Got the Enchiladas. They were ok. I think they were microwaved though as you could pretty much tell the way the ends were. I think they were frozen ones. The 3 were small. They were tasty though but not worth the money. Wife’s meal was good. Waitress was very good. I’ll go back again but for something different.

We’ve been here quite a few times in the past year… The service is always pretty good… Fun trivia on Wednesday nights and food is decent!

The last time I was at an Applebee’s, which was a very long time ago, it was sort of a slightly fancy Friendly’s family-style restaurant where you could order a beer. We hit this one the other day because we’re dutifully trying out various potentially kid-friendly restaurants as part of our breaking-in period in the area. Since my last visit to the chain, they seem to have repositioned themselves as Denny’s-with-a-sports-bar-in-the-middle, and not a good one at that. There’s a few other chain restaurants in the vicinity, so it’s hard not to compare Applebee’s to them. They had no salad bar; fewer kids options; smaller portions for only slightly cheaper prices; and the food was delivered at a tepid temperature. The dishes aren’t particularly remarkable, and we tried to order what seemed unusual or offbeat for the type of place(a chicken-portobello sandwich, some pasta dishes). The ingredients seem to have been assembled from the freezer, counter, and microwave in randomized order. How can you have a pasta dish with warm pasta and cold sauce in a plate that was scalding hot to the touch? If the sauce is supposed to be a three-cheese sauce, too?(Karnak says: «A microwave reheating of two ingredients pulled from different places.») I have no idea why people would come here, frankly. This would normally get a three-star review, but Mrs. The Crank came down with the trots after the visit, and she NEVER gets sick. So there was something in her tepid food that had been sitting around for a while, finding a little traveler of some sort from some employee’s unwashed mitts. When even the usually completely malleable kids say«this wasn’t anywhere near as good as ______restaurant» you know you’re hitting bottom.

Applebee’s has to be hands down one of my favorite chains. I usually love every item they have on their menu… especially the apps. I also usually am I love with whatever drink special they have. I mean c’mon they have 2 dollar budlight 16oz drafts… thats AWESOME at happy hour. I wish I could walk to an apple bee’s. Anyways this place always has good quick service. Last time I went I ordred this delicious sizzling chicken queso dish and it was actually sizzling when it came out and it was delicious. While unmarked it was one of their lighter meals too! I do like that they have a lot of meals that are healthy and delicious. I hate the four items at the bottom of some menu’s, this one has them sprinkled in all over the place. Thank you! :-)
