Nico’s first floor is strictly committed to the pizzeria. Walking in you’ll find plenty of seating, giving you the option to look at downtown Schenectady or away from it. The pizza available is always displayed neatly, looking fresh every time I go in. This shows they keep a close eye on when to make a new pie, very important. The pizza it’s self Is definitely NYC style with all delicious slices for 3 dollars, everyday of the week. But the best deal is 2 slices of your choice and a free soft drink for only 6 bucks, you can’t beat that anywhere especially after spending the afternoon around the downtown area. My personal favorite is the buffalo chicken, I never seen one slice of pizza with so much chicken on it but the sauce does drip a lot, any slice you get. It may be a good idea to limit any dressing used but besides that I definitely recommend grabbing a slice.

In the upstairs bar/restaurant is amazing. No way you’re leaving hungry, thirsty or unhappy. What a great first, of many, experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that likes a neighborhood bar feel and excellent food and extremely fast kind service. We were served by Tamara, she was certainly went above and beyond the typical. Thank you Nico’s, I’ll be back.

The newer woman who workers behind the counter screws up my order every time. Such as forgetting to give me my second slice on take out orders and burns slices of pizza.

We waited an hour and ten minutes for the food to come one block from Nicos. I had a steak sandwich that looked and tasted like beef jerky on a roll. I ordered onions no peppers and I got peppers no onions. Terrible.

Went to this place on a whim the other night, and I really enjoyed it. They have a decent draft selection, and the menu has some great and different options. To start, we shared Ruben fries and an order of boneless wings. The Ruben Fries were outstanding, one of the best apps I have ever had. The boneless buffalo wings were also very tasty. For an entrée we ordered a buffalo chicken pizza, open face sandwich, and a salad. I can’t comment on the salad, but the other two options were really good, and we have plenty to take home. This place is really under-rated. I wish I had come sooner, as the prices are really, really, really good for what you get. The quality of food was great too. We will be coming back here again, I just wish I knew about it sooner. Also, the portions are huge, so come hungry.

Always loved Nicos pizza, it’s my favorite pizza place in schenectady. Always had good service downstairs at their pizza place and I was excited to try their restaurant upstairs. Me and my boyfriend have been to the Nico’s restaurant quite a few times. I absolutely love their food. Their pasta, calzones and burgers… Always so delicious. The service at this place however, sucks… There is one waitress, wish I knew her name that always does a great job but everyone else there could use improvement. Sometimes they give you popcorn before your meal, sometimes they don’t. One time me and my boyfriend sat there while everyone else got popcorn except us. It was annoying. I generally always have to flag them down to get me another drink, or to even just get us the check… We’ve waited a half hour before they even took our food order before. Another thing is, every single time we come here we always have to wait absurdly long for our food. If they could just whip their staff into shape a little better, and be more consistent with their service, this place would be amazing because their food is definitely one of my top go-to places in Schenectady.

We were here after the Hall of Fame Inductions because it was the only restaurant open on Sunday. We found the pizza and house salad to be really good. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and the pizza was thin with a crunchy crust. The house salad was a large portion mixed with lettuce, carrots, cukes and tomatoes. If you sit on the roof, or outside area, the service can take a little longer as they have to walk down the steps to get the food. Sitting outside was no issue for us as the weather was nice and we weren’t in a hurry.

I love Nico’s. For some reason they have a shady rep in Schenectady. I think that may be from older times, I have had nothing but great experiences. I have ordered food to go a few times, but I mainly head to the 2nd floor for sit down meals & drafts. The burgers are excellent, wings are as well. Pizza is very good, in my opinion. But hands-down, the best dish is the Buffalo Mad Mac. Seriously. Get it. You will not regret it. I’ve introduced people to this dish & some refer to it as «crack mac».

