Isopo’s is great. I rarely order delivery, but was feeling extra lazy… the man who delivered the pizza was also the cook, and was so proud of the food. Which, rightfully so, because it was delicious.

«Downtown. Let’s Go Downtown(In Neil Young voice)» by Josh K. I had driven past Isopo’s Downtown Pizza, a large pizza shop on Erie boulevard across from the new Wolf’s Biergarden many times, paying it of little mind; after all, there are numerous mediocre pizza shops sprinkled all over the area. And for me, pizza in Schenectady is a serious matter. For the pizza-parlor style, I always choose Marino’s — a hearty, full-bodied pie made with lots of TLC. For slices, it has been Pizza King with their prime location next to Center City at the end of the«walking» Jay street and their seemingly endless topping possibilities. With its own private parking lot, this time for lunch, I easily made the decision to turn off of Erie boulevard and venture inside Isopo’s Downtown Pizza. Although the pizza dough is a little too chewy, with more sauce and cheese needed, this was a decent enough slice. However it is not the pizza that will bring me back. What will bring me back is their bread. Isopo’s makes their own light and fluffy Italian bread in house every morning. Thus, the sandwiches here are refreshingly delicious respite from the typical sub made with generic, store-bought submarine rolls normally sold at pizza shops all over the area. As a daily lunch special, this tasty sandwich on fresh Italian bread is combined with soup or chips and fountain drink for 6 bucks — this is a pretty sweet lunch deal. And with comfortable inside and outside seating, there are plenty of reasons to return and add Isopo’s Downtown to my Schenectady pizza shop radar.

Just moved to the area and was looking for a good pizza place. So glad my boyfriend and I chose this place! I can’t comment on the actual restaurant because we got our food delivered but the garlic knots and pizza were amazing. Definitely going to get again.

I’m writing this review while waiting for my food. I called in a cold sub and a salad 15 minutes ago. They told me 25, but I figured this stuff doesn’t take 25 minutes, so I stopped on my way home to pick it up, a bit early, I will admit. But I walked in and there is not a single customer, one employee is cleaning the restaurant, one is making a pizza, another guy behind the counter was on his cell phone when I walked in. They hadn’t even started my order. It’s a cold sub and a salad, it should take 5 minutes, and if there is no business, why did you tell me 25 minutes on the phone and not even start my order when I placed it? Kind of crappy customer service if you ask me. The one good part of this experience is the one woman behind the counter apologized a few times, which I appreciate. This place is a convenient location to my apartment. Otherwise, I wouldn’t order from here.

A highly underappreciated establishment in the blooming downtown Schenectady area. The calzones are huge and perfectly golden brown every time. Salads are super fresh, and the garlic knots are incredible. They also bake their own bread daily. On top of the food being fruckin delicious, the prices are excellent.

I’ve been here a few times, first when it was still Downtown Slices, and also since it’s become Isopo’s Downtown Pizza. Didn’t really notice a difference other than the name change. The pizza is decent, but I didn’t feel that it was anything to rave about. They do have some sandwiches that are also good, including a fish fry sub that was the special one of the days I’ve went. I do feel that I had to wait a little longer than I needed to in order to get my food, which when it comes to pizza, isn’t the best thing.

Went there for a quick lunch on a weekday. Had an amazingly good chicken Gyro — fresh, hot, great pita bread, and delicious. The friend who accompanied me had a slice of mushroom pizza and she was impressed as well. Good find.

First tried the subs and were very happy. Great bread, soft and fresh, great prices, also very accomadating fixing them. We just tried the pizza and this is why we graded them a woohoo! Best pizza in the area. My grandpa was straight from Italy and ran a pizza place in Troy for 20 yrs. I can say I am picky when it comes to pizza and this one was as close to the amazing pizza I grew up on. Perfect amount of crisp to the crust, good quality cheese, and the sause was awesome. Really made the pizza! So glad to find this place. Oh and the guys behind the counter are super friendly, enjoy going in there.

Some of the best pizza I’ve had in the area. The cowboy burger was great too. They also have some pretty amazing wing sauce, sweet with just enough zing to it.
