I wouldn’t believe anyone if they told me that this place had the worst bean and cheese tacos. How do you mess up bean and cheese? Is it possible? Well these guys figured it out. The food was cold and the tortillas were doughy. Then my potato and egg was black and disgusting. I can’t and will never eat at taco cabana ever again. Even the coffee was overly done and tasted like dirt. Boo. I hope the health department visits soon. That was not cool.

Majorly messed up the order. Food was gross, stale, and dry. Just all around disgusting.

The employees tonight were great! Very friendly, welcoming and helpful! I noticed the cook was preparing food with gloves, which I think was about a year ago, they were n ot using gloves to prepare food, so I do appreciate that a bunch. I didnt give 5 stars because no place is perfect. However, I would give 5 stars for employee behavior! I had interaction with about 4 employees. All 4 smiled when they assisted me and even joked around a little. Thank you Taco Cabana! Still the best bean and cheese with a margarita. The been and cheese could use more cheese. sorry!

On my first and only trip to Texas for work I had the misfortune of eating at the BBQ joint right nearby to this restaurant. That place was nasty. This taco joint was amazing. Best street tacos I’ve ever had.

Taco Cabana… it is it’s own tradition. This location did it well today. The staff was courteous, the business was clean and the food was fresh and delicious. This is the best«fast food» mexican place around…

I got the street taco plate. I went through the drive thru and they forgot my salsa AGAIN. When I got home I found that my tacos were squished together inside foil and one taco was completely EMPTY! There was barely any meat in the other 2… Word of advice, check your food before leaving the drive thru.

My Tex-Mex adventure continues… my first(and until tonight most recent) taste of Taco Cabana was in 1997 as a drunk 19 year old consuming late night drive-through eats in my buddy’s Suburban. I remember it being the best tasting Mexican food I had ever eaten in my life. And I always hoped that I would once again dine at the TC. Well, 18 years later, with a more sophisticated palate, I’m sorry to say that while still very excellent, and a great value, it no longer reigns supreme in my mind. It’s not supposed to be the best Mexican food in the world, but for a drive-through, it’s pretty damn good. If I lived in CTX, I would definitely be a regular.

The Spanish rice is delicious. Their flour tortillas are also delicious. Unfortunately I got the enchiladas which were terrible. If I ever have the opportunity to come back to a Taco Cabana I’ll for sure get a taco! By the way the apple Fanta was delicious!

Taco Cabana, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. It’s your fluffy, thick tortillas that I can snack on for days. The delicious yellow queso that changed my Californian soul, to a good old Texan’ one, ordering bowl after bowl after bowl. From your $ 2.99 flautas that make my heart skip a beat, to the goodness of your burritos which brings me down to my feet. I go when I’m hungry, I go when I’m sad. For my tummy finds comfort in your menu, which turns out to be not that bad. Not bad, not bad at all. I am one to tend to stay away from fast food joints, but let me say at least once every few weeks, I allow myself the luxury that is Taco Cabana. I’m from California, and(everyone will mock me for this but) my go-to fast food Mexican place had always been Taco Bell. I haven’t set foot in a Taco Bell since I discovered Taco Cabana. Their tortillas, oh my their tortillas. So good, I even ordered a ****load on a plane back with me to the west coast. This one just happens to be the one closest to where I’m staying at the moment, but I’ve never had a problem with their employees, food or their service. I made a poem for this joint, I’m looney in love. Five stars.

Being Military we move back and forth a lot over 40 years. I used to like the Breakfast Tacos at Taco Cabana. But the Bacon bits in a Bacon and egg taco doesn’t make the grade! I can’t believe they can’t put a single slice of bacon on the taco!!! I am not interested in the cheese on an otherwise healthy taco. The Bill Miller Barbecue in the same area is much better!

Original post was for poor service… incredibly long wait times for food(40 minutes plus!) OK…I have to give them another chance. I gave them feedback on their corporate website and the next day I received a phone call from the store manager apologizing for my experience. It was nice to get that call, but I wasn’t home so he left a message. He called a second time the next day and he left me a second message! That’s an A+ for follow up and effort! Today, I received a letter from the store apologizing for their service that evening! They could have said«So what… we had a customer that didn’t like their service» and left it go. But two phone calls and a letter within the week? I’m impressed !!!

Always check your drive through orders. Mine has never been right. Sad disappointment when you get back home and the order is not what you expected. Even when they repeat it back to your correctly, they still key it in wrong, or simply fill the order wrong. No quality control.

not sure about all the great reviews on this place. i typically avoid this lotion for the reasons i am about to mention. Its fast food i know but holy cow slow it down a little. Tacos typically look put together like the person making them is blindfolded. coffee terrible not sure why, it always is. And the staff seems unfriendly. this last time the soda machine was out. no big deal i guess, i was leery even going here but this time i went because my daughter had to have a taco and a drink. and the Bill Miller next door stopped serving them by this time of day(best tacos ever at B. Miller by the way, TRYTHEM if you haven’t, 15 cars in line at Bill Miller in the early morning, only about 2 cars in line at TC, uh… i wonder why.). my daughters b&c taco had the beans hardly touching the cheese that was hardly there, and well no soda. annoying experience as expected. no smiles at the drive in window while the food is thrown at you. ya know. if it was good food, i’d take it, but its not so, as i usually do i’ll just find another place to stop. this is not a shot at TC, just this location. to the Managers @ 4992FM3009 in Schertz, … get it together please…

Let me get straight to what matters… The Spanish rice… I do not know what it is about their Spanish rice, but when I was pregnant I would make a meal out of a side of their Spanish rice… I was slightly obsessed… Fast forward a few months and I will still order a side of rice, but my main course has shifted to the chicken burrito bowl. The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 though is because I have gotten the bowl a couple times where the chicken was less than desirable, and I have also had a few other forgettable menu items that I could have lived my whole life without ordering and been better off… But I tell ya, that Spanish rice… Num num num!

As the previous post said – Taco Cabana is good – at least at this location. It had been over 10 yrs since I ate at this place and have to say I really enjoyed it. They restructured their menu a little but the prices are still very good considering there are a couple of food establishments within several hundred feet of each other. The service is also pretty quick considering this place sits in a very busy intersection. Their food portion as pretty generous as well. They offer free refills and small discount to service members. They keep the seating pretty clean but can’t say the same for their restrooms. Overall good experience.
