My wife and I had dinner at Mimi’s today. My wife had roasted chicken dinner and I had the garlic roasted chicken. Both meals were exceptional just like the service we received. What can I say except we were very pleased.

This place reminds me of a place you want to bring your grandmother for lunch in fact that’s what I did hahaha. The décor is so back in the day it reminds me of the early nineties. The food was something your grandmother would cook at home. The service was OK considering we were the only ones in the place on a Friday at four. I cant see myself coming back soon.

Me and my boyfriend came in to get brunch to only get the menus and not even offered something to drink. We waited a whole 10 minutes and no one even recognized us so we got up and left. Horrible service! Never again!

Service was really slow, it took about 20 minutes for us to be greeted at the table. My wife and I ordered soup salad and a sandwich, and my daughter got pb&j crepes. The food was fine but nothing spectacular. It was reasonably priced.

Got seated right away. I ordered the turkey with gravy, potatoes and veggies. The food was great and the prices are very affordable. I would eat at that location again.

My recommendation, do not go to this Mimi’s! You would be very unhappy with the poor and slow service, under staffing and ineffective management. The food was very slow to arrive and only marginally eatable. I like the Mimi’s chain but this one is a disaster. I do recommend Mimi’s in Mission Valley. My experience, Friday night, Jan. 14th: We arrived at 5pm. One couple ahead of us. An employee approached and said«Are you with the seminar?» No I said. The hostess arrived acting overwhelmed. I sensed we should have left this Mimi’s right then, but stayed, my bad. Our waiter Noah took our order but it became clear he was servicing too many tables. After a long 35 minute wait our food arrived. Noah did not offer an «I’m sorry it is taking so long». We felt abandoned. Clearly the entire restaurant, cooks, waiters, hostess and manager were disorganized and overwhelmed. Is it clear you should NOT go to this Mimi’s? When Noah served the food I asked to see the manager. I said«It took too long to get our food. Could we have some boxes to take it home?» Her reply was NOT«We are very sorry for the long wait but we are very busy tonight and understaffed.» Instead she said«It takes a long time to cook steak.» I asked for the bill($ 37.76) and we left never to return to this Mimi’s. My recommendation is to avoid this restaurant.

Great customer service and the food is good. A little over priced but just sign up for the weekly coupon and it makes it a little better. –1 star, Booths in the room on the left after the front doors were very uncomfortable to sit. Springs are hard and some are broken.

Okay so I was talked into going back by a friend who wanted to meet up for lunch. To my surprise the menu has changed to more american style dishes. They still have the french theme but I was impressed with my sandwich & the fries were amazing. I do have to say the service is slow and having to hunt down your server for refills does not make me happy. You can be a nice person but if you have horrible service skills in my book you are on the S list. Will I come back… maybe…we will see!

We went to breakfast the day before Thanksgiving for the first time. It was amazing! The service was great and the food outstanding. I had the Ham and Swiss crepes and I could only eat one. My husband and I have been searching for a regular breakfast place and I think we have found our new spot! 2 thumbs up from 2 fluffy foodies.

Overall, the food was unpalatable. Service was mediocre. My experience today is pretty much in line with the other Unilocalers. My friend from temecula gave me a gift card to Mimi’s Café and so we decided to try it out for the 1st time. She says their breakfast is good. However, her normal local is in the I.E. My husband, brother in law, and son had the Santa Fe omelet with potatoes & a muffin. All were in consensus it was not good. I had the strawberry & crème waffles with a mimosa. The flavor of the dishes were just bland. Mimi’s Café has a french-inspired menú and décor but it just feels cheap and inauthentic. Overall, the food was unpalatable. Service was mediocre. Maybe there are some delicious dishes but unfortunately we did not get them on our visit.

I came here for carryout, got home and opened the bag and there were three ants crawling in the lid of my soup. I called immediately and the manager didnt apologize or even sound the least bit concerned. He told me to drive back in with my soup. Why? Disgusting! Will never come back here.

Came in today, still sitting here trying to move after enjoying such a great meal. My boyfriend and I were taken great care of by Ashley. She split our salad without us asking even, refills were prompt and coursing was timed perfectly. She was attenitive enough while still got to enjoy quality time with my honey. My Apple brie and turkey croissant sandwich was decadent. And my boyfriends french dip looked hearty and packed from what I saw before he devoured it. Will be back all the way from La Mesa!

We came for the comfort food and that is exactly what we got. I ate the meatloaf and Shelley had the potroast. But we’re very nice.

