Shrimp Ceviche. Get it. My husband got the tamales recently as well as chile rellenos and he loved them. We usually get it to go, the seating is pretty much fast food, but the food is good!

Is imitation the most sincerest form of flattery? I guess so, I mean if done properly it could be. If this El Toro is supposed to be the same as the El Toro on West Main St., one of these is not like the other. Veggie Burrito: Was repulsive. It may be because I don’t like sour cream so I asked for it with no sour cream but guess what was right there in the middle, yup, sour cream :-/The pickled jalapeños and carrots completely over power the burrito with their flavor and their aroma. It’s very unpleasant to eat a burrito with a strong vinegar smell. If you’re a vegetarian I recommend just sticking to the bean and cheese burrito. Pork Tamale: Just awful. It was dry inside and out even putting salsa on it couldn’t save it. Carnitas and Buche: Were good. A bit greasy but you know what you’re getting when you order carnitas and buche. Tacos: Don’t bother getting the large taco($ 2.50) because you basically get the same amount of meat as the small taco($ 1.50) Chile Rojo Burrito: OK but not memorable. Comes with meat, beans, and cheese and we added rice to it for an extra charge. Salsas: Always good. No hot and fresh tortillas at this location. You can still buy a pack of tortillas they just aren’t freshly made. The Main St. location is small, the line is always out the door, the parking is terrible, but the food is superior to this location. What this location has going for it is that it has a large dining area, friendly staff, and lots of parking.

Damn it. I should have read the reviews before coming in. The second star is for how clean and new the place is. Food was awful!!! Plastic water cup that was the size of a pee cup when taking a drug test. Old chips!!! Meat was old. I did try to eat the food but only as I was thinking about the fast food places down the street past to get here. I feel bad for this place as I know it will be closed or change owners with in the next 6 months. You just can’t serve bad Mexican food in Santa Maria and expect to stay in business.

Quite possibly the most grotesque Mexican food(shouldn’t be called food) I have ever had. I ordered Carne asada tacos and a carne asada burrito. The meat is globs of fat, with a little bit if meat on it. If you enjoy mouthfuls of slimy goop, this is for you. I tried giving my tacos to my cats and they wouldn’t eat it. I got cheese in my burrito. After seeing the tacos, I opened the burrito before I blindly took a bite. Cheese covered balls of slime goop. Went straight into the garbage. Top Ramen it is. Oh, and I did get one carnitas taco because I love me some good carnitas. It was so old and dried out the meat looked like you could see through it.

We have eaten here twice. My quesadilla tasted like the cheese was made out of plastic and the chicken is just huge cut up pieces instead of shredded. It’s $ 6 for white plastic cheese and gross chicken in a big boring flour tortilla. I make better quesadillas at home. For $ 6 they could at least use more than one type of cheese. They also refused to make a quesadilla on corn tortillas both times I’ve gone in despite having bags of corn tortillas there. Other places just make two corn ones instead of one flour. I make them all the time at home and it’s not any more difficult. The workers are nice and the place is really spacious. Their food is super expensive though and there’s not really a great selection. You also don’t get chips & salsa with your food which is disappointing especially at those prices.

I only went here because my roommate wanted to try it because it was so close to our apartment. First of all, the service was horrible. They came across as bored teenagers who didn’t want to be there and even seemed to mock me about wanting extra salsa and my roommate for wanting nachos. It was a rather odd experience. Once we got our food it was pretty gross. My carne asada burrito tasted like unseasoned ground beef and like 50% rice with minimal other ingredients. I felt very disrespected after going there and have told many people not to even try this restaurant.

One of the employees had their kids there and they were running wild. It felt like I was at ChuckECheese. Plus, these kids(oldest looked maybe 10) were running in and out of the kitchen. I saw one girl grab for food inside the case without gloves on. The food was okay but after seeing the lack of care towards food and customer safety I won’t be going back.

Went with my mother in law and toddler for lunch the other day. I had a delicious, and generous, chicken quesadilla. She had carnitas tacos and loved those as well. My little one was crazy for the horchata, chips & guacamole, and meat from our meals. It was just busy enough, but we didn’t wait long for our food at all. I didn’t get a good look at the hot and cold cases but I will definitely go back to check out everything they offer. Good prices, good portions, good service!

Very friendly service and average quality Mexican food sums up our visit. We tried five different menu items and found the ceviche tostada to be the only item that was special, the burritos and tacos were just ok. The side of rice and beans were possibly the worst Mexican rice I’ve ever had. The servers however were hustling and full of hospitality. Not sure we will be back.

My husband and I tried out this restaurant since I do like the food from the one on main st. I ordered tacos and he got a chili relleno burrito. He didn’t like his burrito. The tacos were okay. The beans and rice had no flavor to them. The employees had great over all customer Service skills. Very nice. But not sure if we’ll be back? Maybe to give it a 2nd chance later on.

Ehhh… I don’t know you guys. The first couple times we came here the food was pretty not bad, staff was friendly enough… But the 3rd time the steak tacos were full of chopped up pieces of fat. It was weird, the actual meat pieces were trimmed but it’s like all the trimmed fat was tossed back in. And they were out of tamales(which I overheard are frozen… another customer had asked if they were made there and«they’re frozen» was the reply.) Also, the resturant wasn’t even busy the last time we went and even though there were a lot of employees our food took a lot longer then previous visits. So, I don’t think we’ll be back anytime soon. Not the worst, but definitely not the best.

Love their food. Customer service is great. Enjoyed our brunch here. Guacamole and chips aren’t bad either.

Its not the best, but not the worst. I went there towards the end of the day. I can tell the meat has been sitting a long time under a heat lamp. I got a burrito and it was dry. Im going to try this place one more time and see if theres much difference. But for now its just all right. There is better Mexican food down the road

Really BADFOOD!. I order 3 tacos, carne asada, al pastor & birria de res. The al pastor tasted like choriso, the asada one had a really bad taste. The Tortillas were hard, and grease and to TOP it Off my husband found a rubber band in the Green Salsa. Defenetly never coming back here again.

Well I understand is new, but their employees need more training, more knowledge of the menu, we asked for a side of chicharron and they told us they are not allowed to do it, since when do business not sell there product? WTH, will think twice about recommending the place or coming back. To top it off after waiting 20 minutes it turns out they LOST our order WTH? We have thank you wait another 10 minutes no apology at all! Employees just looked at each other and laugh. And we didn’t get the side order grrrr where in the world is the manager at during these situations?

Ceviche de camaron & jaiba was excellent! The special burrito toro was good but just needs a bit more guacamole.

Clean, quick and delicious. Carne asada burrito made to order. Nice spice, no gristle, balance between all ingredients(not to much rice or meat, just right). Quality of the deli on Main with a sit down lunch vibe. I’ll be back
