Been on St Armand’s long time, we had avoided, thought for tourists kinda place. Tried them in Hawaii earlier this year, good experience there and thought, ok give them a try for lunch. Friendly greeter, quick seating, efficient and helpful server, Melissa, knew her menu. Fish and chips, crab bisque and coconut shrimp appetizer made great lunch for two. Nothing exotic, seafood good but most is not local. Would recommend and will eat there again.

Based on the gleaming positive ratings for this place, my family and I decided to give it a try. We called ahead, made reservations, and as soon as we arrived we were seated right away. I was looking forward to eating here, I even went through the entire menu before we left the house. Unfortunately, as we were about to take our seats, a family member noticed a family of tiny spiders scattered, moving about all over our table. Unfortunately, I saw them too. We left immediately. We had to wait a half hour in the blistering heat before we could be seated elsewhere. Do they not clean the tables enough? We’ll never know. Unacceptable.

Another great dining experience at Tommy’s on St. Armands Circle. Excellence service thanks to Lauren O. being so attentive. Started with the Filet Mignon Flatbread and had the Macadamia Nut Crusted Snapper as an entrée, both highly recommend. Food was hot and served to us in a timely manner. I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over ten years now and it has always been consistent and a pleasurable dining experience!

Just to start out, I’m a big food guy. Always thinking about my next meal and I had been looking forward to Fathers Day dinner at Tommy’s for the entire week. My experience was incredible. I started out with a Mai Tai(highly recommend) and then we ordered a few app’s for the table… Coconut shrimp(bangin’), roasted beats(bangin’), filet mignon flatbread(bangin’), and the ahi tuna tacos(my personal favorite). For my entrée, I had the Coconut Cloud as my drink and the Macadamia Nut Crusted Snapper. Without a doubt one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had and I now understand why it’s one of their best sellers. As if this wasn’t enough already, we decided to get a few deserts to share… Triple chocolate cake, pineapple crème brûlée, brown butter blonde. The crème brûlée was my personal favorite, but they were all delicious. Aside from the food, I thought the ambiance and service was top notch. It’s a really relaxed environment and when you pair that with great company and food, it makes for an unforgettable experience… I will be going back for some ribs before my vacation ends!

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and had dinner here. Our server was Tariq and he was so kind and helpful. He made menu suggestions and shared his opinions and favorites which helped me make choices on my meal. The atmosphere is so relaxed and chill, but it is 5 star dining. Great food! I had the Caribbean mahi mahi and it was so fresh and cooked perfectly. My husband had the full slab of ribs and said they were one of the best he’s had. For dessert we had the piña colada cake. I cannot say enough about how AMAZING this cake is!!! I think it is the best dessert I have ever had!!! I was so full from dinner but I could not resist the cake! This is one of my new favorite restaurants in Sarasota and definitely my favorite place to eat at St. Armand’s. Eat here!

The food was delicious. We visited during Savor Sarasota(restaurant week) so I ordered from the special menu. The coconut shrimp was some of the best I’ve ever had… No wonder they call it «world famous.» My friend and I also shared our entrees so we could both try the Parmesan crusted stuffed chicken and the macadamia nut crusted snapper. Both were delicious but the sauce on the snapper made it really stand out. The salads and sides were all good as well. The only negative I have is that the service felt extremely slow. We enjoyed the overall experience but felt that everything drug out longer than it should have.

Both of our orders were messed up. They left us waiting to take our order forever, then came back with wrong order twice! Then billed wrong on top of that. Asked for manager. He said he was very sorry and would fix it which took literally 20 more minutes before he came back. Ugh. What a waste of time on our vacation! Almost 2 solid hours in this place just for lunch

We visited Tommy’s on Saturday, May 28th. We sat at the bar and we were immediately greeted with a big smile from David, who works the bar. He asked us if this was our first time there. I told him no. He then handed us a menu of drinks, and I asked him what his favorite drinks were to make. He told us the Coconut Cloud Martini, Pineapple Paradisio, and Mai Tai. We chose the Mai Tai and the Coconut Cloud. He seemed to take pride in making his drinks and measuring liquor and juices in a very careful and precise way. He placed the drinks in front of us and made them look too good to drink! The drinks were outstanding! David made us feel so welcome, and has a kind disposition and such a great, friendly smile! He is truly a gentlemen and professional. Thank you, David, we will be back!

