Great place. I got an Italian sub and my friend got a chicken salad sub. We went 50 – 50 on them. From my knowledge, they are best know for those two sandwiches. Both are a must try. Good staff and reasonable prices. Very fresh ingredients — no wonder why it’s been in business forever.

Every time I visit MA and get a chance to see family & friends in Sci it doesn’t get any better than a trip to Maria’s. Like everything else, the prices have gone up a bit but that’s ok. and don’t run up to the door 5min before closing time, it only takes them 1min to make a sub but recently ran into a closing crew not taking any chances and ended up going all the way down 3A to another sub shop. That said, I ran in over the weekend and although somewhat busy it was only a minute or two wait at the counter to get my sub and even ran into my uncle who was grabbing lunch on his way to the boatyard. It’s a no brainer, Maria’s = Scituate.

Can’t call ahead to order. Doesn’t work for anyone with a schedule. Also, gets a line as a result of said policy which creates a long wait and compounds the problem. The food is probably great but I’ll never find out.

Always busy, there is always a line(a good thing), always fresh meats and condiments. My favorite is the Roast Beef with everything, provolone and toasted. Also like Combo Meatball and Sausage with provolone and toasted… hhmmmm

This is just a great consistent fresh sub shop … lets not over think this. Service is very good and they actually smile … which I cannot say for other take out establishments.

AMAZING! Wish I lived closer to Scituate so I could come here more often, but unfortunately I don’t. But it has always been amazing when I’ve come here. This landmark is still going strong.

Every time I come to town to visit family I MUST come to Maria’s for a sandwich. Came here again last night while I’m in town and got my favorite: the tuna salad with pickles, onions, and tomatoes. The subs are fresh and always filling. The service couldn’t be friendlier. Maria’s is a staple in Scituate Harbor and I hope they’re around for years to come!

Freshest bread and meats around. The BEST Italian sub on the planet. Celebrating 50 years in business this year

I remember getting the sausage sub here when I was a little kid and thinking it was the best sub ever. 25 years later, it’s still the same, in the best way possible. Love this place.

Very high quality cold cuts. The best sandwich/sub shop I’ve ever been to. Subway pales compared to this place.

I read a one star review on here that made my blood boil. Maria’s is a Scituate institution! If you’re looking for a custom sub with lettuce, you’re going to the wrong place — Maria’s does things their way, not your way and I have to say, if you let your control freak guard down and just get an italian sub with everything, your mind will be blown.

Maria’s is iconic. Ask anyone in the area, everyone has a favorite sub from Maria’s and believe it or not will talk about it at length. There are facebook pages devoted to Maria’s subs! The pickles are square cut and just should not taste as good as they do! My favorites are the chicken salad — pure, healthy chicken — so good! And, meatball. There are quirks to this little restaurant — cash only, no lettuce. There is limited seating, but the harbor is right across the street, and a very nice place to sit out. Enjoy!

All of the sandwiches here are great, especially the hot pastrami and the cold cuts. Toppings are very straight forward: onions, pickles, tomatoes, hots, oil, and vinegar. If you are coming at lunch time the line tends to snake around the inside of the shop, but it moves very quickly. Overall, this is a great sub shop that has remained unchanged over the years.

Trust me. If anyone has anything bad to say about the food here, they obviously have no idea what small town food is supposed to be. It isn’t spectacular. But that is what makes it great. When you eat their food, you feel like you are at a friendly, casual place that you can remember the faces and the food as well. Its a place that is down to business. You want your food? You have it. You can sit and dine if you like but it is more centered around carry-out. So you have your pizza/sub, chips and drink and are on your way back the place that pizza and subs is made for: your home or hotel room. If you want fancy dandy food, go elsewhere. Here, we mean small town food and this place does it the best. Now my personal fave is a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. But thats just me.

Best pizza anywhere! I really wish Maria’s was out here on the West Coast. Plus the staff is super friendly and sweet. The favorite part of any trip to MA is going back to Maria’s and demolishing a pizza.

Like a step back in time in all the wrong ways. Pretty uncommon that they won’t make a custom sandwich from you. Pretty sure it’s 2014

If you want a good sandwich go to Circe’s Grotto in North Scituate. That place is good I don’t understand why people like this place. The only thing I can think of is that they have never eaten good food in their adult lives. I can see how kids who don’t know any better may like it, but grown ups? The fact that people like this place leads one to believe that nobody in MA has any idea what good food is. If you have ever eaten outside of MA do not go to Marias. I wish I could give it ZERO stars. .

I used to eat at Maria’s when I was young and in school, eventually moving away to Texas and never finding anything like Maria’s ham and cheese subs. Every time I go back to Massachusetts, I stop to eat at Maria’s before I check into my hotel. I love, love, love their food, their business and the owner is a fun and energetic fellow who puts up with this Texan showing up every day! I have gone to Maria’s for 43 years, and I will go, every time I head back, till I kick. Love you Marias!!!
