Back lot place. Average Mexican. Hostess was incredibly helpful getting our large group of 10 seated(including our 6 kids). Service was exceptional. 3 stars simply due to the mediocre food for the price. If visiting Santa Fe, spend your time and money elsewhere.

Great Margarita, orange tequila shrimp was delightful, bursting citrus flavors, black beans perfectly cooked, very friendly hostess and staff. Flan snob says yummy

Out of this world ! We went to Santa Fe for my son’s soccer tournament and it was our first time there. everyone told me you have to try food in Santa Fe. We chose Mucho Gusto because of their great reviews on Tripadvisor and we were so pleased we did. The service was great, the food so tasty. Thier tomatillo salsa is amazing. I had enchiladas with grilled shrimp. HIghly recommended !

Our Über driver recommended Mucho Gusto and we are so glad he did. The restaurant is located in the back of a building that looks like a strip mall – definitely out of sight. We had lunch there around 12:30 on a Saturday and the place was deserted. That usually is a bad sign – but this really was a hidden gem. I ordered the shrimp special – 5 shrimp sautéed in garlic, ancho chile and olive oil. Yum. It was served with black beans, rice, tortilla strips and pico de gallo. My boyfriend got the grilled chicken burrito with green chile sauce. The food was perfectly seasoned; I did not need to add salt, pepper or hot sauce. We both cleaned our plates. I NEVER clean my plate. The service was great. The food was even better. Go to Mucho Gusto!

We found this hidden jewel by checking the Unilocal reviews. While Paseo de Peralta is a very active street on the edge of historic downtown, you wouldn’t know this wonderful restaurant was tucked in amongst the small office and retail shops. All categories, service, taste, value for the size of the servings, and general atmosphere proved to be top drawer. We will return the next time we are in the area.

Great food, nice homely environment and off the touristy path, though in proximity and between the square and Canyon Road. Four stars, only because the service is lacking and no follow through. Server is great so I can’t blame her since she is the only one trying to serve all 15 – 20 tables. Recommend if you are looking for Mexican food, avoiding the tourist trap and instead eat amongst the locals :-)…

Well let me start out and explain my review was totally based on the fact they they do not allow concealed weapons in their restaurant. Did not realize until we left and saw the sign. Although the fajitas were great and my wife and I shared the meal. More than enough. So if the food is your only criteria, then well worth your time.

They are hidden in the corner of a shopping center with very little traffic. The place is not fancy but the service and food are good. I learned about this place from a coworker who is from Santa Fe. We used them for catering a couple of times and have been satisfied with their service. I recently brought my sister here for dinner(after introducing her to my favorite coffee shop in this part of the country because they share the same parking lot). It was her first experience eating New Mexican food. She had enchiladas and I had flautas. My sister ate everything on her plate. The flautas were large with a good ratio of meat to corn tortilla. It was served with guacamole, sour cream, mashed black bean with feta, fresh salsa, chips and Spanish rice. The combination, especially the black beans with the flautas, makes it Mucho Gusto. We loved the black beans.

We had a lunch at this restaurant during our trip to Santa Fe. We tried many Mexican cuisine restaurants, but we simply loved the taste of the food here. We were slightly skeptical about this place when we got seated as there were no other guests apart from us during peak lunch hours, but to our pleasant surprise it was a nice treat to our taste buds.

Amazing food! I had the enchiladas and my hubby had the steak burrito. Very authentic and best food we have had in Santa Fe thus far. And don’t forget to try the flan!!! Delish.

Really great food, a coupon and super nice customer service. We spent 13 days and New Mexico and this restaurant was the best food we had while dining out.

Very friendly New Mexican place with excellent food. The mole sauce is outstanding and properly complex. The flautas were tasty and crispy. Retried black beans were excellent. The red and green salsas were very good. The only negative was the sangria, which was oddly flavored with almond extract. Also I think that the orange shrimp was a little too heavily orangey for my taste. But overall really a nice place.

Looked it up on Unilocal and went because of the good reviews here. We weren’t disappointed. In fact, we loved it! «The Bomb» was incredible and so were the Agave Wine Margaritas! We finished the evening with the Chocolate Icre Cream Cake which was out of this world. We liked it so much we went back the next day for lunch.

A midday meal of chicken carnitas, sangria, and flan. Just enough to fill me and not get overstuffed. I can understand why the food was highly rated here. Waitstaff was very pleasant, and the ambiance is home style.

Lovely place off the beaten path. The service is super friendly and the food was delish. The salsa could be a little hotter, though. I had the shrimp, my friend had pork tacos, both were tender and great. Go here!

If you like your New Mexican slightly fancy and restaurant-y, go here. If you like the more traditional, possibly more authentic«dives» in your Mexican/New Mexican, hit up the dozens of restaurants on Cerillos Road. This restaurant tends toward the fancier end, but the food isn’t all that wildly different, and it’s slight more expensive. I posted a reservation on Open Table(for one, boo hoo life of a consultant), and the place was empty, save for one other couple on a Thursday evening at 6. My first wild disappointment was the fact that there was no chile rellenos on the menu. No matter, I ordered the enchiladas with green chiles(there was no option for«christmas» chiles) and a Negra Modelo. In the very least, my food came out at a legitimate time that made me feel like it was being freshly prepared, instead of just waiting in a simmering pot or under a heat lamp. My plate was delicous: enchiladas(with veggies), green chile(not that spicy, however), rice and refried black beans(nice for a change) and a few Fritos for that New Mexican touch. Later I was accosted by the host to double-check if I was the Open Table reservation. I told her, yes, that I had mentioned this to two people in the restaurant already, and that she was on the phone when I arrived(and made no mention to acknowledge me then), and then gently chided me that Open Table might send me a nasty email. Please, let me enjoy my meal. I don’t care if I renege on my Open Table reservation, which I most patently did NOT. If you can’t communicate with the staff, that’s not my problem. It was annoying. Besides, the restaurant was empty. Ugh. The food is very good here, and, for the most part, so is the service. But these«fancy» places are just not as authentic, as enjoyable, nor as cost-saving as the dozens of delicious dives you’ll find on Cerillos Road.(But Mucho Gusto probably has someone reading these Unilocal reviews, so please, if you are the owner of this place, I’m not interested in reading a message from you. PLEASE don’t reply. Your food is good, this review is just a spit in the bucket.)

We went on a Friday evening because it was next to our lodging(Inn on the Alameda). We went fairly late, around 8:30pm. It’s pretty small but a fair amount of tables were occupied. We were seated immediately. And waited. And waited. And waited… and were about to leave while watching staff busing tables, serving others, and standing around, with not so much as an «I’ll be right with you» or a glass of water. At the moment when we were getting up, finally our waitress came over, so we stayed. We ordered their house margaritas. Then noticed the table next to us — who were seated after us and ordered after us — got their drinks, the same that we ordered! We waited MORE for our drinks. We ordered chips and guacamole — no free chips and salsa here. It was pretty good. I ordered the cheese enchiladas. They came with beans and rice. When I got my plate, it looked like half of my plate was just melted cheese and chilis. There was no enchilada to be found. When fishing around, I found a semblance of a tortilla but it still was almost only melted cheese with some green chilis. The beans and rice were ok. We finished our drinks but were not offered another, nor dessert. Just brought our check. Ok, we will leave instead of spending more money! I felt really sick after this meal. It didn’t sit right at all. Definitely would not go back.
