We were somewhat disappointed with our experience at Aaron’s Fish Camp. The atmosphere was great and the live music the night we were there was easily the best solo performer we heard all week long. Unfortunately, we received really poor service that evening. Our waiter was quite inattentive and took a long time to take our order, ask us for drink refills, or to bring our food. The food was fair, but not spectacular. It’s always tough to objectively evaluate food when receiving less than favorable service. We felt things were a bit overpriced given the service and quality of our meals and drinks. Everyone has off nights, but we definitely were not thrilled with our experience.

Food and service was EXCELLENT! We had a party of 6 and all the food and drinks were great! We had a such a great time! Wish we could have stayed for the entertainment but we had a baby. The only complaint we had was the dog that was sitting on the bench behind us. As a dog owner(a Great Dane), I don’t think its right to allow a dog to sit on the table benches and shake right next to people eating. We had to waive the hair away from our food :(

Been on the island 2 weeks Aaron’s fish camp was best grouper sandwich I had, got it blackened, wife had clam chowder was very good. I highly recommend this place, saw a lump crab meal looked awesome, will try next time, band was very good and our server Katie was top notch. No complaints at all from me.

Came on a Thursday night and sat outside. Beautiful night, great atmosphere and amazing service. Live music was a plus too! Started with the onion loaf and it was a great spicy treat. Very large! I had the Mahi Mahi tacos and they were bursting with flavor and yumminess. My husband had the fish and chips. Healthy large portion of fresh nicely beer battered fish. My daughter had the lobster tacos and they too were overflowing. Lots of lumps of lobster. Great prices too. Come for amazing happy hour specials! Half off drinks from 11am to 6pm! Right downtown. Will definitely be back.

This place is awesome! We just arrived in Sarasota and were looking for a place for both us to enjoy ie. Fish, BBQ, and burgers and this place looked right… it didnt disappoint. The atmosphere is nice even in the rain with live music and a heated patio. The staff was great and the food was served steaming hot which is a rare find now days. Try Aaron’s and you wont be disappointed.

A very nice surprise in Siesta Key. This feels like a real Florida Gulf Coast restaurant with casual seating, live music and a great bar. Sit outside(heaters were on) or in. We had such a nice meal and they have a great selection of craft beer. The service was really good and the prices seemed good.

Three stars for a great happy hour and great service. They also have a cool atmosphere. We sat outside on the deck and enjoyed the beautiful weather. The band was pretty great, too. The food really wasn’t that good. We ordered a couple of apps and then opted to eat elsewhere. We ordered a half dozen oysters and smoked chicken wings. Nothing bad but not good. Still worth checking this place out for amazing happy hour cocktail specialty drinks.

This restaurant used to be called the BluQ and they had a name change, staff change and a menu change late in 2015. My husband and I think this is one of the best restaurants on the island. New manager, Antonio, runs a tight efficient place. First of all from 3 to 6 every day all the appetizers are half price, now there are several which makes this a tremendous bargain. Number one; smoked chicken wings! This dish is hands-down the best dish at Aaron’s Fishcamp. For seven dollars you get an entire bowl of deliciously tender smoked chicken wings. We were at the outside bar at the Fishcamp and overheard a gentleman who said he drives from Clearwater just to eat the smoked chicken wings. Another appetizer we really enjoy are the Peel and eat shrimp. Another bargain at seven dollars as you get eight gigantic shrimp which have been steamed in an old Bay seasoning. These are big shrimp almost prawns in size and you get eight large ones. Monday through Friday their cocktails are half price from 3 to 6. The new cocktail menu has some very interesting cocktails ranging from Tropical martinis to a good selection of draft beers. Erin’s Fishcamp is our«go to» place on siesta key we love the outside bar located in the back(hopefully Tony will be your bartender, he’s the best on the island) and if you are around on a Sunday they actually have a pig barbecue starting at 10 o’clock on Sunday and by 6 o’clock the entire pig is put on the picnic tables where you can help yourself, yes I said, then you can help yourself it’s absolutely free. But if you can’t wait until that pig is finished you can get five dollar pulled pork sandwiches all day on Sunday we just love Aaron’s Fishcamp!

