For the Rivermark location: I’ve eaten here almost a dozen times. It’s just minutes from where I live. I always order the beef teriyaki. My dad orders the Saba. My mom is the only one who orders something different every time. The food has been consistent. The beef teriyaki is always good, it’s never been overcooked but tender and juicy. Same for the Saba. Mom has ordered the tempura, Sea Bass, Shrimp. No complaints. Service is good. We have always been seated quickly and the servers are attentive and friendly, even when it was busy. Downside… it is slightly pricey but not too bad. The desserts are the only thing subpar. The Chocolate trio tasted old.

yucky– I am sorry, but I felt sick after eating at Yo-yo :(it wasn’t very fresh and it was just not good quality raw sushi. To me this is scary, I could have had food poisoning had I ate the wrong fish :/

Sushi didn’t taste fresh. Rice to fish ratio was off, there was a lot more rice.

This place doesn’t open on time. If a sign says 11am why am I waiting outside of the business while they’re still mopping and prepping sushi? Say 11:30 then, it’s very important that businesses open when they say so because people have limited lunch hours. I don’t appreciate them making eye contact with me and not giving me an update. That can totally change it all, talk to your customers people!!! They looked at me three times. I decided to leave after waiting 15min. On a side note their sushi isn’t that good, it’s poor quality I was just I’m the area.

It was my first time there and I plan to go back for more! The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive, and the food was fresh, full of flavor, and well balanced. We were early for our SC Convention event, and took the opportunity to visit the close-by restaurant. The place was attractive, clean, and the noise level was low, even considering that it filled up as noon approached: we did not even realize that the place was packed, until we finished and started making our way out! The other patrons were also clearly enjoying themselves — it was a nice, clean décor, but it felt like they were all at home also enjoying the service and the food. In addition to very fine green tea and the perfectly done edamame, we had three menu items — even though were were full after two!. All three were excellent and recommendable — what I recall especially are the requisite, but nicely flavorful Dragon roll and their exquisite Sashimi YoYo. Great for a quick lunch, as well as for a lingering, relaxing experience. Plan is to go back and try more of their offerings, including dinner ;-0

FOOD: the gyoza wasn’t crunchy how I’m used to. They seemed steamed then pan fried which I’m sure is healthier but if you prefer more crunch then don’t order them but the wrap was thin at least like gyoza is usually made. Fisherman roll was yummy. No raw for me so anything baked such as this roll is for me. The salmon wasn’t excessively fishy so I know it was fresh enough and cooked through. Hot tea tasted good it was a rice tea. STAFF: only two other parties there and two people working. Server was attentive so no complaints on service. She took our drink orders and kept an eye out for when we looked ready to order. Took empty plates away. Refilled my tea. The other server said bye and thank you too when we left. TV: two of them but only one was on since half the restaurant was empty. BOATS: not many but it was 5:45 when we got there and it wasn’t busy so to me that’s understandable. OVERALL: ok, not bad, but nothing overly great.

You know it’s already a bad sign when there is barely anyone in the restaurant at 6:30pm on a Saturday and the restaurant is located in a very busy plaza. We chose to sit at the bar and while we were waiting to order, I grabbed a roll only to discover it tasted like cardboard. It no longer tasted fresh as if it had been sitting on the boat for awhile. I ordered a dragon roll and my boyfriend ordered a sashimi dinner. We ordered gyoza as appetizer. Gyoza came out but we didn’t finish the whole thing because the taste was off. My boyfriend complained the sashimi did not taste fresh — the only piece that tasted fresh was the salmon. The dragon roll I ordered tasted pretty dull. It wasn’t terrible but it was definitely below average. Not sure we’d come back again.

The food isn’t that good. Actually, I found it real disappointing. The chicken used for katsu was super dry and my sushi was not worth the price. It was just mush held together with rice basically. I feel like they are way overpriced for such low quality food. I paid 9 dollars for a roll that came with 5 pieces and wasn’t even appetizing. Not going back.

I don’t know what these reviewers want. The service is great, food is fresh, well prepared and presented. We sat in a booth on a Saturday night and were very comfortable. The price is acceptable, very competitive. All in all a very pleasant experience.

oh, God this was bad. I just ate here and I’m quite certain that it’s about to come back up. The rice tasted weird and was a tacky texture. The fish was not fresh and were really cheap cuts. Even the tap water was cloudy. This is one of the very few one star reviews that I have ever written. I wish that I would have asked for my money back. Please, Yo Yo Sushi, do something to save your business before someone gets sick!

Their food is decent. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t overly good either. Just kind of in the middle. HOWEVER, this is why they get 4 stars: Their lunch box came with A LOT of meat. More them most sushi places give, and its about the same price ~11.95. I left super stuffed. The location is really nice. They offer an enjoyable eating atmosphere. Lastly and most importantly, their service ROCKS! The waitress was always so quick to refill our drinks. Even after we finished eating and already paid the bill. She even brought my daughter a free ice cream! I see there are a lot of one star review on the bottom. Perhaps they weren’t good at one point, but maybe they changed because I can’t imagine them deserving a one star from my own personal experience.

I’ve got to say, it wasn’t that good of an experience, although I am happy to say, the waitresses were very nice, attentive, and professional.(I give them 4 stars). They were the best thing going on tonight. I almost hate to write something«tepid», about this establishment, but I have to say something to have good conscious. The food was that side of mediocre. I ordered the beef teriyaki — it was way overcooked, hard, and quite frankly, tastless. The teriyaki glaze tasted straight out of the bottle. The shrimp tempura tasted oily and tasted bland. The dipping sauce tasted out of the bottle too. The dumplings were soggy and tasted like out of a bag. The spicey tuna tasted like it was imitation fish. Wow! Not at all what I expected. What’s going on? The food used to have taste and was allot fresher the last time I came in.(About a month ago). I’d like to say that it was late, near closing, etc., but that would indicate stale food, and no regard for their customers. It was quite pricey considering the quality, or should I say, lack of quality of the food. (Not impressed at all).:(:(:( I truly apologize for my words, but maybe this will give management a wake up call concerning the quality of food they present. Management, please consider my words and make some changes.(Quickly)!!!

