Solid selection of mexican food in downtown Schenectady — upbeat vibe and average prices. Downstairs is a more quicker option of food made on the fly while upstairs is the bar & sitdown scene. Would be great if they served Choco-Tacos.

Just a bad experience and we wanted to love it. We figured be safe and go with Burritos our first time. Just a sad sad burrito. It’s a burrito with JUSTRICE, and it’s not good rice it’s the hard kind that’s been sitting out since opening. I got the souther catfish burrito and I was like you can’t go wrong with it being fried, even the fried fish was not seasoned or up to par. $ 8.99 is what you pay for a tortilla and rice and bad quality ingredients. My husband got the chicken burrito you would think you can’t mess up a chicken burrito… He poured hot sauce all over it this place is a waste of space on State Street, we think this area should have a decent restaurant instead of this. Just not coming back, it can’t be hard to make a Tex-mex joint. Salsa and chips don’t bother they come stale and I saw the guy pull them from a big metal canister, not warm not seasoned, the service was so so so slow. We were the only ones downstairs and waited about 20 minutes and for a cold sad burrito

Not impressed– go to the one in Albany When my friend and I came up the stairs we were greeted by a wanna be meathead who shouted«IDs,» then the host finally came back a tired to seat up at uncomfortable high-tops with the restaurant not busy at all. I asked for a booth and he responded«ooh that’s for parties with 3 or more» so I said«I just don’t want to sit there» then says«fine it’s not busy anyway» great customer service! Our waiter comes over, no hi, no name just«drinks.» The piggy fries were good oh and the water. My friend’s taco salad was okay. My chicken burrito was cold and had under cooked rice in it. We grabbed the check and left. Never coming back.

Ordered the bbq chicken burrito and chili cheese fries(don’t judge me) and the taste of them wasn’t what I expected. Food was hot and quick. Took back to hotel room but something about the bbq sauce I didn’t like… maybe, too sweet or tangy. The chili had white beans and they could have been cooked more. A bit hard. Fries were crispy… and I LOVE crispy fried but didn’t eat half of the food. Tried. Nothing totally giving up cause other ppls food looked amazing. Def will try again. Buffalo chicken salad looked good. Didn’t give high rating because of what I ordered.

Great food. Great ambience. Decent prices. Bombers is definitely the place to go for Mexican food in the greater Albany area. When ever I get to the Albany area I try to stop into one of the locations.

Don’t like the snotty bearded 20-something year old manager. Went to a friend bday party, met them upstairs(her birthday happens to be New Year’s Eve). Me and a friend were immediately kicked out for being under 21, despite not ordering any drinks. Security guard was nice about it, but this manager was not. Stood by our table as I put on my jacket, arms crossed giving us the stink eye. What may be most annoying, our legal friend with us(I was DD) had already ordering a drink for himself n bday girl, but not yet served. Me and my other friend were made to wait downstairs while they were served, and we received a snide remark on the way down the stairs. I know it’s protocol, but the manager did not have to be such an asshole about the whole situation. Also, my friends shots wound up being $ 12 each, which is ridiculous. Not going back to this bombers location ever specifically because of this bearded asshole.

Love this place. Haven’t tasted anything I haven’t liked yet. Drinks are made great. Food cones out hot and pretty quickly. Take out or dine in downstairs or upstairs. Would return in a heartbeat!

Poor. The waitress seemed annoyed that we decided to eat at a booth upstairs instead of just grabbing one togo. Food was a sad attempt at Burrito making. Burrito had a big tear right down the middle when I opened it, didn’t even get to have one bite before it disintegrated. I was left with an order of nachos, topped with Burrito filling, and a soggy tortilla on the side. The only reason that that even gets 2 stars, is because the ingredients seemed fresh and tasted pretty good. Won’t be back though. Chipotle, Moe’s, Hot Harry’s… All much better.

There’s a rule where you can’t order downstairs and bring your food upstairs, but no signage indicating that rule. We wanted to join our group up above, and after pleading, the staff finally acquiesced. The burritos themselves are very average, and the food took forever to come out.

I’ve been here a couple times. The first time was for Margaritas and Burritos with a friend. The drinks were great. The Burritos were good. I don’t consider this authentic Mexican and if you do the same you shouldn’t be disappointed. It’s a bar that serves big american burritos. Plain and simple. The atmosphere is a bit loud and could feel warmer. I don’t blame Matt for this, cute as a button, how could it be his fault. I credit the interior designer with not fully pulling it together. The 2nd time I went was with my office. We got a round booth in the back. This is one draw back. I don’t see how they can handle larger groups. There were 10 of us and they gave us a round booth that seats 6 plus 4 bar stools — hmmm. There were nobother options. Again, poor design, cute owner. Anyway, we did the lunchtime taco bar. It was decent. Not great. Could have used a bit more variety for toppings but for $ 6.99, all you can eat, it’s really in poor taste to complain. All in all I’ve had good experiences at Bombers. I wish you luck with your upcoming Oneonta location. I know it will be a better, cozier fit to your brand.

