new ice cream place in my hood! woop! in the same shopping center as Arlan’s grocery in Seabrook. I couldn’t even read the name of this place when i drove by. all i saw was the arrows pointing towards the corner of this strip mall, with these delicious looking concoctions. we finally got in there tonight! and it was ahmazing. and it’s more than just ice cream. Neveria El Quijote is a very unique addition to the seabrook area. They offer delicious homemade ice creams in exotic flavors like avocado and guava. they have these awesome fruit-parfait things that are artistically architected in these giant glasses. if that’s not enough, they have fruta preparada. this is basically a fruit – a watermelon, a pineapple, jam packed full of candy, other fruit, chili. SHRIMP?! the sky is the limit! they also have that delicious street corn on the cob with stuff on it, and a doritos version of a frito pie/walking taco? um yes please!!! looking for something healthier? they have a salad bar and a design-your-own fresh juice bar! but really. dorito walking taco??? how are you going to get a SALAD? we got the frutielado napolitano, which was a parfait with neopolitan ice cream, bananas, strawberries, chocolate syrup and ice cream. it was amazing and giant. i had the avocado ice cream and it sounded weird at first, but it was delightful! ok this might be all very intimidating for a) someone who doesn’t know what any of these items are b) don’t speak spanish. don’t be scared! the girl at the counter really held our hand through the whole process and made us feel like we were part of the club. it would be nice if they had a menu that really described each of these feats of culinary engineering. i REALLY hope they add a menu soon instead of the picture menu only(see pics). I will update my review after i’ve tried more of the stuff on the menu!
