My girlfriend, Therése, and I wanted a place where we could talk business, but still get something healthy to snack on and have some good wine. She suggested Terroir Wine Pub in Scottsdale. I wasn’t sure, since I had never heard of it, but she seemed convinced that it was perfect, so I said yes. Terroir Wine Pub was established January 2005, by Brian Mahoney. His motto for his bar is «the friendliest wine bar in Scottsdale and the original wine pub» and«Fine Wines and Sublime Times.» Terroir Wine Pub is located at the Scottsdale Seville Center at the NE corner of Scottsdale and Indian Bend. As I walked in, i immediately noticed that the rectangular shape of the place lends itself for people to mingle. In true pub style, apparently there is a big local following, so coming in by yourself is a great way to meet a lot of new people and is encouraged. It’s also hard to miss the impressive wall of wines.(see pic) Terroir Wine Pub changes the wine list daily and likes to minimize pretension and flowery descriptions of the wines, which allows the customer to discover their own tastes in a casual environment. Brian and his staff do have a lot of knowledge and plenty of suggestions to guide you as well. There is also a wide selection of craft and microbrews in bottles and several beers on draft. Although Terroir Wine Pub mainly focuses on wines, there is a food menu, featuring appetizers, Bruschettas, Lavoshes, and chocolates. The appetizers include: ~Hummus Plate(which we had — see pic) ~Pesto Magnificent ~The Formage Plate ~Olive Nut Plate ~Spring Slices ~Terroir’s Signature Cheese & Salami Plate (which we had — see pic) The staff came and went; each very helpful, extremely knowledgeable and kept the wine and food coming. They were also noticeably perceptive when to come over and when to let us talk without interruption. I appreciate that very much. As we were leaving, Brian showed us around and thanked us for our visit. I appreciate that too. I will definitely come back. Of note… Terroir Wine Pub has a monthly wine club for $ 29.95, where you can choose between trying one $ 30 bottle or two $ 15 bottles. Terroir Wine Pub offers wine storage, special order services, in-house tasting, wine storage consulting, private party consulting, and wine appraisals. Terroir Wine Pub has a private meeting room for special parties or business functions. Terroir Wine Pub has game nights, open mic nights, theme nights and if you ride your bike there, you’re automatically awarded discounts on your wine. Terroir Wine Pub has numerous accolades, including being on USA Today’s Top 10 Best Wine Bars in Scottsdale. The patio is dog friendly. There is plenty of parking out front. For more information: Hours: Mon — Thurs: 11am — 10pm Fri: 11am — 11pm Sat: 1pm — 11pm Sun: 1pm — 9pm I 5⁄5 highly recommend Terroir Wine Pub!

Happy hour all day! This is my go to spot for a quick… or more glass of wine. The staff is always very helpful about choosing the perfect wine. Get he asexual Chocolate! I’ve bought so many bottles of this to bring to holiday parties and the recipients love it! Make your friends and family happy! Bring them here for an easy time at a great wine bar. You will never be disappointed… I haven’t!

Curated wine list, good appetizers, decent ambiance, friendly and helpful service. If Vino Volo had a full service joint, it’d be Terroir Wine Pub. :-) Crowd is a mix of couples and friends hanging out sprinkled with a pinch of snootery. Great to hang out for a bit after work, on your way somewhere else.

Had a great relaxing atmosphere and fairly large wine portions. We went during their happy hour(which is all day) and enjoyed their house special of both the Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

This wine bar has a great atmosphere. Not too big where it feels impersonal, but not so small you can’t find a table or spot at the bar. They also have a nice outdoor area. They offer large pours for every glass of wine. They don’t have a happy hour, but they do have a list of $ 7 wines that they offer all the time. The bar keeps are very friendly and prompt with service. The place also had some comfy couches inside for a more relaxed experience. I haven’t had a lot of their food options, but the Phoenix bruscetta is to die for! They have mostly small plates as well as flat bread pizzas. Definitely can’t eat dinner there, but can get a yummy snack to go with your wine.

We are so glad we found this cute wine bar! Total chill, family feel where they welcome you in with a smile. Open seating is a nice perk but the best thing is their wine club. We happened to come in on our first visit on their wine club day and it was a fun vibe. So glad we got to hear about it. Also LOVE their cheese plate! $ 10 corkage fee from their retail prices wines is so nice! Life long customers!

One of my favorite spots to catch up with a girlfriend over some healthy pours of wine and great apps. The staff is always welcoming and helpful and the atmosphere is very relaxed.

This wine bar has an attentive staff and very romantic setting. The lighting, outdoor marble top tables, and fountain features make this bar a relaxing place to hang out and sip some wine, which was delicious, great selection, and they vary the menu often. The vanilla caramel truffles were also wonderful!

Keeping my rating of 3 stars because it’s still my opinion that it was in the middle of the road. I’ve been here once before and only had wine. The pours were generous and we had a great times. But apparently my review was offensive to someone. My friend and I were charged exactly what we should have been charged for a bottle and a few small plates(the prices on the menu and the bottle). Thanks though for replying in a rude manner to someone giving a middle of the road review. Again, good service, cute place, just won’t be my go to place unless I happen to be down there for wine only.

We hosted a bridal shower at Terroir last weekend and had an amazing experience! They have a fantastic room and separate patio for private events. The owner was so easy to work with and spent a lot of time with me beforehand to pick out the perfect wines for the event! As our guest list changed he was quick to adjust and so easy going about it. The day of the shower the staff was very accommodating and extremely patient with all of the special requests coming from the bridal party. They were a huge help to us as we were decorating and getting ready for the special guest to arrive. It turned out to be such a fun day and most importantly, the bride was so impressed! Great place to host a happy hour, party or any other special event! Thank you Terroir!

we happened upon Terroir for a drink with some friends of ours. I was a bit surprised that they charged 7 bucks for a glass of wine, but lo and behold… the pour was QUITE generous. enough so that i could only handle one glass, and i have a pretty good tolerance for red wine. we had dinner plans elsewhere, but Terroir was a cute, inviting wine bar that didn’t feel pretentious. excellent find for us.

