to try the chicken fried rice.
