El Pollo Loco

Waited in the drive thru line for 25 minutes, ordered the double chicken tostada salad, they give me my bag and I get home to see there was no chicken at all! how does that even happen when the words «Double Chicken» are in the description?! Yeah… not going back to this location and for those of you who choose to use the drive thru here, 1) be prepared to wait… AWHILE and 2) when they hand you your order sit there and go through EVERYTHING to make sure they didn’t mess something up… Especially when you’ve already waited 25 minutes, what’s 2 or 3 more gonna hurt???

Not a lot of parking space, but it shares a big parking lot with the grocery store and the big hamburger chain. The tables and chairs were replaced and it looks much nicer and flows better too. I ordered a shrimp plate but I noticed the rice or beans underneath was quite spicy. I like their chicken items because of the way they’re cooked. But they’ve come out with avocado topped items and shrimp items to vary their menu. I really think their menu on the board needs reorganizing so it’s a diet to read and order.

UNBELIEVABLY HORRIBLE! Expect to wait in drive thru for a minimum of 30 minutes no matter how slow they are and expect to get home with order wrong! UNBELIEVABLE!

Waited in the drive through forever appx 20 min ! My food was basically thrown at me in a rush. He almost forgot my drink. I had to remind him & I didnt get my side salad. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. Who runs this place ??? They are always fucking up !

I didn’t get the burrito or the to tortillas I asked for and no receipt so I can’t complain! Not very satisfied

This place is a JOKE!!! I’ve been here many times and they always miss something in every order. The 6^th time I’ve had to go back because they either forgot my salad, my dressing, my gravy! It’s frustrating and sadly they have no manners. I will contact corporate due the consistent inconvenience this place is. Bad service, worst drive thru and the people that work here except a few talk behind your back in Spanish.

I tried even though it had bad reviews, perhaps something change now, I did like the food, it was clean, and good Service

I was eating my Poblano Chicken burrito that I got from this fine food establishment, when to my surprise, half way into it did I find half a chicken wing bone!!! Sloppy service and a choking hazard. If you like chomping on bones, I highly recommend you eat here!

If not the chicken, I always order the spicy chipotle burrito with the avocado salsa on the side. I’ve never had a mediocre burrito from an El Pollo Loco joint before. There was hardly any spice or flavor to it. I had mostly tortilla than anything else — very little rice, no Chipotle flavor, couple pieces of pinto beans, and little chicken.
Too bad this is the closest El Pollo Loco spot near my house. I guess I pay for convenience!

Fast food restaurant? Not this one. Cashier ran off to help with orders while he had a line of people waiting to order. They give you a device that will alert you when your order is ready, what (FAST) FOOD! restaurant does that? I’d be more patient if I wasn’t here on my lunch but based on the customer service which was also horrible I would never come back to this location.

This place sucks the chicken is dry not juicy I tried the chicken pizza I will add some photos of that so you can see for your self how it was mad.

Really It’s 0 stars for me. Yup!!! Always running out of chicken! The worst location ever!!! The drive thru is at least 30 minutes wait, the staff are not friendly and sarcastic most of the time.

But this location needs a good scrub, it’s messy, tables are not cleaned fast enough and behind the counter looks just dirty

If it’s flame grilled chicken why is it so greasy? Why is there hair in my churros? Why do they always get my order wrong & never have white meat? Drive thru takes 45 mins at the norm– in general not happy a happy camper. Won’t be back.

At the drive through I ordered for 2 others and myself. We purchased 1 Bowl Combo with Baja Shrimp, 2 Shrimp MangoTacos and an order of Chips and Guacamole. For the drink, an Unsweetened Tea. The Chips and Guacamole and Unsweet Tea were for myself as I do not eat meat. We purchased the food without complication and proceeded home.
On the way home I ate the chips and guacamole, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. I was actually complimenting the guacamole and was satisfied with my purchase. As we kept driving, I occasionally took sips from the drink, and by the time I got home I was almost finished with that too.
What happened next might be the single most disgusting, unsanitary thing that has ever happened to me. I took a sip of the tea I had been previously enjoying and I found something solid had come through the straw and into my mouth. I was immediately disturbed and spit it out into my hand. At first I was so shocked I don’t think I could even process what was going on, it looked like a swollen and puffy grey TICK had just been in my drink, sucked up through the straw and into my mouth!
When I regained my composure I took whatever it was that had just made its way into my mouth and inspected it closer to find it was a seared piece of BEEF. I don’t know what’s worse, a tick or a piece of a cow’s insides, but both are equally disturbing.
When I eat at a restaurant of any kind I expect at the bare minimum that they follow the standards set by the FDA and the US Department of Agriculture. Not only was this a serious health violation but I AM A VEGETARIAN. Can you imagine how psychologically traumatizing it is to be forced to have a cow’s insides put into your mouth THROUGH THE STRAW OF A BEVERAGE CONTAINER?
How could this possibly happen?

Can you please tell me how they run out of chicken! Are you serious!
Update: they explained what happened and a couple customers ahead of me ordered every thing they had. Damn, sometimes it’s all about timing.
In the end the manager took care of me. Thank you.

I’ve had so many horrible experiences here that I’ve stopped going here. Yes, the restaurant is newly remodeled, but that doesn’t make up for being served RAW chicken (after waiting 30 min for chicken breast). It’s so sad. Don’t they check the temperature with an instant read? We’ve also had rancid salsa here too. This location is closer to my house than the location on Valencia, but I won’t eat here anymore.

Just recently relocated back to the good, ol SCV… hadn’t been to this location in a few years and boy was it disgusting.
Walked in and EVERY table had food smeared all over, the salsa bar looked as if some kids were playing sandbox on it and all the trash cans were overflowing.
We were very hungry and opted to eat there anyway.
Big mistake.
The portions were very small (unsure if El Pollo Loco has «weighed» portions) and the chicken was dry, very very dry.
I went to the counter to get some pepper and they were out so I asked a manager– looking type named Mario if they had any and he looked at me like I had asked to fornicate with his wife.
NEVER going back!!!