We wanted breakfast for dinner. My husband recommended that #1 thought you have when you think of breakfast all day, and I asked if I could see if there’s anywhere else. And so, we went to Mimi’s. I like the variety of choices here better where I feel like«that other place» is all eggs, breakfast meat and pancakes. We were held for five minutes to be sat and the hostess politely volunteered that she had a big party come in and was try to sort out the restaurant. I took this as code for trying to balance tables and found out five minute wait to be short. The dinner menu DIDNOT have a wide breakfast selection, but when I sweetly asked the hostess she explained that the whole breakfast is available except hollandaise sauce and oatmeal. When we were seated we ordered drinks, received them promptly, then ordered food and my husband asked for a decaf coffee. The coffee did not arrive for two rounds of our server moving through the restaurant(not passing us), so we asked and she had forgotten and apologized. My quiche was good, my salad was dressed though I hadn’t been asked about a dressing. My son wanted a kids combination that they didn’t have(they offer pancakes OR meat and eggs, he wanted all three), so the server figured out a solution for him that was less expensive than the $ 10 grown up meal equivalent. I REALLYLIKEDTHAT. My hubby ordered a standard breakfast combo. We all ate and enjoyed ourselves, but the food and service was average. We will absolutely be back, though I have a feeling based on reviews that it’s hit or miss. In summary: Go in a pleasant mood and choose to be pleasant the whole time, and I think you’ll be fine. If you’ve been accused(ever) of having an «attitude» and I’d say this place isn’t for you.

Never have I ever been so disappointed with the lack of customer service at a large chain restaurant. We arrived during lunch hour on a Sunday afternoon and were informed that it would be a 15 – 20 minute wait. Not a problem for us. We grabbed some menus and sat in the waiting area about 15 feet from the hostess’ podium. When our wait time doubled to 40 minutes with no warning, one of the members in our party of 4 walked up to ask how far down the list we still were. The hostess immediately replied with horrible attitude ‘I called your name 3 times and no one answered’ * keep in mind we were only 15 feet away from her and clearly heard this conversation The person from my party asked her when she called our names because we didn’t hear, but we clearly heard them call everyone else. Again she replied with repulsive attitude ‘I called your names 3 times a while ago and even walked around the waiting area’ Another hostess(really nice with a dark braid) walked up, grabbed 4 menus and told us to follow her. I think she realized her coworker was causing a scene. We were sat in the busiest part of the restaurant right by the kitchen entrance/exit. Servers were everywhere, yet after waiting 10 minutes to meet our server. We decided enough was enough and we got up and left. A server immediately approached us and we told him we were leaving. As we were walking out, the same hostess(short dirty blonde hair) that was incredibly rude said ‘have a great day’ with attitude and that was all we could handle. We told her flat out that we were leaving because of her and the horrible experience she created for us. Her response? ‘Well, I called your name. It’s not my fault that you didn’t hear me’ AREYOUJOKINGMERIGHTNOW?! I worked in the restaurant and hospitality business for the most of my working life and you want me to think your behavior is acceptable?! It doesn’t matter what your profession is, if you can’t take pride in what you are being paid to do… Then find something else. I really hope management retrains her on the importance of QUALITY customer service. When you make a mistake(or even if you don’t), you still do all you can to keep the customer happy. Sorry Mimi’s, this location lost our business because of this unacceptable experience.

We were there today 10÷4÷15 at 12:30 and put our name in, party of 4 with a girl who had blond hair. Didn’t catch her name. We sat in the available seating towards the back of the waiting area. We were told wait time would be 10 – 15 min max. We waited 40 min and asked about our status. She replied we called you 3 times. We were not occupied with anything just sitting watching waiting for our seat. She did not take the time to walk to our area in side the restaurant and call our name. We finally got seated and let the person know we already know what we want. We waited again for another 15 minutes and decided to leave just as the waiter got to our table. We got up and left. On our way out we told the hostess in blond that we felt we were not treated right and she immediately got defensive and told us we just didn’t listen, which I can tell you is definitely not the case. After 10 min we were actively listening for our seats, they were never called. She must of called in a whisper. Didn’t think to actually walk the waiting area and look for a party of 4 or move beyond her podium to call. Her response to us was very unprofessional. In customer service you do not argue, you do not defend yourself, you simply say we are sorry what can we do to help. Not tell us we are wrong and argue back. We left and ate at five guys. We will not be returning to this Mimi’s Café.

«Everything About our Dinner was Awesome« My wife and I went to Mimi’s Café in Santee tonight, and had a wonderful experience. First of all as we walked in from the parking lot the Host Salicia, opened the front door and greeted us with a Big welcome. Salicia was so Bubbly and Nice as she took us to our table, smiling all the way. Amber our server also had a great personality and was 1st class and professional, as she took care of our every need. We had the Fish and Chips which was served with French Fries, and cold slaw. The Fish was so crispy on the outside, and so moist on the inside, The Fries were crispy and deciduous. My wife had the Pot Roast with wine sauce which was so tender and tasty. We then had a Croissant Bread pudding with Caramel Sauce and Sea Salt. It was Fantastic ! Oh and glasses of wine are only $ 5.00, and on Wednesday’s an entire Bottle of wine is 50% off. Great place to go for some tasty food, at a very reasonable price.

I hate to give Mimi’s 1 star. The host was so pleasant and the warm muffins were extremely delicious. However, our server was handling an area that probably should’ve had two servers and we waited about an hour for our food. We ordered the mix & match(half a sandwich and a salad), so nothing really needed to be cooked. The lettuce in our salads was nowhere near fresh. Actually, my sister-in-laws plate had black liquid on it that had run off of rotten lettuce. We notified our server and her response was that«it’s hard to tell with this kind of lettuce» but that she would«tell them right away.» They comp’d one of our lunches, which was cool, but their lettuce is still at least a few days old. The muffins are good, but the wait to be seated, slow service, and quality of food is not worth it.
