I really had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately it was a disappointment to me. We met some of my clients here for dinner and arrived early to have a cocktail. The place was pretty empty for 6:30, since that’s peak eating time at all other Clear Lake area restaurants. We sat at the bar initially and ordered from their limited cocktail menu(mostly mojitos and some with way too much fruit in them). I had hoped they had more creations than they did, but they did not. Once we were seated, I got the Southern ceviche, which was suppose to come with lavosh crackers. The ceviche itself was really good, but I had to google what a lavosh cracker is because what came with the ceviche was Saltine crackers, which soon got extremely soggy and inedible. I had the steak, which was okay, but certainly not the best I have had nor good enough to make me want to go there again. Perhaps they were having an off night … don’t know … but I don’t think I can bear to give it another chance for fear of having yet another mediocre meal.

Great brunch! I had French toast which was very good. Someone at our table has something that came with sweet coated bacon that was amazing! I had regular bacon with my French toast. Everyone at our table was pleased with there food. The décor was nice and I’d definitely go back.

We finally made it by for dinner and I’m glad we did. The food, in general, was very good. The mahi was delicious! My only complaint would be on the service. While it wasn’t bad, I would have appreciated our waitress having a better knowledge of the food as she wasn’t able answer our inquiry as to what seafood was in the ceviche. Also, there was no offer for dessert to our table, even though we’d heard another waitress speak highly of the desserts to a nearby table. Our waitress seemed to be servicing tables across the restaurant, so that may have contributed. We will come again, the food was very good. Hopefully the service will improve.

Came here for brunch based on the reviews from Unilocal.Glen was our waiter for brunch and he was great! Very attentive, fast and service was on point! We had the biscuits and gravy(basically for appetizer, hubby was hungry! Ha) then bottomless mimosas(only $ 13/pp!) and ham/eggs and french toast… Food was great! Almost came here for dinner last night so we asked Glen for a menu to check out and wow, yum… We will definitely be back for dinner!!!

Went there after wife said«let’s check that place.» We ordered the charcuterie appetizer and it was very tasty. We ordered the seafood skewer and red snapper. The side dishes(jambalaya and corn) were excellent. The lemon dessert was a great way to end the meal. Service was great and out waitress always had a smile. Will definitely return.

So I’ve been using Unilocal for a while, but haven’t yet felt compelled to write a review; but this place got me off the bench. This was my first time here, and I was actually really impressed. I’m not a huge foodie or culinary expert, just an average dude. So I’ll stick to what I know… food that I like and quality of the service(and bathrooms which I’ll get to later.) I was there with my wife for brunch yesterday(Sunday brunch). It wasn’t very busy, but had a decent crowd… maybe 8 – 10 tables occupied. Service was prompt to greet us and take our drink order. We opted for bloody Mary’s over their mimosas, but they had run out of our favorite vodkas. So we just had what the bartender recommended based on our first 2 choices(I forgot what they had left, but it was pretty good.) The bartender makes a good bloody Mary with a fair amount of spice. My wife prefers hers more spicy, so she asked our server to get the next one made with a bit more heat. It came out perfect for her. We couldn’t tell what kind of pre made mix(if any) he used as a base, but it was clear that whatever it was, he added his own twist which was nice. I ordered the French toast with a side of bacon for my meal and my wife ordered ham and eggs. We also got an order of biscuits and gravy to share. My French toast was good and came with a warm side of syrup and homemade cream and strawberries. The bacon slices were pretty thin for my liking since I prefer thicker cuts of bacon, but they were cooked well. My wife’s eggs were cooked perfectly over easy and the ham was great. I have never had ham that was as tender as that… it was almost brisket like. As we were finishing, the head chef(Chef Knowles I think?) came to our table to talk with us. My wife recognized him from another restaurant and he actually remembered what she and her girlfriends ordered… kind of strange, but cool I guess. He gave us some insight into how they made the ham so tender. He spent a little bit of time BS’ing with us, but not too long to where it got weird. It was way more than a typical«How was it? Thanks for coming» fly by . Overall we had a great brunch meal with pleasant, attentive service. I do recommend it for brunch. Only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because we haven’t had dinner there yet to fully judge. But we will be back to give it a shot as well. I’m sure others may factor the restrooms into the overall quality of the restaurant, so just a quick note about them. They were clean, smelled fresh, and were decorated nicely with pleasant lighting. One stall and one urinal, pedestal bowl sink. I don’t think they’ve changed since it was Bailey’s. I did not check out the ladies’ room, but I assume it had the same décor. Thanks for reading!

