Not much to say about history here. Not sure about the goof ball below who said the food stinks, but making a reference about willingly eating out of a dumpster, should tell you enough. Great hotdogs, been going here since I was kid. Each time I travel back home, I always make a stop at the old faithful.

Worst food in the history of food. Better off going to dumpster outside any other diner or restaurant at least you might get something edible from that. Went here twice because a relative dragged me kicking and screaming back. The food was even worse the 2nd time. Lean cuisine or Marie Callanders would be 1000% better. The only reason worth going here is if you want to stand in awe of how badly the food is prepared.

If you’re hungry for a good meal and like a lot of options, you’ve got to check out Redwood Diner. The food is good and the menu is nearly as thick as a phone book. There are great breakfast choices served all day. The Redwood burgers are definitely worth checking out. And for those of you who like Liver and Onions, you’ve got to stop in and have some of the best around.

When you walk into Redwood, it feels like what a diner should feel like. The waitresses are extremely friendly and the service is quick. I go there for breakfast a lot and it is always consistent. If you are stopping by for lunch, try one of their yummy soups and definitely get hot dogs!

Biggest waste of $ 50.out our 4 meals, my son was the only one who ate his $ 8 grilled cheese. The waitress came and took the 3 practically untouched meals, and I even told her the food was not good and that I was not happy about spending $ 12 on my daughters meal for her to just eat fries. She smiled and gave us the check. How do you screw up a buffalo chicken wrap? I will be calling the owner tomorrow and asking for a refund for the uneaten meals. I will pay for the fries and grilled cheese.

I come here 2 – 3 times a week with my husband and some times adult children. Have never complained or sent anything back even if there was a mistake. I have always tipped the server 25– 30%. I also come once a week with a friend for breakfast/we split the breakfast which is always a cheese omelet. we have always been told that it’s not a problem. Today apparently it was. We were over charged for our omelet. Bacon for myself was burnt to a crisp, ordered a normal well done not burnt. We were not offered any more coffee or service. there was hardly any cheese in the omelet. only a spoonful of home fries. when we were given the bill we said something to the waitress and she told us we should have come to find her. we and 1 other person were the only customers. The owner rang up our bill. He told us never to come back. he said to never come back, stood by over charging us. He told us he had bills to pay and that we were being charged for food that was unacceptable and little to no service because we split an omelet. He also used profane language to us. We were never rude to him and on told him. I would highly recommend that you do not go to this restaurant. If you receive good service and food you never know when the owner will snap at you. There is no ‘the customer is always right” Please come to redwood if you enjoy 2nd hand smoke and bring your children. We witnessed last week the owner sitting at a table outside on the small patio with a friend who was chain smoking

Will not return. I ordered soup and sandwich and my daughter ordered spaghetti with sausage and peppers. We both received soup with our meal. The vegetable macaroni was literally macaroni water. Her spaghetti came out and the sauce was like water and the sausage was fatty fatty fatty boiled into it. One of the worst meals she has ever had. I played it safe and had a grilled cheese which was soaked with butter outside but still typical of diner food. French fries were great. I am to disappointed to stick my neck out for desert. I will never eat here again and would suggest you keep driving down the road.

I stopped by here for dinner which was down the street from my hotel. I am one the prefers Diners of Chains anytime. This was a great Diner, food was a plenty, staff was very friendly, and by the conversation I had with a gentleman at the bar, a favorite of the locals. I will be back

I know I’m just not a good match for this place. I mean, I recommend it heartily as a cultural experience, but even now I’m not sure I understand it. The food seems like what you’d make if you threw a quick dinner together by integrating various canned soups, sauces, and vegetables; I’m certain that this is exactly what some people will treat as comfort food. For me, it just came across as slightly careless, over-rich, and a bit too oily. It’s rare that I neither finish a meal nor bring some of it home.

The Redwood Diner is a good classic family friendly restaurant located along Hamburg Street in Rotterdam, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with plenty of daily specials and good portions at reasonable prices. I can’t recall exactly when I was at the Redwood last: I was just a young kid racing dirt bikes across town in the 1980s. I had dinner at the Redwood Diner on a recent Saturday evening. The atmosphere inside is welcoming, and very homey with tables, booths, counter seating near the kitchen, stained glass hanging lights, tile floors, seasonal décor(Valentine’s Day), and red colored walls(exposed brick, wallpaper, and wood trim). Ms Pac Man arcade game and the latest issue of Metroland are in the entrance foyer. The clientele here are mostly regulars, older folks and families. The breakfast menu offers the typical items such as eggs, omelettes, pancakes(wheat cakes), French toast, cereals, and other sides. The regular menu offers comfort food(meatloaf, liver & onions, roast turkey dinner, & more), Italian specialties, steaks & chops, seafood, salads, sandwiches, grill items, and desserts. The children’s menu($ 7.65-$ 7.95) is named after the Seven Dwarfs including Bashful(fried sole), Doc(spaghetti), Sneezy(roast turkey), Happy(charbroiled chopped beef), and Grumpy(sliced roast beef), comes with drink and dessert. Good daily specials are also offered(many under $ 11) served with soup and salad such as lasagna, beef tips over rice, pot roast, and pamigiana dinners. The lasagna special($ 8.95) is very popular and I heard they ran out of it by 5:30PM. Pepsi fountain drinks served, beer and wine available. I decided on the Linguine with White Clam Sauce Special($ 9.75) which came with soup and salad. I tried out a cup of Manhattan Clam Chowder, which had a thick tomato based broth with lots of diced potatoes and very minced clams. The salad was a very basic plate of lettuce, tomatoes, shredded carrot, cucumber, and onion & a cup of Dijon dressing. The Linguine with White Clam Sauce was pretty good, which had minced clams served over firm linguine with lots of butter, oil, garlic-clam broth. After I was finished, the waitress asked me if I wanted dessert, but I was full enough. I was told that rice or tapioca pudding was included with the Special, a nice surprise! I had the rice pudding topped with whipped cream which was cool and creamy. The service was very attentive and timely, as soon as I finished one course, the next one came out immediately with excellent timing, eh. Though the food here is not fancy, I do recommend the Redwood Diner for tasty homestyle cooked meals at reasonable prices. There is sure to be something here to please everyone’s palette. Overall, 4.333 stars. On a side note, I was seen taking photos, and was asked why. Cover blown! I told the waitress I was taking pics of the food for a review on the internet and to look out for this review on very soon. I try to be discreet on all reviews I do(no flash if possible), trying to be a «phantom gourmet»(a mystery food critic from Boston) which I AMNOT, but it wasn’t happenin’ tonight. I do need a smaller camera, hehe. The Redwood Diner has been officially UnilocalED!