It gets a 5 rating because of their wait staff! The food is nice. Crab cakes are a must-no fillers! Happy hour drinks are sublime. The true GEM of the restaurant was Erin Richardson. I just Bly asked her last name because there are two Erin’s. She was amazing! My Family felt like we were dining at an upscale establishment. Get there between 5 – 6 and you can be seated right away! An island staple!

Had the best time in this place. Actually stopped for a drink the first time because we heard the music(Bob Marley), decided to have dinner and didn’t disappoint so we decided to have dinner on New Year’s Eve. Again the food and service was great, didn’t care for the entertainment on New Year’s Eve, but overall good times.

Our waiter was so nice and the food was really good especially the shrimp, and to top it out the food came out very fast! Also their entertainment was fun and enjoyable. I would recommend sitting out side though.

I dined here with my family the weekend after Christmas. There were hour waits at most other places, but we were able to get in here immediately which was great. We enjoyed the atmosphere here. They had live music, friendly service and really large booths outside. While they had a nice cocktail menu, they were just ok. We had the Dark & Stormy and one of the martinis with ginger beer. For starters we had the raw oysters and the tobacco onion loaf. Both were good. The onion loaf had a nice kick to it. For entrees we had the crab cakes which were great, the blackened grouper which was also great and came out piping hot, the lobster tacos which totally fell apart when you picked them up and the cheeseburger which was fantastic. My only complaints about the entrees were that the lobster tacos fell apart, the brussels sprouts were totally mushy and the cauliflower mash was luke warm. The protein on the plate was great, though. They must have a great grill master.

Was it a restaurant with a bar or a bar with a restaurant? Not sure. One thing that is for sure is that we dined in the lions den of the inebriated-Harley Davidson riding-over-served– ‘Woo people’— You know the ones – that shriek and hoot and hollar about who knows what. And on Christmas! To our fault, we went to Aaron’s Fish Camp because it was open on Christmas and we were hungry. Until we were HAAANGRY! Not only were we told we couldn’t sit inside because of too many reservations reserved for the inside, we had to endure decibel breaking shrieks and be privy to watching toothless grown men get down on the knees imitating midgets. Hey I’m 5’2″ –lets not add insult to injury! The atmosphere was so loud, the server couldn’t understand our questions on the menu and brought us the wrong thing to eat, but we were in such a hurry to be gone, we dealt with it. Then, when leaving, we noticed that many tables were open inside, guess the reserved got the message. I feel the worst for the live singer; no one could hear him over the shrieks of drunken delusions of grandeur. The food was fine, but I sincerely hope no one from the bar was driving home that night. It would be a Christmas miracle if they make it. Hope they’re not liable if so.

I’ve always ate wings out of this social penchant to you know enjoy a chicken appetizer, but hold up, Aaron’s Fish Camp brought a game changer that made me want to approach wings on a whole new level. Their maple sirachi wings are something else. Meat falling off the bone, perfect mix of sweet, sticky, and spicy. Good lord, it’s almost chicken & waffles. I paired them up with the oysters, and while I must say the oysters were ok, they paled in comparison to the wings. Local craft beer on tap, and a beach vibe, and everything is just right. Please note, this is still BluQ, just within a new name and altered menu. The slingers and cooks are still the same, so quality is still paramount.

Aaron camp wings with srrichia is amazingggg. All the food we got was excellent. Bloody Mary’s were so par– drinks cost more than the food only downfall. No specials really on weekends except for happy Hours which is only 3 – 6 on weekends. All in all great. Would have been perfect with better bar specials, or, a free drink or something along those lines with Unilocal check in would have sold the deal.

This originally was the Blue Q. Name change and a new menu. If the food was as good as the Blue Q, then it has to be good. Sitting at the bar with Tony, a really good bartend. Tony mixes a pretty good drink. Waiting to eat and revise my review. This may be a 5 star if the service and menu items meet the grade.