Good happy hour wine prices… $ 20 for a bottle, Great! The pizza appetizer was also very satisfying… The place and the staff were just kinda cold… boring… I just didn’t get that fun, warm and fuzzy vibe I was expecting.

Want to escape the throngs of people and escape to a simpler time… With wine. Then my friend this is the place for you. Such a small cozy restaurant, it has a great selection of plates to share and a pretty good happy hour. Don’t forget to drop by on Wednesdays for open mic night with The talented Ms Sarah Chapman.

I flip-flop from 2 to 3 stars on this place, but it’s hard because walking in there it doesn’t look like a two or three star place. In fact I would say it’s nicer than 5th and Wine just from the atmosphere yet every time I go there I feel like«Meh, if I never went here again I wouldn’t be missing anything.» Here’s what I like: the décor/vibe is very trendy and cool. I love how towards the back of the space they have racks and racks of wine but it’s not very inviting. Like, nobody really lingers there looking at the wine. It would be really cool if you asked for a recommendation if your server took you over there and showed you some wines. That way the space would be more incorporated into the experience and maybe more people would be mingling which would also add to it. On the subject of service, truthfully I think that’s where this place really fails. They seem to only hire two types of servers– awkward with no social cues or annoyed that they have to talk to you because they have something more important to do. I think this place has potential and it’s not bad by any means but it’s just a little bit lack luster for the reasons above.

Stopped in here for a glass of wine and light bite before heading to a Unilocal event up the street. We walked in and were not greeted, despite the fact that it wasn’t busy. Everyone sort of just stared at us as we stood inside the entrance waiting for some direction as to whether or not we should seat ourselves. Turns out seating was indeed patron’s choice. The bartender did, after a minute or two, tell us we could sit wherever we liked, and he followed us to a patio table with a couple of menus, which he placed on the table and then walked away. He came back a few minutes later to take our order. I had a Pinot Noir, my girlfriend had a Sauvignon Blanc, and we also ordered a plate of cheeses and meats and a couple of waters. After that, the service improved and we were quite happy. I have to say, the selection of by-the-glass wine is excellent, and they do not skimp on pours. I was way impressed with the pours! I hate it when I order a $ 10 glass of wine and get 2 ounces. Don’t have to worry about that at Terroir! Further, the concept is neat. You can drink by the glass, or you can select a bottle from their extensive cellar, and either take it home with you or pay a corkage and enjoy it there. The cheese and meat plate, imo, was good. The cheeses were all unique, fresh and tasty, as were the salamis. The small plate was just about right for the two of us(we might have had a couple of pieces of cheese left over). This place strikes me as sort of a neighborhood«Cheers» type of spot that locals frequent and everybody knows their name. I am not a local to this part of town(live about 35 minutes away) so I can’t say that this will be a frequent stop for me, but I’ll come back for a pre-game glass of vino and accouterments when I have dining plans in the area, that’s for sure. Thanks for a fun happy hour for us!

There really isn’t a better place to drink wine than Terrior. It is such a fun neighborhood place. They have the best wine selection and even do wine flights for just $ 15. The patio is really nice and also dog friendly They have lots of fun events also. Anything from trivia night to vino and canvas. The best part of Terrior is the wine club though. For $ 30 a month they will hand select 2 wines for you that are never a miss. Terrior is a must try! Love It!!!

Great place with great wine. I am a regular and always look forward to coming here for a Red Zin. They always have one by the glass and it’s always a treat to see which one they picked to pour! As soon as the weather is a bit better, the patio is great.

So I’ve been looking around Scottsdale for just the right type of wine bar as I really love tastings/flights and cheese plates, bruschetta and just the whole wine vibe crowd. Well, I think I have finally found just the right spot! Terroir is a great spot for a date, groups, or in my case, just anyone looking to try out some new wines and relax. The vibe is very laid back and people around were very conversational having a great time. The décor is wine all around, with bar stool chairs around the rectangular bar, table tops, lounge chairs and tables and outside many tables on the patio. They do have a tv as well above the bar so you can catch a game there as well! They serve beer as well, I saw Guiness on tap if you want to mix it up. It’s just beer and wine FYI. An entire wall of wine bottles for customers to choose any wine of their liking and have it served to them(retail prices vary +$ 5 corkage fee) The prices were very reasonable and not marked up 100%+ like you’d normally see in a restaurant. The staff were all very pleasant and attentive. I tried the Phoenix bruschetta and it’s amazing! It has prosciutto, cream cheese, and honey flavor type fig on toasted hot bread. I could’ve ordered an entire 2nd order it was so good. I went on a Thursday, and as I found out, they have 3 flights of wine for $ 10. Normally any other day it’s 3 for $ 15. You get to choose from their list of wines by the glass, which they had like around 10 or so whites and like 10 or so reds to choose from. I went with the reds and was not disappointed! Oh, did I mention in the Mens room they have a tv running ads connected to the sink?!? Craziest thing I’ve ever seen! Bathroom ads have now gone to another level!!! I highly recommend! Cheers!

What a fantastic little place. Apparently, it’s been around for years but I never knew it existed. Definitely a fun place for a nice flight, some light snackage and Scottsdale people watching. A pig walks into a bar… No, really. A pig walked in while we were there. The pig was on a leash with it’s owner and they strolled around the patio and inside the pub. I got the feeling the pig was a frequent customer and probably has a more refined palate than I do.