This building is the old Bailey’s location. Service was great, our waitress was personable and helpful. Food was fresh and tasty. Price point seems a little high. Our waitress lost track of us at the end of the meal and took quite a long time to get us our check(only negative issue of the entire experience).

First time here at brunch. I was very impressed!!! I ordered the«English breakfast» and the pancakes were to die for! They were moist and the perfect amount for one person. They are similar to a crêpe with a fruit compote on top. The bacon was also very juicy and mine was«candied» bacon which had a yummy caramel sauce over it. So good! Kuddos to Chef Knowles! Will be back again very soon! :)

Fabulous first experience here today at brunch! I had the seafood omelet with crab. Absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. My sister had the english breakfast with pancakes. She loved it. They were similar to a crêpe in style with fruit on top. Light and delicious! My mom had the french toast and loved it along with the juicy bacon. So many places overcook their bacon, but theirs was rich and flavorful. Chef Knowles even came by and introduced himself. We loved the personal touch! Our server Jerrin was really nice too! It’s so nice to finally have a classy brunch spot in the clear lake/seabrook area! We’ll be back to try dinner/happy hour soon!

We came into town before boarding a cruise ship and stayed down the street. We had arranged to have dinner to celebrate my mom’s birthday and Courtney and the staff could not have been more accommodating. Not only was the food excellent, including their ability to accommodate 3 of us that are gluten free but the personal touch and attention started our vacation in a wonderful way. They also had some live musicians adding to an overall wonderful experience.

After reading the two not so great reviews, I wasn’t too excited about coming here to be honest. My husband made reservations so I was just going to go with the flow and make the best of it. Our experience totally exceeded my expectations! We had cocktails, bread, ceviche, salad, scallops, steak, coffee, and a deconstructed pecan pie. All great! There was a guy playing keyboard. All great music. We will definitely go back! Our waitress said they have only been open 3 months. I’m assuming that’s why there were some bad reviews. Seems to me that they ate taking note and making changes. Why I didn’t give 5 stars: I did notice one table never got bread, we ordered cocktails and I had to ask for water to go with, in the bathroom they should move the paper towels closer to the sink, and they only have one toilet. For as nice as the place is, people shouldn’t have to wait in line.

I’d been watching the exterior re-model of this place, in anticipation of it’s opening. So when my guy decided that we should rendezvous there for a date night, I jumped at the opportunity. The entire experience was not what the exterior look and feel, would suggest. This place is small. The layout is a big dome inside with maybe a dozen tables centered in the middle, and another dozen booths surrounding them. Each having a view of the open kitchen and expo line. This makes it very noisy, as we could hear the chefs calling out orders and clanking away on the line. Don’t get me wrong, I like the hustle and bustle of the kitchen, but in my opinion the open kitchen concept did not fit with the particular bar and grill theme they were going for. We were seated in one of the interior tables, and asked to be moved, because the lighting of the interior tables is overly bright, like you are sitting in your own personal spotlight. The seating along the exterior is made up of cozy booths, where the lighting is a bit more subdued and romantic, hence we made our move to one of those tables instead. Pork Belly appetizer was well presented, but dry as a bone. The grits and the ketchup sauce on the plate were more the star than the meat. I proceeded to ask the server about house favorites, popular items, to which she began to describe the ceviche as having a strong fish smell/taste. Weird. Food is edible but lackluster, and very overpriced. $ 27 for 4 scallops a polenta cake and 3 sprigs of broccolini. The simple chicken alfredo entrée was a disaster. Glad that we were able to eat local and support our neighborhood restaurant, however this will be the first and last time dining at Blue Palms. We will most likely come for pre-dinner cocktails in the bar.

Great food! Good service! One of the best lemon drop martinis! Everything we had was great. From the crab cakes and spinach artichoke dip to the dessert! Highly recommend this hidden gem!