Unbelievably rude waitstaff! Arrived early for our dinner reservation. Decided to enjoy happy hour. We were told we could not sit in booths in bar for happy hour and were directed upstairs. There we were told we had to sit on the balcony– in sunny 95 degree sun– no shade. We asked to instead be seated inside for our dinner and were told we’d need to go downstairs again to check in– seriously??! Twenty minutes, still no food and no drinks, we left and enjoyed dinner at Crab and Fin! Buyer beware– stay far way from Tommy Bahamas!

Love a beautiful day at Tommy Bahamas as usual. I noticed the salad that goes with Crab cakes became ‘Island slaw’, it’s not as good as thai salad. Scallops sliders were not as good, the buns were dry and scallops were lacking of flavors. The kale salad were not fine chopped, it was sloppy looking. I still enjoy the best fries in town, drinks, and well cooked Ahi Tuna. *remember the tea has 1 free refill.

Mai tai, crab bisque, and scallop sliders were amazing! Pulled pork quesadilla and filet mignon average. A little warm inside otherwise nice atmosphere. Service was good.

Everything about this place was delicious. From the drinks, to the free mango sashimi appetizer, to the bread and cinnamon sauce, to our entrees! I only wish we would have saved room for their delicious looking dessert menu! The waitress was incredibly friendly and accommodating as well. The drink menu is amazing. We all had a hard time picking just one! My grandpa had a cucumber cocktail which was delicious and not«too» sweet. I had a non-alcoholic mango tea with lime because I wasn’t feeling like alcohol– and it was just as yummy! I had the fish taco lettuce wraps with a cup of chicken tortilla soup. No complains at all, it was all absolutely delicious. The tacos came with a very unique side– soft grilled plantains with a coconut banana yogurt dipping sauce. Very much recommended — everything was tasty, service was great, and the drink menu is awesome. I will be back– and thankful there is a location in Manhattan I can visit between FL trips!

We visited the Tommy Bahama Restaurant in Sarasota on April 7, 2016. We were visiting the Sarasota area, and this was recommended by a longtime friend as a good spot to celebrate my birthday. I was told(correctly) that their Rum Runner drink was not to be missed. We ended up sitting outside on the upper deck, which provided a great view of the people meandering around the bustling St. Armond’s Circle area, which is the gateway to Longboat Key. In addition to a couple adult beverages, we opted for a couple appetizers each. We both had the excellent crab bisque, and a perfectly done Caesar salad. In addition, since it was my birthday, they comped a piece of their awesome key lime pie. The biggest surprise, and indeed the best part of the experience, was our servder, Pamela. Her smile lit up the room, her knowledge of the food and drinks was extensive, and her warm personality was infectious. As a server, she was first-rate, but the overall experience was so much better, due to our good fortune of scoring her in our section. I was so impressed with Pamela, that I stopped the manager and told her what a wonderful experience we had. While this certainly put a smile on her face, and was thankful for the compliments, she blew us away when she told us that this was Pamela’s FIRSTDAY on the job at Tommy Bahama. This young lady did her homework, and combined with her personality is sure to be there for a long time. We’re considering a move to the Sarasota area, and will definitely be visiting Tommy Bahama again … hopefully sitting in Pamela’s section!

This restaurant was the closest to our hotel on Lido Key, it is part of St. Armand’s Circle and only a few blocks off the ocean. It has 2 floors and getting a table during the dinner rush wasn’t an issue. I ordered a few Cucumber vodka-based drinks and had a chicken dinner that was on special that night and thought it was decent. Our server was personable and timely, we did have a fairly large group of about 10 people. It’s worth a stop, especially if you’re already planning to be in the St. Armand’s Circle area.

First of all, I never knew this was a chain until I saw another in NYC –but that just made me so excited because I really enjoyed eating at Tommy Bahama not once, but twice while on my honeymoon! We decided to go here once seeing the menu. The BBQ pulled pork Quesadillas pulled me in as soon as I saw them, along with the chicken lollipop – yum! They were absolutely perfect. For dinner we had the blackberry sauced ribs which the hubby devoured and the baked chicken which I really enjoyed. I have to say, the drinks were amazing. I had a blood orange margarita which I’m still obsessing over and my husband had a habanero margarita that he loved. I will definitely be trying other locations or returning if I’m ever back in St. Armand’s Key!