It seems my last review was removed for vague reasons so I’ll just write another one. This happened when Nico’s was given a remodel and grand reopening after Schenectady decided it needed to redo«Downtown Schenectady» Since Nico’s is close to my house I decided to order it instead of ordering from my usual place, Our Original Pizzeria. They had a grand reopening special that was pretty decent so I told them that’s what I wanted and when the waitress told me the price I said, that’s not what right; I’m looking at your flyer and it shows this price. She told me I needed to «ASKFORTHATSPECIAL.» She didn’t like it when I told her it was her responsibility to look out for the customers and know her own specials. She then decided to hand the phone over to someone else and I could clearly hear her say, «handle this fucking guy, because I can’t take it.» Which led me to canceling my order and driving up to my usual pizzeria. Before this, I would occasionally stop in; especially when I worked at OTB during my lunch hour only because of the lack of choices back in 2007. It was Nico’s, Pizza King, or Subway. Yes, their prices are cheap but the quality of the food matches it. To be honest, I’m surprised they’re still in business.

Very good pizza. Reminds me of the real NY style pizza that I can get whenever I go back to my hometown.

I love Nico’s. Our group of 7+ come here regularly and it’s always been more than accommodating. Friendly staff who actually remember you and your usual drinks even after the first visit. Check out the roof top patio, the view is great!

When I order, I tend to get the NY style pizza, and I am never disappointed. I’ve lived in Chicago, Arizona, Berkeley CA, and now I’m back here in Schenectady and Nico’s NY style is still my favorite. The only thing that’s better is actually making the trip into the city for a slice. You can get it by the slice during lunch downtown, or order a pie delivered. I wouldn’t bother ordering any of the other dishes — Honestly, it’s a pizza joint, order pizza. The rest sort of seems dubious and I’d want to see how it gets made before I’d consider it.

I have to say on a positive note the pizza looks amazing. we heard they opened up a second floor and roof top patio so we wanted to give this place a try. it was a disappointment. the 2ND floor was clean with a nice bar but very loud. the 3Rd floor roof top patio was nothing to remember. it needs some updating. we got the crab cake blt salad. the dressing was awful crab cakes we just blah. I got the Cuban. it was good but lacked meat and the side of coleslaw was terrible. my boyfriend got a cheese burger. there was no cheese on it when it came. also they r allowed to smoke on the patio after 8pm. I don’t think it was even 8 yet. when you have great places like johnnys and zen that r right next to u, you really need to step your food game. we will not b eating here again in the near future. I would got to pizza king before returning to Nicos. The place has pot

This is the best place to get pizza in downtown schenectady. The slices are huge, The sauce is good, and there is a wide variety of slices to choose from.

I DONOT recommend. The food took over an hour to deliver and once it did I was brutally disappointed. The Alfredo had no flavor. Unfortunately at this restaurant they stay clear of salt or any other ingredient that makes food taste good. While the portions were sizable I don’t recommend wasting 10 dollars on what seems to be over priced dog food. The worst of it all though would have to be the lack of utensils given. If I’m giving you money to eat sub-par«Italian food» at least give me something to eat it with.

Like a young McKayla Maroney at the Olympics, I was not impressed by Nico’s. While they have reasonable prices for a slice of pizza, which are rather big, the slices of pizza are rather limp, and for the lack of a better word, bland.

I ordered a 12 slice square Eggplant Sicilian Pizza at Nico’s, which took about 30 minutes to be ready after ordering. I did catch the game on the flatscreen TV in the dining area while waiting for the pizza. The pizza was big and heavy, but mostly baked thick pizza dough and not enough sauce and cheese on top. The crust was chewy, uneven and too thick along the edges. The breaded eggplant slices tasted pretty good, but the sauce had very little flavor. One of the corner slices, was pretty much all thick crust and no sauce, cheese, or eggplant. I am a fan of Sicilian style pizza(thick soft crust) with plenty of tasty toppings, but this Sicilian pizza was way too thick and lacking flavor. At least the pizza was not greasy.

This place comes off as pretty skeevy. The pizza options in Schenectady, for lack of a better word, suck. Nico’s is no exception. Yes, they’re cheap. Yes, they have huge slices. The sauce is bland and unoriginal. I’ve also seen some fairly unsanitary behavior by their employees. I know no place is perfect, but when you’re blatant and make no attempt to even remedy it, it says a lot about how you run your business. No, thanks.