Not much to write home about. Had the nachos with chicken, shredded cheese, salsa and sour cream. Expected more spice from the chili chicken. The co– workers I was with had a BBQ plate, which she said was good aside from the slaw and rice — both bland and other co-worker had mango cilantro chicken salad. A lot of cilantro flavor, not much mango. So average. This was my second experience here, both have been ok, just not the best meal ever.

I love bombers. Whenever I go home, I go to bombers. The atmosphere has been the same since I was going there 4 years ago. In the mid day it’s business men. At nights and weekends it’s filled with college students. Plenty of seating, great for groups. Service can sometimes be slow, but the staff have always been courteous and fun. Food is exceptional. Huge portions for the price. Burritos the size of a small child. I’ve been a huge fan of the Pulled Pork Quesadilla since I was going to Bomber’s on Lark. Big, meaty portions. Delicious. It’s my go to item whether it’s in the middle of the day or late night.

I visited with family and we went here for early dinner. We ordered chili cheese fries… It came out with no utensils and no napkins… Felt like Neanderthals –½ star… We tried to get our waitress’s attention who seemed to like hanging around the bar area. Someone in our party got up to ask for napkins and utensils and instead of telling them she would be over with them… Just handed him some… Didn’t know it was serve yourself…-½ star… She took our drink order and someone else brought them over but just placed them down on the table… diet and regular and root beer was ordered… Any clue as to which is which…-1 star Refills after we all tasted our sodas and exchanged with each other … Same situation …-1 star Omg food came and that was kinda chaos… It was delivered to us by someone other than the waitress… You know how that can be… Then they brought over a birthday dessert but never asked the other 14 people in our party if they wanted any.-1 star Not going to delete any more stars… Then I couldn’t post a review. Just not worth going… So so dissappointed !!

I used to think there were at least a couple of options for food that I’d enjoy, but this last visit sealed it. I won’t be back. Food was awful. Ordered a quinoa bowl with BBQ chicken. Envision a mushy refrigerated quinoa with corn salsa dumped on it. Add tepid, tasteless black beans and warm overly sweet BBQ chicken with more overly sweet BBQ sauce drizzled over the top. Then garnish with frozen slices of avocado. Yes, frozen to a crunch. They just don’t care anymore(if they ever did).

It’s a good place to go before a show at Proctor’s. I was there last night with my family. The sit down restaurant had a 20 minute wait so we opted to do the counter service. It took a while for our food. But in all fairness they were busy with a people going there to eat before the theater. The food was good, as it always is. What I like about Bombers are the different options available for carnivores and herbivores. I had the southern catfish burrito bowl. It was flavorful but the bowl had way too much rice. If they scaled back on the rice the bowl would have been perfect. Still all in all, it’s still a good place to eat.

I know a lot of people that think Bombers is just okay or a nice place to go when you want to eat grease. However, as a vegetarian this was one of the very first restaurants to serve food with meat alternatives. So I’ll forever be a fan.

Service was excellent but none of us in our party of four liked our food. 2 Had burritos, one had a combo plate and I had a burrito bowl. I’ll take Chipotle’s burrito bowl any day. My sister and I am had a margarita and we couldn’t drink them because they were sickeningly sweet.

Math trivia on Monday from 9pm to 11pm! Prizes include a margarita pitcher, boneless wings, shots, and a $ 30 gift card. But, uh, don’t bother to go to that and compete against us. We like winning all of the prizes! There’s a set of pitcher specials on Monday nights. There’s general trivia Tuesdays with an all you can eat taco buffet 11pm to 3pm and all you can eat classic hard beef tacos 4pm to close(a little before 1am). Every night has a different special and there’s an 11am to 7pm set of happy hour specials: $ 3.50 draft beers, $ 3 well drinks, and $ 6 margaritas. Margaritas are $ 8. The good news is that they’re rather potent. The bad news is that they’re made with clear(silver/blanco) well tequila. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc. are $ 8 and up. Appetizers are $ 6 and up. Plates are $ 9. Wraps are $ 10. Birthday parties come with a complementary giant margarita. It’s certainly a younger(21+) crowd than most bars in Schenectady. The service is good. The staff is friendly. The food and drinks are ok. Parking in front is rare.
