Also…Please Great Scott, For the love of the church of Scientology please take the pan cooked chicken wings off of the menu!

The pizza was ok the cheese bread was ok the wings were ok and the salad didn’t even look like it was worth eating the lettuce was regular head lettuce not romaine or spring lettuce. Plus who puts raisins in a salad? Worst of all I think the pizza gave me diarrhea. I love pizza and really wish there were more good pizza places to choose from in Santa Maria. Papa Johns is the best I’ve found but I don’t want to get it everytime cuz I like to get a pizza about once a week.

Would’ve rated them higher but I think it’s a little pricey, very tasty pizza though. Never been here before, I ordered some food to go & the nice old man who I assume is the owner gave me a free soda while I waited. I’ll be back

The pizza is respectable.
Most everything else is not. I came here on a saturday around 1130 am. I understand most pizza places are not on their A game at that time of day but i wanted pizza, beer, and college football. I got all three here. I won’t bore you with everything that was not so great because I beleive this place has great potential. Awesome space. Great dining room. Big tvs.
All that said it needs maintenence. The place smells bad. Things are run down. They water down the ranch. All signs of just poor ownership that might be running out of money.
I hope it can be turned around as it has great potential and the pizza was pretty good!

Have not been here in years, but remembered it as being great pizza!!! So went the other day and was not let down!!! Had the personal small pizza w/​Xtra cheese and salad bar!!! Mmmnm! Hot excellent happy delicious pizza!!! Getting hungry just thinking about it!!!

Great tasting food, super wonderful service.
Went there for lunch today with a friend and (I’m assuming it was the owner who was helping us) was super sweet and helpful. He really went above and beyond and was so nice! My friend wanted fresh brewed iced tea so he made some fresh hot tea for her and brought it out with a big cup of ice. He also brought her some sugar on a second trip. Definitely the extra mile and was super friendly.
The salad bar was fresh, clean and well stocked. Delicious.
The pizza was hot and fresh and was really yummy! The crust was crispy and on the thinner side but not super thin. Prices were reasonable, too. Very satisfied!

The gentlemen who helped me, the owner I think, was so nice! He explained all about his pizza while it cooked. It was like a lesson in making pizza. Everything made from scratch! SO great! I am very pleased with the service and the pizza. Yum!!!

here is my review don t make fun of 1979 décor this guy has the best pizza on the central l coast better than fattes klondike and other pizza joints, dont go to look at the décor go for the awesome pizza! thanks the brothers rod/​robert glad to be back! boss some time dives are the best

I don’t think this place is horrible for the task of obtaining pizza, the pizza is pretty good but this place needs a facelift. The crust on the pizza is probably the best around Santa Maria but as other reviewers have attested the toppings are lacking, particularly sauce and cheese. Again, the pizza is tasty but with the competition in Santa Maria I think that Great Scott’s needs to provide more of an experience.
Lunch buffet is actually not a bad deal if you’re a pizza fiend like me.

We do pizza night every Monday night with the kids and after several years of this we were searching for a someplace we haven’t experienced. We went into Great Scott’s knowing it’s been t here forever and wondering if it would be any good and it actually was pretty decent. We got the family deal that came with a large pizza, pitcher of soda, spaghetti and bread and it was a lot of food for the price. So that was great. The pizza looked and tasted alright but was a little skimpy on sauce. My boys were a little bummed they missed the arcade area which is hidden in a room at toward the back (this is also good if you want to keep your kids in the dark about the arcade and not have them spend all your quarters. Not my favorite place but it was good for something different and no real complaints.

Gross is an understatement.
Look, I understand that people are attached to places, nostalgia weighs heavily on them, but good Lord, this place is God awful. It looks like the cheese is slices of American Kraft. Very… underwhelming. Skip if you can.

This is my pizza place. I don’t go anywhere else unless I’m experimenting and then I come back and apologize for even trying. I take everyone who visits me here.
The interior décor is just like the places I grew up going to. Just like a previous reviews says, totally 80s. Not quite bare-​bone, but close in some areas.
The pizzas are good. I’ve only had 1 better, and those are homemade. In fact, in some areas these are better.
Only reason, and I mean the only reason, I would mark this down and I’m still waffling between 4~5 is because on occasion they have a hard time understanding a take out order, and delivering everything in one go. However, they bring the missing item out speedily and it’s never been a problem.
So good…