I would never come here again! The rice on the sushi was not fresh at all. It kind of smell weird. The price for the sushi is pretty expensive since the type of sushi they serve was not all that great. All six of my rolls felt they were made by quantity over quality. Btw before I left the restaurant, the waitress Diana was talking smack about my girlfriend and I in kantonese.(out loud in the restaurant). NEVER again will I have my business here again, especially for that last part.

Convenient location if your going to the movies. Not a lot of folks eating last night at 7pm. Décor kinda plain. Dimly lit. Staff was nice and attentive. Items ordered: miso soup, salmon roll, yellow tail roll, crunchy roll and crispy yo nuggets. All items were tasty but not mouth watering causing you to want more. Perfect place if your rushing to have dinner before the movie.

I wouldn’t go to this place again ever. The rice didn’t taste very fresh. The texture was as if it was cooked more than 3 hours prior. The wasabi and ginger they provided was also of poor quality. The fish cuts were okay, but not sliced very well. For sushi, this place is fairly expensive. The staff can also take a while to respond to what you might need. I am from Hawaii and have had good good sushi before so I may be biased, but when it comes to sushi, every aspect really does count: the rice, ginger, wasabi, shoyu, fish cuts, etc.

What we got: –Dragon roll –Fisherman roll –Rainbow roll The rolls were not bad at all. Good but not amazing. The service was also good but not amazing. Pretty run of the mill sushi spot. What I highly do NOT recommend is their Chocolate Trio dessert. It tasted like refrigerator. ‘nough said.

Some coworkers took me here while I was on business travel. What I was hoping for was something that would fill my gluttonous needs while satisfying my craving for some sushi. The gluttony part was spot on. The craving was mildly satisfied. I got the Sushi Mix lunch. The size of the sushi was fantastic. I got large cuts and was happy with the portion. I was not ecstatic about the taste of the sushi itself. It didn’t seem as fresh as it could have been since we were so close to the coast. Soup and salad were tasty so no complaints there. Service was as expected in a sushi joint during the lunch rush. Nothing to rave about but at least there wasn’t saliva in my sushi.

$ 120.00 for 3 ppl. 1) Spicy Salmon roll, not fresh they pulled it from the sushi boat line. Not good 2) Nigiri sushi, tuna, hamachi, scallop, salmon. Tuna not good, looked like the cheap est quality where they scrape off the excess fish from bones, add food coloring and reform it. Fish not fresh. Fishy tasting. 3) salad: huge portion, standard bagged salad mix with version of thousand island dressing 4) spinach ohitashi: huge portion, was better than the other dishes. home made with spicach stems. Best item in the lot. Good value. Was ok if you like huge portions at expense of lower quality. Pricey for what we got. Strong in cooked bento box style lunches where things are standard dishes like Chicken Teriyaki. Those dishes are 4 stars for value/quality. Raw fish not good quality. Low end.

Sadly, this place didn’t have a many good reviews but we decided to give it a try anyways because there’s wasn’t much choices at AMC20 mercado(cinema) and we didn’t feel like fast food that day. Food I honestly only tried the nabeyaki chicken & tempura udon($ 14) so I might be biased to how well that one dish was done. I thought it was pretty decent. The udon was thick and chewy! Yummy! The soup base was not too sweet(unlike some others I’ve had before). They also had the good sense to separate the tempura from the soup so it doesn’t get soggy before it came to our table. Service It was pretty good. They kept refilling our tea without us having to ask. Hope to see more people give this place a second chance!

1 reluctant star, strictly for the friendly service alone… The ebi role was so damn mushy, I could’ve dunked it in my glass & sucked it through a thick tapioca straw. Nice visual ehh? I ALWAYS check Unilocal first though on this one ‘rare exception’, I trusted my coworkers suggestion as we’ve had an ‘ok’ experience @ the Rivermark location. Restaurant was HUGE yet there was less than 7 people total during peak lunch hours. This in itself should’ve been a tell-tale sign though we were already through the doors & at the point of no return… I spent 31 mutha-fn-dollars for 1 rainbow roll, 1 salmon skin roll &1 ebi roll. Had I known prior that I’d be shelling out that much cash for defrosted, translucent fishy-smelling sushi, I would’ve happily taken a drive over to Tanto off El Camino Real. Pro’s: 1. Extremely sticky tables. So sticky, they’d have no issues whatsoever stopping ants, roaches & possibly even mice dead in their tracks(keeping them out of your bento box). 2. If you’ve lost all your teeth, get the Ebi roll & have them ‘hold the baby carrot sticks’. If you love soft, mushy sushi, this place will definitely be your cup of tea. Forget the chopsticks & have them serve the sushi in a glass with a straw like a milkshake. Mmmm mmm good… 3. If you want to ‘clean your insides’, order the miso soup as it literally taste like dishwater. If it’s good enough for dishes, surely it’s good enough for your intestinal track… 4. If you’re in a rush, go here as you will be served immediately. No wait & tables galore. 5. If you’ve somehow ingested poison, come to Yo Yo as anything on the menu would be a safe bet to immediately induce vomiting. In case you haven’t already guessed, Yo Yo in itself is a ‘hint’ that what goes down your throat is sure to come back up(& out), just like a yo-yo… Con’s: What con’s? I have nothing but positive things to say…
